Chapter 32 - In The Sea That's Painted Black

Traversing around the rest of Lake Oribel, we were silent. The only sounds heard were the horses' hooves clicking against the stones and dirt.

My mind had been wandering. We had learned about a new piece of Sellion, one that I hadn't thought possible. He had had a girlfriend–a lover–at some point. He traveled alongside her friends, too. They were all too chummy to have been complete strangers. Noa and Ersli no longer saw him as a friend due to what he'd done to Hollyanne. Grindel hinted that they had been close. Judging from her personality, Grindel was likely the only one who could have forgiven him.

I wonder what had truly given Sellion the impulse to come to Elven Guard; to my father. Hollyanne hadn't known who my father had been to Sellion. It was entirely logical that my father and Sellion had known each other well before Father had hired him.

I wanted Sellion to explain everything to me. I prepared to ask a question when Essaerae began to speak, posing her own question.
