ALEXANDRA'S POV
It was noon and I was sitting in the seat by the helm with Alison asleep in my arms. I guess she hadn't slept much this week, because if she has, she'd be playing right now.
After I don't know exactly how long, some hands caress my arms and even though I got scared and moved away at first, I soon relax because I know Hugo won't do anything to me.
"What is it that has you so thoughtful?" Hugo asked from behind me "At this very moment nothing." I said surprised I wasn't thinking about anything. I can't remember the last time I was able to be so clear-headed, "Then I'm wrong." He said and I shrugged, "Probably."
"Listen love, can we talk about something without you getting upset?" I rolled my eyes, and not because of him, but because I was pretty sure Megan had suggested taking therapy again. She always did it when something bothered me too much or shocked me. "If it's about therapy, you can tell Megan to come ask me herself." I said almost coldly. Hugo really wasn't to blame for anything "How come what...?" He started and I turned my head to see him, at least a little. "Because whenever something shocks me like the Stefan thing did, it always brings up I need therapy, and as she knows, the answer is the same."
"So, I tell her you don't want to do it, right?" he said, and it seemed like he wasn't joking too much for saying it somehow "No, just tell her if she wants to talk about it, she can come and tell me herself." I said trying to change the subject "Okay, I'll tell her. But can I give you my point of view on therapy?"
I shrugged, because I really didn't care, and I wanted to know what he meant when he said give me his point of view "If that's what you want." I said calmly. In that, he moved and stood in front of me, he extended his hand and took it keeping the other one on Alison's back so she wouldn't fall.
"I know you don't like to talk about what you went through in there, and I understand, but I tell you from experience, it helps a little to manage everything you have inside." I frowned upon hearing he said from experience, but I must also say my interest was piqued "From experience?" I asked and he nodded.
"Yes… Let's say when I was in the navy, they kidnapped me… it was for a couple of months and I'm not saying it compares to what you had to go through, because what you went through is much worse, but it helps you. You don't even have to talk about what happened in there." He said and it surprised me a lot. Since when did we not have to talk about what happened in there? "Oh, no?" I asked and he denied "No, any psychologist you meet tells you that."
"Everyone we had just wanted us to talk about what we went through in there." Hugo frowned for a moment, but soon returned to his serious face "Well, that's something they told me that shouldn't be talked about, only if the patient wants to. But the point is, you don't have to talk about what happened in there if you don't want to. I'm sure Fabio won't make you talk about it at any time."
"Do you think that will help me?" I asked trying to find out what his opinion was on all this "I'm completely sure about that, but if you don't want to do it that's fine. You can talk to me whenever you want."
"Would you tell someone?" I asked again. It wasn't one of my favourite options, but I could contemplate it after thinking about the possible consequences of Hugo knowing everything that happened in there. "I wouldn't tell anyone." He said denying and I nodded "I'll think about it." I said, refocusing my gaze on the ocean, " I love you, Alexandra." He said giving me a kiss on the temple. "I love you too." I leaned into him more and relaxed enough that only Megan noticed.
At that moment a strange noise makes us turn towards the back of the boat, causing Alison to wake up and my mother go on deck and go to where I suppose the engine is. As soon as she opens a small door in the ground, a little smoke begins to come out of there and the boat ends up stopping.
"Mom, what happened?" I asked approaching where she was "I think our boat has broken down." I kept looking at where the smoke was coming from and closed my eyes for a moment thinking what the hell would we do now "How damaged?" I asked calmly "Yeah. We're going to have to find a way to fix it."
"I can do it." Hugo said and we both turned in his direction surprised he could do it, or at least try to "Really?" asked Analissa. "Let's just say that when I was in the navy, sometimes helped the mechanics. And you can say I like the theme of boats and engines." He said with a small smile, "Then go ahead." Analissa pointed to where the engine was and turned around, while Alison hugged my legs, probably scared by all the smoke.
"Alison, why don't you go help your grandmother with the food while I help your father fix the boat?" He stared at me for a couple of seconds and ended up nodding, smiling when she realized Analissa was going to go to the kitchen. "You don't have to help me, love." Hugo started, but I turned and raised an eyebrow daring him to say anything else, which brought a big smile to his face, "I'll probably end up being more of a nuisance than anything else, but at least I can give you what you need."
"Okay, if that's what you want to do." He said and I nodded. Alison had run off to my mother's side a couple of minutes ago to help her with the food. Hugo stepped away from where the boat controls were and placed his hand on mine.
