Damsel in Distress (3)

Fear threatened to overtake her will, but she didn't cave in. There was a reason she couldn't. Death was far too easy to achieve, but freedom was not.  Talia didn't escape her father's grasp in order to just be killed under another's hands.

Shaking her head as if to chase away the dizzy spell that was taking root inside her, Talia braced herself for the incoming attack. Her instinct screamed at her to run as he was not a being she could take on. If she does run, there will be no assurance she will survive. And surely, the Daeman wouldn't let her go so easily after taking a blow from her and even cutting his stomach.

As expected, the Daeman has already recovered from the shock that a mortal like her could inflict harm to him. A mortal his kind treated as a lowly scum of the Earth, they better get rid off if not for the Treaty still standing and halting them fron their savage and haphazardous intentions of wiping the entire Mortal Land off the map.
