The Trash of the Family (4) - 4

Yep, I was now a vampire, and one of the highest rank at that.

It was even to the point where my canines could be hidden, and that was why they hadn't shown when I looked at myself in the mirror earlier.

After all, I wasn't crazy enough to stab myself in the heart if I didn't know that there was at least an 80% chance that I was this type of vampire.

I mean, if I wasn't this type of vampire, then I probably would have been put into a coma after stabbing myself in the heart, as the heart was the weak point of vampires, and if a vampire's heart was completely crushed, even the Progenitor himself would be killed.

And I had confirmed it after stabbing myself in the heart whilst only sustaining minimal damages, I was past the realm of human mortality as of right now.

Letting out a long breath, I then flopped back down onto my bed, my eyes being able to see perfectly, as if there was sunlight everywhere, even though I was in a completely dark room with almost no light being able to make it past the heavy blinds that covered the colossal windows.

As my blood red eyes shined through the darkness, I thought about how lucky I had been.

I mean, first off, I had somehow been able to obtain a fair amount of High Level Vampire blood from the "Aeronwen Vault".

Well, it was probably considered almost like trash in that vast sea of treasures, but still, it was extremely valuable in the outside world, and I had probably only been able to obtain it due to my status as the only real son of Glenn Aeronwen.

I would never have been able to obtain it even if I was an adopted child with more talent than my previous body, unless I had completed an extraordinary achievement beforehand.

That was probably the luckiest part of the whole of my plan, as the rest had just been mostly up to my own abilities and knowledge, as I had prepared my body by relaxing all my muscles to quickly absorb the max level potion, greatly increasing the effects, and I had also used a Moonsbane Flower which had special properties that would only be discovered in the future, only after most of the flowers had been destroyed by Vampires not wanting humans to get their hands on them.

Anyways, with all these factors in place, including the use of the max level Talent Awakening Potion, I had turned my supposed transformation into only a Mid Level Vampire after ingesting High Level Vampire blood, into a transformation into a Patrician Level Vampire, the highest level of vampire in this world aside from the God of the Vampires, the Progenitor.

Well, that was all generic stuff that I really didn't have any time to talk about right now, as the first order of business was building up my resistance to the sun.

Yes, even Patrician Level Vampires couldn't naturally stand in the sun, and only the Progenitor could.

But, there really was an easy cure to this problem, and that was by drinking a special liquid, "Sun Whiskey".

Like the name suggested, the whiskey actually contained a small refined ray of the sun in it and was considered one of the most high-end whiskeys that a normal person could afford.

And well, with my status, I could buy hundreds of bottles of Sun Whiskey.

So I did, buying a "healthy" amount of 999 bottles of Sun Whiskey last week before storing them all in my closet.

This also reminded me of the fact that I needed to buy a bunch of Moonsbane flowers too, as I would need to get to smoking them in the future.

Although, at the current moment, all I had to do was drink drink drink, until all of it was gone.

...

One Week Later:

You know, I really hated my name.

I mean, who would actually name their child "Mesanney" out of all the good names available?

That was probably the biggest source of resentment that I held to my parents, but now, that didn't matter anymore, as I had been noticed by THE Glenn Aeronwen, and now, I was officially the 8th Son of the Aeronwen Family.

And today would be my first day at the "Ranch", where I would spend the 5 years until I turned 15 training without restraint and regard for my body.

I had been recognized by the patriarch of one of the Big 3 families after all, and so, I had to do anything and everything I could to fulfill his wishes.

I would never, ever let him down for accepting me into this family.

There was just no way that my character would allow it.

That was why I was about to undergo a painful procedure, one that would make me fully human.

Sitting down in a chair, I let the two maids that had been assigned to me do what they wanted, as they removed all the bright colors from my hair by bleaching it completely black.

Then, they started the painful process in which they removed all mechanical enhancements that had been made on my body, as many of my metal bones were taken out, high end potions being poured on the wounds so that natural bones could grow and reform in their rightful places.

After the process of regaining my natural bones was finished, they went on to remove my prosthetic eyeballs and poured potions in the two gaping holes, giving me my original eyes back.

(A/N: They live in a cyberpunk era like time, so it's normal for most humans to be part machine.)

Heavily gasping from the painful experience that I had just been subjected to, I let my sweat run down my body as the maids eventually took turns bringing buckets over to the chair I was in to wash me off, not being able to move after the strenuous procedure I had just finished.

Finally, after some time recuperating, I dressed myself again and allowed myself to be led to a teleportation gate to an area past Wall Christus, to the "Ranch".

So, with a heavy heart and a clear mind, I stepped into the teleportation circle that would take me to my future.

And, as I stepped in, a fleeting question flashed across my mind.

'Hmm... didn't they say that I would have a "big" brother there? He's supposed to be seven years younger than me, but because he was accepted into the family first, he is regarded as the older brother. I wonder what he's like?'

But, as I opened my eyes and stepped out of the portal, I saw a scene that I never thought I would see in my life, a scene that completely ruined my perfect image of the Aeronwen family.

You see, there, in front of me, was a child no older than 5, dressed in pale white clothes, with striking red/black eyes and completely white hair, almost as if it was shining.

Yet, this wasn't the surprising part for me, as many in the city of Lumi had an "interesting" choice in bodily fashion, and this was a lot better than some others.

The thing that really tripped me up was the demeanor of the child.

He looked haggard, his clothes were sloppily put on, his eyes were unfocused, and he was, tipsy?

Yes, he was definitely drunk, I could smell the alcohol on his breath from here.

And finally, something clicked, as I realized the identity of the child standing in front of me.

'The 7th Son, Chione Aeronwen, the trash of the Aeronwen Family.'

I immediately started looking down on him with disgust.

...

"Has the 8th son settled in yet?"

"Yes, there have been no complications with his transition."

"And his parents?"

"Killed, thrown into a ditch in the Gray Area."

"Hmm... And what about the 7th son, Chione? He should have at least awakened some talent after ingesting that precious liquid."

"After taking the Talent Awakening Potion, well, the best way to describe the 7th Young Master would be, "weird". He is neither, visibly, a better talent, nor is he a worse one."

"What do you mean?"

"He's taken to drinking whiskey as a substitute for any other liquid or food."

"But?" There was obviously a caveat to the statement made before, or else something terrible would have already happened at the Ranch.

The person dressed in an impeccable black and white suit standing behind my desk, smiled.

"His fighting prowess, although it lacks grace and elegance, it's definitely grown, and by a lot at that."

Hearing this, I matched my butler's smile, as I grinned myself, before bursting into a full on hearty guffaw.

'That child… he's finally growing up after all these years, isn't he.'

(A/N: Yes, the period at the end of the sentence is intentional.)

'I can't wait to see what he will become.'

That was my last thought before I teleported away.

I needed to report this to "him".
