SIX YEARS LATER
“Don’t you all look so lovely today”
Mademoiselle Salome couldn’t help but tear up as she stared at all the girls in her class all dressed up in their lovely gowns and ready to leave.
She will miss all of them terribly as she had come to love all of them so dearly, hugging each one of them she collected their addresses to be able to send them letters and check up on how they were doing.
Most of them were having their debut at end of the year and she couldn’t wait to see them all with prospective husbands.
She looked farther down in front of her to see three beautiful girls standing and chattering among themselves while laughing gaily. Not to be partial but those three girls were her particular favorites, she had somehow come to form some sort of special bond with them when they had travelled together to London six years ago and she wished nothing but the best for them, but amongst them she knew she will miss Madison Salypse the most.
She had grown strangely attached to the once stubborn girl who was now a regal beauty.
She simply couldn’t describe how she turned out to be or how well she had blossomed. She had always been a beautiful and mischievous little girl but over the years she had developed some sort of calmness and had transformed all her facetiousness and curiosity into wits, and as she became more witty day by day she also became more beautiful.
Her sparking grey eyes shone more than ever, her eye lashes were extremely long that the casted a shadow on her cheeks anytime she closed her eyes and her dark brown hair became longer falling behind her back in wary curls. But her smile was her best feature yet as it always had a way of lightening up her face as both her cheeks became hallow forming a perfect dimple which made her look simply gorgeous. She knew that she was destined for greatness and to be with a man who cherished her and loved only her.
Walking over to them she hugged each of the three girls which have now come to become the best of friends over the years. Madison and Glenda where headed over to clanford while Jennifer was headed to London to stay with her father and have her debut later that year, she was offered the opportunity to come with her to become her chaperone and she took it.
“God, I will miss everyone so much” Glenda slouched back on the carriage seats while taking off her gloves; she had always found them uncomfortable and had taken them off at any opportunity she got.
“Me too, I can’t still believe am going home after all this years”
“You better believe it” she said grinning at her and she grinned back.
“I can’t wait to see everyone, nanny Matilda and Ellison”
Madison was so excited to be finally out of bemount but she will also miss the place dearly and all the inhabitants because she had come to truly love all the people there but mostly she will miss mademoiselle Salome, Mr. Donald and Jen, the three of them had become very important part of her life this past few years and had shared many experiences with her.
But more so she was so excited that she will be seeing her sister after ten years, she had missed her so dearly and she knew she had also missed her as her letters said of it.
The journey from bemount to clanford was relatively long as it took them several hours before finally arriving, the coach first dropped Glenda at the Edams residence before proceeding further down the road to hers.
She was already tired and sleeping by then as it was already dark, then all of a sudden she felt the carriage swayed lightly which startled her awake, opening her eyes she realized that they were already in front of her house.
She gingerly climbed down the carriage and stared at the tall building in front of her, she had missed every one so much including her parents even when the hardly paid her a visit.
As time passed she had slowly came in terms with her parents and had stopped despising them. Moving over to the front door, she was about to knock before the door was thrown open and she was pulled in an all crushing hug.
Taking a step back the person pulled back, for her to be faced with a very beautiful girl of blue eyes and blonde hair that emitted a calm demeanor around her.
“God I have missed you so much madi” she pulled her in for another hug and Madison hugged her back.
Ten years, ten years of not seeing her and finally she was now in front of her, she had missed her so much as she was the only one who called her madi, she had also missed her pet name.
“I missed you too Eli” she pulled her in while the coach man helped her carry in her several luggages upstairs.
“Madison” she saw an elderly woman coming towards her.
“Nanny Matilda” she hugged her holding her so tight and just when she let her go her parents came into the foyer and joined them, She greeted them both before the headed over to the dining area to have their dinner.
After dinner both Madison and Ellison went over to her room like old times to chatter and it was there she noticed some small changes in their mansion, like some of the walls paint were peeling off and the windows were cracked, how bad had their living situation become?
“So tell me, how have you been doing?” she began to question her sister wanting to know everything that was happening with her.
She knew that they had both changed a lot over the years and they were no longer two little girls acting mischievous and running around the house, they had both grown into young women, and in as much they still knew each other, that was only on the surface and the both knew it, she wanted to be able read her without her speaking or saying anything and to share her joy and sorrows as she used too.
“Am fine, I want you to tell me all about bemount” she scooted closer to her grinning like a child.
And Madison did tell her all about bemount and all the people she met and had come to love like her own. They both spent the whole night listening to each other stories and reestablishing their sisterly bond.
………….
The next day Madison woke up early as a habit. She quickly got dressed and came downstairs heading over to her garden. She had learned from her nanny that the old garner had died a year ago and it had broke her heart, but before he died he had done well in transforming her garden into a beauty, it looked just like a fairy tale land with its beautiful flowers and shrubs scattered all over.
She walked over to a certain hedge of purple lilies and smiled so brightly, it felt just like yesterday when she had nurtured and grew this plant herself, she was grateful to the gardener for ensuring the were well taken care of.
“Madison” she turned around to see her mother, the countess approaching her.
“good morning”
“good morning dear, the maids have prepare breakfast, come have something to eat.” she nodded ideally and was about to move towards the door feeling hungry herself before her mother brushed a stray lock of hair behind her hair and she stilled, she had never done that before, she usually refrained from touching her only when it was absolutely necessary or when they were in public together.
“Am so gland your back home my dear” Madison could only stare wide eye at her, she hadn’t expected her to say it Out loud but she appreciated it, as it meant a lot to her that she wasn’t forgotten and that she was actually missed.
Together the pair headed back to the house where they both had breakfast before continuing with the rest of the day activity.
