I stare at Oiko, thinking if she had a screw or more loose in her brain.
"I can't be seen!" This is the first time I ever hiss at someone and them taking it seriously. She grabs my wrist and snatches the kid away from me. Although, she whispers encouraging things to her which makes the girl nod. She runs away, leaving Oiko with me.
"You will fight. We're going to play the ace card with you." Says Oiko.
"But- but what if someone kidnaps me?" She had an inhuman amount of strength. I couldn't get myself to stop her from dragging me around, yet she cleanly drags me through the gravel floor. As I ask her the question, she stops at once.
"Then I'll save you."
Her spiteful words embrace me with assurance. Taking in a deep breath, I look down at my wrist which she releases slowly.
"I'm sorry, but we are understaffed to even save the world." Says Oiko. But it's the Yelene talking to me. I have to trust her intuition. If she is going to save me, she means it with her whole heart.
"O-okay."
"But don't transform yet. Your wolf needs training and a partner to work with." She says, her back facing to me. I nod to her, even though she can't see me. At the end of the stable, I've thrown my shield and armor as Kal instructed me to. I may be defying his words, but this is necessary too.
"Run, but be alongside me." She instructs. We run at full speed, at least with what I've got, I was feeling short of breath and my lungs wanting to crush themselves from within. I was panting worse than a dog, just then, a huge blast shakes up the very earth behind me.
"Watch out!" A dragon, easily level 4 attacks us.
Shoot! It found me already!
"Everyone take cover!!" Oiko screams as our shields are pointed to the direction of the dragon's attack. It was a liquid type, even one drop of it will burn holes into the body. My leather shoe is almost stuck into the liquid that spills down from the shield after it's attack. Breathing out, assuring myself safety, I see Oiko slashing the dragon's gut and covering herself in its blood as it fell to the ground at once.
I found myself to be purposeless. I was quite ruining everyone's day.
Although, the crack from which the earth style dragon with lava release emerged from nestled another dragon within. It was feeble and small.
Wait... that's not a dragon...?
It's pure white. Even whiter than snow. As I try to peep inside the crater, the creature at once rises to the sky. It's omnipresent radiance blinded my eyes to an extent that I had to squint for vision.
My eyes were not believing what I just witnessed.
It's...
"HANA!?" My voice is cracked and filled with utter confusion. Why was she glowing?
Is this some new curse? Did the dragon burn her so much that she was glowing white, almost like a torch. Or... has she become something else?
Something beyond fathoming?
The answers to my questions lay within the next moves of Hana. She spreads her arms wide, the angelic glow almost equivalent to the sun— maybe even more. She opens her eyes and we see cyan colored iris and pupils. Even the white of her eyes were painted cyan.
"What the hell..." I mutter, everything happening in slow motion for me.
"If you wish to live, leave this pack." The whiteness says in a booming voice. I'm not quite sure whom was the warning supposed to reach to, but as though a prayer strikes, the dragons begin to fly away in a haphazard fashion, almost like they were choosing to live than die in the hands of the new power that emerged in Hana.
Something is wrong.
The dragons have flown away, but Hana is still hanging in the air like a scarecrow on an invisible tall wood rack. The scene was pretty frightful and might mess with a weak person's mind, but I try to look closer and gasp.
"She's having a concussion!" I yell, blasting towards the house that she crashes into once she loses balance mid-air. The roof was completely scorched. I was concerned, but not more than my concern for her.
Oiko yells behind me, "Riley, wait! It's too dangerous!" I know that already. But my feet were moving on their own. Sliding through the ash dripping roof, I cough and find Hana in the middle, quite naked because the new power in her burned all her clothes. Before anyone takes advantage of her state, since she is primarily an omega, I cover her up and use my alpha wolf to growl and scatter away any male wolf that comes inside.
"Allow only Eugene and Kal to pass." I say. At the end of the day, I'm still the alpha and they are my lower ranked werewolves who obey to my wolf. Kal rushes in first, examining the perfectly fine body of Hana who happened to pass out.
"What was that?" I ask while shaking my head. As the heir to their alpha throne, I needed to know what everyone's wolf was. But this seemed an impossible task since no wold possessed this kind of power, ever in history.
Kal jumps his eyebrows and turns to me to say,
"Well, it appears that you're not the only ace card werewolves have against dragons now." He says, his words going above my head.
"Ace card? What do you mean by that?" I ask him, perplexed. Kal bends down on his knee and sighs, holding my shoulder and looking up into my eyes. I give him a weird look, glancing at Eugene who was gulping air.
"We all know you're the powerless red-furred dragon slayer. But then, there befell another sister curse along with you on this pack. Eugene, you didn't tell me about this." Kal turns to the beta.
"The problem here is... I am just as clueless as you are right now. In fact everyone here." My head is moving towards Eugene and Kal simultaneously as I finally ask.
"Is there something I ought to know?"
"The red furred beast is often the yang. The yin energy is provided from an external source. All energies have yin and yang. And I now can say that my boy," Kal pats my shoulder, "You've found your yin energy."
Yin... energy...
What does that even mean?
Before I could comprehend the situation, Oiko who was standing at the doorframe gives me a depressed expression. What is she so upset about? Before I could enquire, she runs away with all her might... throwing her armor down to the soil.