"Where are the tools?" he asked. "In the kitchen." I said and I couldn't help but laugh at the moment he was surprised "Why do you have the tools in the kitchen?" he asked, and I shrugged my shoulders "I have no idea, it's my parents' thing. I guess it's because all the utensils are there... The truth is I have no idea." I said, still laughing, "Well, let's go get them."
We walked to the kitchen holding hands, and as soon as we got to the kitchen, I could see the smile stayed on the faces of both my mother and Megan who, instead of helping her, was playing with Alison. It didn't take long for my mother to hand us the tools, and we went back to where the engine was. Hugo climbed into the gap there and set the toolbox on the deck.
"Love, you don't have to help me." He said once more "I know, but I'll do it anyway. Tell me what you need." I said rolling up my sleeves. Even though everyone was wearing short sleeves, it was the rare one I did, I didn't want anyone to see or focus too much on my scars. "It gives me the feeling there's a little water here. That's probably why it fumes."
"And that's why it stopped?" I asked curiously "No, I turned it off to prevent it from getting worse if the engine is damaged." He said and I nodded "So, what could be the cause of the water getting in?"
"Do you understand anything about boats or engines?" he asked raising his gaze to mine and I denied it with a big smile on my face "Well, basically, the engine has a part is responsible for evacuating the water enters the engine compartment. Water can get in, one or because the hole through which the water comes out is clogged by something, or two, because a nut was loosened in that part of the engine or burned."
"In case it burned, what would happen?" I asked fearing I wouldn't like the answer too much "We could have a problem if we had a long way to go, but it's not that much, and it could be solved by removing the water manually. Not so much water enters for the ship sinks." He said quietly, "What will you do first?" I asked, "Go to the water and find the hole through which the water comes out of the boat."
I froze for a second and a shiver ran through my entire body. "Are you going to get in the water?" I said with my voice shaking a little "Yes, why?" asked Hugo with a frown. "Aren't you afraid there's something in there that could hurt you?" I tried to focus on something other than the water itself "Love, don't worry, there's nothing in this area that can hurt me." He said with a smile "Do you promise?" I asked and he nodded "I promise."
"Can you at least take Diego with you? He understands boats." I said, "If you stay calmer that way, I'll do it." I smiled, because that was something that reassured me a little "You will, thank you." I gave him a little kiss "Anything for my queen."
"I'm going for Diego." I said about to get up "What do you need me for?" Diego said next to us and "You saved me the trouble of calling you, thanks Diego." I smiled at him, and he frowned. "Why do I get the feeling I'm not going to like the idea of what you want to tell me?" he asked, and I smiled more "Because you won't."
"What do you want, Alexandra?" she asked crossing her arms. "I want you to get in the water with Hugo." I said and first he opened his eyes wide and then he started to deny "What? The water must be freezing, and you know perfectly well I hate cold water."
"I know, but..." I started, but Diego stopped me before "But nothing Alexandra, no way am I going into frozen water like this should be." He said and I knew there was going to be no way to convince him, so I was not going to have any other option "Okay, you won't interfere, I'll go." I said as calmly as I could "Love, you don't have to, I'll be fine." Hugo said, I guess noticing how I tensed up again "I don't care, I'm not going to let you go in there alone."
"I like that idea better, as long as it doesn't involve getting into the frozen water down there." Diego said with a big smile, and I denied. It was never too late to overcome an extreme fear of something, right? "Are you sure you want to do it? You don't have to get involved if you don't want to." He asked and I nodded "Believe me, cold water is the last thing I want, but I don't like the idea of you getting into the water by yourself." I said seriously "Okay, shall we go then?" he asked, and I nodded. Time to overcome one of my great fears and maybe get closer to one of my great passions when I was little.
HUGO'S POV
I have no idea why Alexandra was so afraid I would get into the water, and I could tell she wasn't too enthusiastic about getting into the water either, and not because it was cold.
I went up on deck and went to the platform at the rear of the boat and took off my T-shirt. I turned to see where Alexandra was, and I could see she was staring at the water too thoughtfully.
"Could you turn around?" she asked, and I nodded "You don't have to be ashamed, I won't look at anything you don't want." I said trying to calm her down at least a little "Please Hugo..." she pleaded, and I nodded again turning around and looking towards the ocean.
There was nothing to be seen, only water. I'm not going to say I don't like the view, because I like it, especially since it's a quiet place. I was so deep in my thoughts I didn't realize someone was next to me until I heard a splash. I look down and see Alexandra brushing away the water falling on her face.
"You could have warned me, and we would both get in together." I said with a small smile, and I could see her shrugging, "It wasn't necessary, plus you seemed too deep in your thoughts to bother." She said with a big smile on his face, making mine grow larger "You would never bother me, love."
