Normal Day

Opening the door to the outside, Ali went outside and breathed in the cold winter air of the United Kingdom.

He had just turned 11 years old today, and just like all his other birthdays he didn't care much, he never celebrated his birthdays and treated it like any other day of the year.

He's only been in the UK for about two moths since his holiday, and today was the first day of school, he hated the walk to school since it would remind him of how dull his life is and how dull it was going to be, school then university then work and dying of old age with nothing significant to your name. These were the thoughts that went through his head, very mature thoughts for a 11 year old, but Ali wasn't like other children, since his mother and father divorced and his mother left him, Ali was left alone with his father who was never home due to work. This and his above average intelligence created his uninterested outlook towards life. The only joy he got was when he met his father's family in Lebanon, a county in the Middle East, there he would have fun with his cousins and cherish the love he got from his grandparents, these moments were very important in the young boys hearts as they were never found in his home.

Walking down the empty street to his school, Ali takes a corner when suddenly a women in a black suit who was panting heavily bumped into him and they both fell on the ground, Ali felt pain in his chest where the women crashed into him.

He looked behind him only to find the back of the women who kept running as she didn't bother to even apologise or even help a kid up.

'Why was she running and why did she look so sacred?' Ali thought.

He had developed a skill in knowing how someone felt from the expression on their face since he always put on a fake smile and lied about going out with his family on trips to his classmate and just so he can fit in with them and avoid getting bullied.

Ali stood up and cleaned the dirt off his pants, he grabbed his school bag from the ground only to notice that the zipper was opened when he was sure that he closed it before coming out.

He checked the inside of the bag only to find a small metal box with a sign that resembled a snake on a crown.

He didn't know it got there, his first instinct was the women but he couldn't find her, she ran away too fast.

While he was busy thinking, three men wearing the same suit as the women from before appeared. They were following her trail of blood that lead them to 100 meters from Ali. One of them noticed the boy on the ground looking in his bag and signalled for the other two o follow.

In a moment they were right behind Ali who couldn't even hear the sound of their footsteps.

Ali who was busy looking inspecting the box without taking out the bag noticed three shadows over his head.

From his surprise he turned around really fast with the bag in his hand, only to see three guys looking at the floor in-front of him, he followed their eyes to the ground where he found the content of his bag all on the ground including the box.

Ali was scared, the stuff that happened to him in the last five minutes were very strange for a kid to understand.

He looked up only to find three men staring at him with hostile eyes lime a viper ready to strike.

He quickly turned around and tried to run because he knew these men meant to harm him, but suddenly he couldn't feel the ground, one of the men caught him and held him in the air from the back of his neck which hurt him alot.

"Where did you get this box kid?"

"I just found it in my bag after a women bumped into me" Ali didn't even try to hide the truth, he knew if he didn't answer honestly these men would hurt him.

"That bitch can't have gone far, you take the kid to the car and wait for us to catch her" one of the three men said that as he took out a gun and hit Ali in the head with the back of it.

......…..

......…..

......…..

Ali opened his eyes as he groaned from the pain in his head.

'Where am I'

'Why does this hurt so much'

'How long have i passed out for '

He tried looking forward but all he saw was total darkness.

Then he noticed something as he tried to move, he couldn't!

His legs were tied up together with metal chains and each hand was tied to a metal pole.

The boy was held in a crucifix position.

He was extremely scared and even started preying for God, he recited the prayers his grandmother taught him.

Suddenly he could hear a voice, it was the sound of someone walking in heels.

"CLICK CLACK CLICK CLACK"

Ali squinted his eyes to see who is coming towards him as his heart tightened with every step.
