When I woke up it was seven in the morning. Ryan was scrolling through his phone.
“Halls called me, she interviewed the therapist. She’s getting charged with malpractice so she did something wrong. Maybe they did bribe her. The doctors called, your parents are stable and your mother is still asking for Alison. Not surprising. Maxine called asking if you’re okay, too,” he finished.
“All in one night?” I groan.
“You’ve finally achieved popularity,” he says jokingly.
I threw a pillow at him, he laughed as it bounced off his shoulder.
“Are you going to classes today?” he asks.
“I should, I missed a lot as it is,” I reply. “Don’t you have classes, too?”
“At ten, I wanted to spend more time with you,” he teases.
“If we’re lucky, we’ll get to spend all summer together. I won’t have to sneak out of the house to see you this time,” I reply.