I also got into the water, and we swam to the right side of the boat, because I had the feeling the hole was on this side. We swam for a couple of minutes until I found something like the hole through which a little water came out.
I started to get everything outside and slowly, more water began to come out. Once I was sure I had gotten everything out of the hole, I turned to see Alexandra, who looked a little upset and breathing a little faster than normal.
"Love, are you okay?" I asked seeing her a little pale "Yeah... just... it's been too long since I got in the water." She said and something told me it wasn't really because of the water "Why do I get the feeling you're scared of something?" I ended up asking her, approaching her and running my hands through her arms "I am. When I was little, I used to go to the beach with my aunt, and after I got out of that hell, I used to go to the beach, but I couldn't get into the water."
"Why?" I asked curiously "One of the tortures they did to me was to put me in a kind of tank with salt water... filled to the top with nothing to help me breathe... and when I was about to run out of air, they emptied the tank a little allowing me to breathe, but not for long." I hugged her. I know it was hard for her to talk about what happened to her in there, but little by little, she was opening up, and I couldn't do anything other than listen and comfort her in some way.
"Love, I won't let anything happen to you again, I promise. Do you want to get out of the water?" She kept thinking for a moment and then something like a small smile appeared on her face "I would like to, but I also want to be in here, I haven't enjoyed the water in a long time."
"You can always come in later." I said thinking what to do so she's not as scared as she's right now "Would you come in with me? I feel safer with you by my side."
"You don't even have to ask that. I will always be with you, I love you, and I will be by your side whenever you want." I said hugging her "I love you, Hugo." She said with a small smile on her face and moving closer to me "I love you, Alexandra."
"Shit, Diego was right, the water is frozen." I laughed, because if I knew something about Alexandra, it was she hated cold, and I highly doubt whatever they did to her, is the complete cause of why she hates it "It's not that bad." I said as serious as I could "Are you not feeling the cold or what?" she asked turning away from me with a frown. "For me the water is at the ideal temperature." She rolled her eyes and I laughed, "You're crazy, I'm telling you." She said starting to swim towards the boat "Of course I am, but for you."
She stood for a moment turning in my direction with a small smile on her face and I couldn't be happier at this moment. I adored this woman more than anything in the world, really, and I know there was nothing I could do about it, not that I wanted to.
Alexandra began to swim again towards the platform of the boat, and as soon as she got on it, I couldn't help but stare at her. I don't know where all those scars had come from, but I could get a slight idea of where they had come from, making me angrier at those jerks more if it was possible. But despite all that, she still had a beautiful body.
It didn't take long for Megan to appear at her side in a bathrobe and helping her into it. I could see how, before making Alexandra walk, she looked at me threateningly, which I can't find a reason for.
I soon came out of my thoughts and did the same thing that Alexandra had done a couple of minutes ago and it doesn't take long for Diego to get to my side. "What have you done to make Megan angry? he asked with a frown. "As far as I know, nothing." I said with a shrug, "Well, I get the feeling she's mad at you." He said "But I haven't done anything, that's the thing." I tried to defend myself, because I hadn't done anything to upset her as far as I know.
"Hugo, I have to talk to you. Now." Both Diego and I look in the direction of Megan who doesn't take long to go to the front of the boat. Diego looks in her direction, and then at me again with a face of not understanding anything. I decided it was better to end all this before and I went to where Megan was looking at the horizon.
"What have I done to make you mad at me?" I asked and for a moment she stared at me without understanding what I was talking about "I'm not mad at you." She finally said, turning to face the ocean, "Then with whom?" I asked putting myself next to him "With nobody."
"It's not what it seems, but what do you want to talk about?" After all this time, I still didn't fully understand Megan, and I'm not sure if I ever will, but at least I could be calmer if we consider she wasn't angry with me. "It's about Alexandra's back, she doesn't like showing her scars."
"But they are a part of her." I said, "I know, but in Alexandra's mind anyone who sees her scars will reject her." I frowned, because I didn't understand how she could think that, at least not about me because I wouldn't even do such a thing "That's why you gave her the bathrobe." She nodded. "For that and to not have to kill Dimitri for what they did to her as his degenerate brother."
"I understand you perfectly." I said focusing my gaze back on the ocean "Listen, I know you'll take care of her and all, but can you do me a favour?" she asked and when I turned around, I could see she was looking at me "Whatever you want." I said, "Could you stop her from doing something stupid about the Dimitri thing?"
