The Twist

Finally, The three of them arrived in town.

- Is this your town?

Sarra replied proudly:

- Yeah, beautiful isn't it?

- Where is your house?

- Why are you in a hurry? Don't you want to make a tour around, first? We still have a lot of time.

Tarou wanted to refuse, but he was tempted by the big town.

- Alright, just a small one...

First of all, Sarra took them to a restaurant.

- You must be hungry, let's eat something first.

She ordered delicious food for them. Aaron was quite amazed by the combination of the flavors.

- What is this? I have never tried such a thing.

- That's only chicken soup. Did you like it that much?

- Yeah, it is different...in our land, we only ate grilled meat.

- That's sucks...What about you Tarou? Did you like the food?

Tarou was the opposite of Aaron, when he tasted the food he remembered his mother's food which made him feel so bad. He had a lot of memories with her unlike Aaron, who couldn't even remember her face.

- No, I didn't like it...

- If that's the case, I will ask for some grilled meat for you.

After having a good meal, Sarra took them to the town's market.

-There are a lot of things in this market, if you want to buy anything, just tell me. It's on me.

The two brothers entered a weapon store. That was the first time they see that kind of device.

Monsters always depend on their power, they don't need weapons, but in Aaron's case, he will need one to protect himself.

There were all types of guns.

- You must buy one of those Aaron, tomorrow I will be back and you will be on your own.

- What should I choose, there are so many.

Sarra reached her hand and took a small gun.

- You should start with this. Small, light, and very effective, you can use it easily... What about you, Tarou? What do you want?

- I like this dagger.

The dagger got his attention because it has a lion's head with red eyes carved on it. It reminds him of his father.

The two brothers bought what they needed, then they headed to Sarra's house.

Tarou didn't let his guard down:

-Is it ok for a lady to spend the night alone with two strangers?

- I'm not living alone, my mother is with me.

They finally arrived. It was a small house on the border of the town.

Sarra invited them to enter. Tarou kept looking around in case there was anything suspicious in that house.

Both brothers sat on a sofa, while Sarra called her mother.

- Mom, come here, we have guests for tonight.

- I'm coming, dear, just wait a minute.

- Mother is preparing food, she will come any time. Make yourself comfortable guys, she will be happy to see you. We didn't have guests for so long.

Tarou was uncomfortable but he was a little bit relieved when he heard the mother's voice.

" She is a witch, yet she is acting like a normal human. maybe I overreacted."

He noticed that there are a lot of sculptures of little children all over the house.

- Are those witch things?

- My mother collected them, she likes those stuff.

One of the sculptures caught his eye. He took it unconsciously. It has two children with a father and a mother, it made him remember his childhood.

- Hello everyone, I'm sorry for being late. I'm Sarra's mother, Anna

- Hello, I'm Aaron and this is my brother Tarou.

Tarou turned around. Suddenly, he dropped the sculpture from his hands. Aaron picked up immediately:

- What's wrong with you, be careful.

Tarou didn't say a word, he was just staring at Anna with a confused face.

- Why are you acting like you saw a ghost?

- Actually, I did... Mother? is that you?
