With a slight groan, Frances hauled their body upwards into a proper seated position. It took a moment for their eyes to regain focus on the bleak grey landscape, having hit their head on the hard rock.
Thankfully, even though Atticus tossed Frances like a ragdoll earlier, they were mostly unhurt. Their glasses were bent and slightly cracked. A wound had opened up on their forehead, causing a small amount of blood to trickle down the side of their face, but it wasn't deep enough to cause great harm. At most, they would only suffer from bruising and a bad concussion. However, the emotional injury of having failed to protect their own friend seemed to have more of an effect on Frances as they struggled to regain consciousness.