I frowned again, because I don't know what kind of stupid Alexandra could do now "What kind of stupid?" I asked "Alexandra has a big heart; we all know that. I don't want her to trust that guy no matter how much he's her uncle." He said and I know Alexandra will never trust that guy, not after all because of what she went through because of them "Do you think Dimitri wants to do something to him?"
"I'm not saying it's intentional but seeing how he got when he found out they were family, I don't trust he wouldn't hurt her in one of his outbursts." She said and I could see the pain in her eyes "I won't let him touch a single hair of hers." I said giving her a little squeeze on the arm and taking my hand out since I was more than clear she didn't like being touched for a long time either "I know, I just wanted to make sure." She whispers.
"Well, don't worry about it, I won't allow it even dead." I said, and it was true, before I kill that guy myself "Did you talk to her about therapy?" she asked and I nodded "Yes, I spoke, but she told me if you wanted me to ask her about it, you had to talk to her and not send me."
"Then she's going to deny me." She said with a sigh, "I trust not." I said convinced. Something told me she would accept "Did she tell you about going to therapy?" she asked hopefully "I can't tell you but go ask her. I trust this time she can accept."
"Okay, I'll go talk to her after lunch. Now better tell me how you got Alexandra into the water. Whenever we went to the beach or went out on the boat, she never wanted to interfere." She said curiously, "I didn't do anything. She come with me because Diego didn't want to come in and she didn't want me to go alone."
"Well, at least it seems Alexandra with you is losing her fears. She was terrified of water." She said with a small sigh, "I hope I can continue to help her in any way I can."
"You are doing it without realizing it. I've never seen her this happy." She said with a small smile on her face, and if I know anything, it's Alexandra is too good at hiding what she feels. If Megan says she's happier, it must be true, she's the only one who really knows her, at least really understands her, because the rest of us just try "I'm glad she is."
"Hugo?" Megan and I turned in the direction Alexandra's voice was coming from. I could tell she was somewhat upset, and the truth is, I have no idea why she is, if she was fine and happy until a couple of minutes ago. "Are you alright Ale?" Megan asked with a concerned tone. "I am." Alexandra said dryly "Well, let me tell you it's not what it seems, but if you don't want to talk to me, okay, I'll leave you with my brother-in-law."
With that, Megan left, and Alexandra went to the front of the boat, ending up leaning on the railing, staring at the ocean. I knew there was something bothering her, but I can't think of what, so I walked over to her and leaned on the railing next to her.
"Why is he annoyed?" she asked after a few minutes in silence "Who's upset?" I asked, trying to understand her "Dimitri... I went to see if he was okay, and she got kind of crazy he wanted me out of there... he didn't want to see me... why is he being annoying when the one who should be most upset is me?"
"I don't know why he does it, but according to what you said... Dimitri is one of the people who appreciates family more than anything... he must be having a hard time accepting you are his niece after everything he did to you in there." I told her even though I didn't agree with it "But the thing is I get it… since I've been with Analissa, Francesco, Megan and Alison I understand what a real family is, and I would kill for it… I just don't get what the fuck happens…"
"Love, I know you appreciate your family more than anything and you would do anything for them, but you must understand Dimitri and his brother gave you a hard time… that must be what is difficult for him to assimilate. He must be wondering how he didn't realize before you were families." I said, and even though it was taking me more than anything to say it, it was what she needed to hear at this moment in a certain way "This is bullshit... I just wanted to see if he was okay... nothing else..." she said practically in a whisper and I took her hand, giving it a little squeeze.
"Don't worry about that or him anymore...it's not worth it...better, why don't you show me the beautiful smile you have?" I said trying to cheer her up "I have no reason to smile right now." And I know she was serious, but I didn't want her to focus on the stupid Russian, so I had to find another way to make her feel better and focus on something else "Oh well, that's fixed right now."
"How?" she asked with some curiosity in her voice, but never turning in my direction, which makes it clear to me she didn't have her full attention. "Did I ever tell you about what happened at your parents' party one year?" I asked "No... why?" she said turning slightly in my direction. At least it had caught her attention a bit more.
"Well, I'll tell you. I think there was an hour before we had arrived at the party. Amelia, and I were running in every corner there was. I remember we stopped for about a minute to eat ice cream, but we started running with our ice creams in hand. My mom was trying to get us to stop running and jumping around, I don't even remember what we were playing anymore, but we switched when my chasing us until I bumped into someone. I must say your father scared me at that time, he had a very serious face." I said laughing "My father? Did you crash into him?"
