Confrontation (3)

Tarou tried to avoid his father's angry gazes as much as he could, but Alan couldn't let what happened slide easily.

- Why didn't you tell me from the beginning?

- You wouldn't listen to me.

- I would if you said that your mother is involved as well.

- I was afraid that you might hurt her again if you knew.

Alan slammed the table and made it shatter:

- WHAT DO YOU KNOW EXACTLY TO SAY THAT TO ME?

Tarou tried to stay calm:

- She told us the whole story. She told us how you abandoned her in the snow, to die.

- You shouldn't listen to everything she says.

- Then should I listen to you? You know that I have been blaming her for all these past years for abandoning us, yet you didn't even bother to explain to us. Aaron thought till the last minute that his mother was dead while she was standing right in front of him!

Alan sighed. He backed off and tried to hold his anger:

- I should have known that something happened when you stayed that long outside the land.
