"I'm quite fine, or so I guess."
The Cat-eyed guy then extended his hand out to Olivia to help her up. He seemed to recognize her from earlier, but brushed it off as she took his hand.
"Thank you, for.. all that… you saved my life, I guess?" Olivia said, hoping to sound like a helpless maiden in the least.
He stared at her for a bit and nodded his head, seemingly acknowledging her, but it lasted only for a second.
"But you seem like someone who could've taken him down if I hadn't come," he said, with an expression on his face that no human being could actually read.
'Oops, caught!' she thought before brushing her dress off and straightening herself. Another woman walked into the restroom, staring at the both of them and creating a very uncomfortable silence. But she did serve a purpose, the purpose of taking attention away from Olivia's failed acting trial.
The cat-eyed man then walked out of the restroom with Olivia hot on his trial. He seemed to be quite the introvert, but the air of awkwardness made Olivia feel at home.
"Do you wanna join us?" he said out of the blue, pointing to the gang that Olivia and Jay had already joined, just before all of this.
Joon waved his hand at the cat-eyed guy, and seemed to also wonder if he already knew Olivia. He turned to Jihwan to discuss the situation, but turned away when Olivia and the cat-eyed-guy approached them.
"Did you guys get acquainted already? I was thinking of introducing you both."
The cat-eyed guy looked at Olivia so as to check with her if it was okay for him to tell Joon what had happened.
Olivia liked the fact that the guy looked for approval from the person before he could share something that could've been traumatic. She usually did respect such behavior, but at that particular instance, it weirded her out, since she was on trial of these so-called 'dangerous guys' who seemed to have a lot of humanity left, surprisingly.
"I just got into a little situation with a drunkard," Olivia said, interrupting the guy before he could reply. "And I could've been gone by now if it wasn't for him"
"Are you okay Olive?" Jay asked, concern laced in his words.
"I'm fine, only because he had the decency to check on my welfare; unlike you who ditched me."
"Come on now Olive, I was just.. socializing."
Olivia turned to look at the direction that Jay was staring at, and it became apparent what he meant by the word 'socializing'. His eyes were on the slender guy of the group, who had his shirt loosened. Jay's eyes were consuming the man whole, his every curve and every little detail.
She cleared her throat and turned her attention back towards the cat-eyed man, who still seemed suspicious of Jay and herself, especially since he probably remembered Jay and his clumsy ass knocking him over in the morning.
'Why doesn't he question us though?'
Joon interrupted Olivia's flow of thoughts by trying to get the cat-eyed man acquainted with her.
"Olivia, this is Go Yangi, and Yangi, this is Olivia. She's a tourist, along with her friend Jay here."
The cat-eyed guy Yangi just nodded his head in confirmation and settled down on the couch. Olivia wondered why the guy who opened up easily in the restrooms, was all introverted back here, among his own friend group.
"Psst.. I just know for a fact that Goyangi means cat in Korean. Who would name their kid 'cat'?" Jay whispered to Olivia, who was still looking at Yangi.
"Who in their right minds, with 'Go' as their second name would let go of the opportunity to name their cat-eyed child as 'cat'?"
"Did you study Korean too or what?"
"It's just common sense Jay, something that you lack apparently!"
"Can I get you guys a drink?" Jihwan chided in, slowly warming up to Jay and his eyes studying him.
“Yeah of course.”
As soon as Jihwan left the table, a girl about his age started trailing him. She was about 5'3, with a petite figure, purple colored black her to her hips, wearing a black suit.
“Hey look, Jihwan sure seems to be a magnet for women.”
Joon smiled and turned to look at the said girl, but only for his smile to fade and turn into a frown. His expression soon morphed into one of anger, as he slowly approached the girl.
“That's not just any girl.”
Yangi piped up and got on his feet, but was pulled down by Joon who side eyed Jay and Olivia. He seemed to tell Yangi not to react because it would give them away.
“Guys, it's fine, I won't be judging if you have a bone to pick with her. And I'd gladly help pull a bitch’s hair out if you'd want me to,” Olivia replied, cracking her knuckles.
“Jihwan’s eyes are on her, he’ll take care of it, don't you fret," Joon said, almost crossing his fingers hoping that she wouldn't start any problems.
Jihwan, surprisingly came unscathed from the encounter with the girl who seemed to be a regular nemesis of theirs. But everything turned upside down when she approached their table and downed the drink that Jihwan had gotten Olivia, right out of her hand.
