CH 82: Back To The Past

As Laila pressed the knife against Dylan's throat, it caused a small cut. Dylan winced but maintained his composure, his eyes locked on Annie, who watched the horrifying scene with terror in her eyes.

Despite the immediate danger, Dylan managed to offer a comforting smile to Annie. He gently spoke to her:

- Annie, dear, can you close your eyes for a moment? There is something I need to resolve with Aunt Laila.

Without hesitation, Annie obeyed, closing her eyes tightly.

Dylan couldn't help but notice Laila's trembling hand. He challenged her, his tone filled with a mixture of anger and cunning:

- Are you going to kill me in front of a little girl and cause her trauma, just like those killers did to you?

Laila, clearly conflicted and shaken by his words, pushed Dylan away and then tossed the knife aside.

She replied bitterly:

- Killing you is useless. I can't waste any more time.
