Chapter 13

Sellion sat at the big, fancy table in the Council's meeting room, waiting for the rest of his coworkers to appear. He let his leg bounce, letting anyone who saw him know of his impatience.

It had been a few hours since his chat with the king. Calling a High Council meeting was no easy task. It required the king's permission—unless it was an emergency, then the king's permission wasn't needed—and it required sending out summons through messengers. The messengers would deliver the notification that someone had called for a meeting and would have find the councilor they'd been assigned to meet if they were not at home.

"What's taking so freaking long? Where are they? It's been forever and a half," he thought out loud.