“Are you— for real?” Olivia asked, as the girl slammed the glass back down hard on the table.
Joon tried to shush Olivia, and intervened in her stead.
“You have no business being here Ara, could you just leave and let us be?"
“Oh but I do, I do have leftover business with the lot of you,” she said, biting into an olive that was on the side of the cup for the sake of aesthetics. "Plus it wouldn't be much fun letting you people be happy; you know very well how much I hate happy, smiley people. I get nauseous," she said, faking a gagging motion.
“And I notice that you guys have some new faces over here round your table? I'd like to get to know this hottie.”
Joon opened his mouth to retort, but Olivia stopped him this time, deciding to stand up for herself.
“I'm Olivia, just a tourist here. Who might you be Ara?”
“Hello Olivia-just-a-tourist, nice to meet you," Ara said as she swallowed the Olive in her hand as a whole, staring seductively at Olivia. "If I could, I'd take you whole like this to be honest.”
Olivia leaned in, to show her that she wasn't fazed in the least. "That pick up line was so cringe, that even the men here threw up in their mouths. I hold my women to very high standards."
"Oh do you now? I do like my women snappy," Ara leaned in too, and the two of them were almost face to face, lip to lip. "I bet all that snap would turn to mush when you're under me."
“Oh, we'll see who turns to mush."
“Then come to the dance floor with me, I could bag you in an instance.”
“Trust me, I'm not that easy.”
“Well then big words, show me how tough you really are.”
Olivia pulled the knife out of her thigh strap and handed it over to Jay under the table. Jay almost missed the knife, as he was engrossed in watching the whole exchange with his mouth wide open, only for Yangi to force his jaw shut.
He watched in confusion as she proceeded to drag Ara, the haughty new girl onto the dance floor. Jay lightly tapped her wrist as if to ask her if she'll be okay, and Olive winked at him in return, leaving him with his mouth agape again.
“You're kind of an asshole you know?”Jay directed the question to Yangi, only for him to turn it against him.
“I do," Yangi said in a wedding-vows kind of way, completely throwing off Jay.
“I don't.”
“You two would make the perfect couple you know?”Joon chimed in, only to the irritation of both Jay and Jihwan.
“Hyung! I'm right here you know?”
“Well, take it before you miss it then.”
“By the way, who was that girl, why did you seem to hate her just minutes ago, why is she on the dance floor grinding on my bestie and the most important question of them all, will Olive be safe with her??”
“Calm down, calm down Jay. She might be a menace to handle, and might have made us quite angry at times, like she is doing right now, but she wouldn't dare to lay a finger on a fellow woman without her consent.”
Olivia and Ara on the other hand were looking at each other with a look that gave borderline hate and borderline I-wanna-devour-you-whole vibe.
“You seem like the play hard to get type who is actually down to a quick fuck.”
“Oh really? You look like every other so-called insta baddie that gets in the pants of random people at really random times, in the most random of places.”
“Oh well, other than the so-called insta baddie part, you did get some parts right.”
“Who are you then?”
Ara paused to squeeze Olivia's waist tighter as she posed her next question as an answer to Olivia's query.
“Well, you guessed that I get into peoples' pants very often, so why don't you be the pants this time and get to know more about me?”
“Oh no no, we'd only be trying to choke each other to death in bed, literally.”
“Ooh, kinky! I like it.”
Olivia's curiosity got the best of her as she pulled Ara's hips closer towards hers.
“Let's leave this place then? We'll see if you're plain old action or all talk in bed too.”
Olivia's darker tone of voice and whisper seemed to have an effect over Ara, as she took one deep breath before she grabbed her wrist, with the intention of pulling her out of the crowd.
To the amazement of Jay, his friend had finally bagged a woman. A woman.
"Wow!"
"Are you the kinda guy that imagines being in bed with two gay women?" Jihwan piped in, much to the annoyance of Jay.
"I'm offended that you think so little of me!"
"Then what type are you?"
"Well, maybe the type that doesn't sit around and think about all the gross stuff my bestie is trying to get involved in?"
"Gross? Oh well, guess I ain't getting any today."
Jay stared at Jihwan in disbelief, while Jihwan himself smirked at Jay first and then at Yangi. He pulled Jay to the dance floor as the DJ announced an even sexier song, much to the apparent dismay of Yangi.
"Fuck you look so devourable in this light."
"Is it the light or the vodka?"
"It's you."
