[11] Lucifer Actually IS Back

Now this was really a stretch. Ever since Lucifer had first fallen off the map, there had been rumors of his inevitable return. Of course, they had always turned out to be baseless. There was no way that Nathaniel or any of the other angels would believe that Lucifer, who had been missing for centuries, would actually reappear at a time like this. And Camael was the one to voice their exact thoughts.

"Of all the absurd things you've said so far, this might just be the least believable. Lucifer disappeared over seven-hundred years ago. How could he return so easily?"

"Bentley Hellbourne died over eighty five years ago," said Bentley, "And she just came waltzing back up out of the grave,"

An awkward silence washed over the crowd. She was right about her own return, but that certainly didn't prove anything about Lucifer. Still, the reminder was enough to put some people on edge.

"If Lucifer really had returned, shouldn't it be him standing here facing us? Why is it you?"