At that moment, she stopped looking towards the horizon to look at me. I could see a sparkle of curiosity in her eyes and how a small smile was forming on her lips, but I wanted it to be a real one and now I had no choice but to tell her how ridiculous I made at the party for the person she considers her father. I nodded with a big smile on my face and glad I got her attention. "But why did he scare you?" she asked curiously.
"I already told you, your father at that time had a straight face, and my mother was ready to apologize for us, but your father stopped her and turned to look at me with a smile on his face." I said remembering that night "Didn't he tell you anything?" she asked "Oh, of course he told me. He challenged me to a race with ice cream in hand."
"What?" she said incredulously, and I remember the look on my mother's face as soon as Francesco said that "Yes, he told me I had to face the consequences of what I did. We made a deal and everything." I seriously said, "What deal?" she asked. "He told me if he won, I would have to clean his jacket and if I won, I could eat all the ice cream I wanted."
The sparkle of curiosity had appeared on her face and my smile widened, taking over my entire face. "And who won?" she asked "Me, but I'm pretty sure he let me win. After that, we played for an hour or more, I really don't remember. The only thing I do remember is everyone looked at him strangely for playing with us."
"Wasn't there another kid playing with you by any chance?" she asked again, and I denied. I don't remember seeing any children with us "No, I think Amelia and I were the only children at the party." She looked at the horizon for a couple of seconds again as if she's thinking about something and then, with a sad smile, she looked back in my direction with a shrug. "I guess it was after David died."
"The son they had?" I now asked curiously "Yes, according to them we helped them half get over his death." She said, "You love Analissa and Francesco very much, don't you?" I asked her, but she didn't need to tell me, because I already knew "Obviously, these are the parents I never had." She said shrugging her shoulders again "I have to ask you a question, love." I seriously said "Of what? Do I have to worry?" she asked, and I denied, because she didn't have to worry about anything.
"No, of course not, it's just curiosity." I said with a small smile "Then ask." She said, "Why when Analissa is around do you call her mom, and when you are not with her do you call her name?" I asked, because since I was home with them, I always noticed when she was with Analissa, she referred to her as mom, but when she talked to anyone other except her, she referred to her by name. That was one of the differences between her and Megan.
"Let's just say it took me a long time to let them get close to me, even though I knew they only wanted to help me. Megan already fully trusted them, for her age at that time, I think about sixteen, they were already her parents to her. You will never hear Megan call them by name. The point is, I remember a day I don't know where it came from, but I decided to hug Francesco. At that moment of the two of us, he was the only one who hadn't been able to give me a hug or get close to me. That day he cried like anything was more important than me hugging him and while I was trying to calm him down, I called him dad. I don't think I've ever seen someone cry so much in my life. I thought I had said or done something wrong, but he assured me it was tears of joy that I called him daddy and hugged him." She said with a small smile on her face "It's a nice story."
She nodded with the smile still on her face, which made me very happy "But you know, I achieved my goal, you are smiling, let me tell you it's the most beautiful smile I have ever seen in my life." I said, "You are a drama queen, Hugo." She laughed, and now I could really relax "But just a little bit." I said making the gesture with my index finger and thumb.
I moved away from the railing and went behind her hugging her and resting my chin on her shoulder. I passed my hands around her waist and brought her toward me. Alexandra doesn't take long to put her hands on mine, and leans on my chest.
"I have no idea how you do it, but you manage to calm my anger down to nothing." She said and I could hear the smile still on her face "Well I like hearing that." We stayed there for a couple of minutes in silence, until Alexandra turned slightly to the right. "Guys, it's time to eat." I hear somewhere Analissa say.
"I think it's better we go eat, because if your mother does the same as mine, she'll be angry if we don't go right now." I said and she laughed, "She won't, but it's Megan and Alison who will be mad if we don't hurry." She said following the game "Do they get mad about that?" I asked confused "No, they get upset because until we're all at the table my mother won't let them eat, that's why." Alexandra said with a big smile on her face "Then let's not keep our princess waiting."
I separated from her and stretched out my arm for her to take my hand, which she ended up doing and we went prow where we ate. During the meal it was all laughter, and I could see Alexandra had relaxed, which made me happy. After we finished eating, Alexandra and I went to put Alison down for nap time, and as soon as we left Megan takes her to talk, so I head to the engine room to make sure everything is okay, and the water is all out and to be able to turn on the boat to continue our way.
MEGAN'S POV
After talking with Hugo, I decided it was better I ask Alexandra myself, I hoped this time she would accept. When she and Hugo left Alison's room, I didn't even give her the option to say goodbye, I took Alexandra by the arm and took her to the stern where we could talk without any problem.
"I suppose you want to talk about the therapy you want us to do, but you know full well what I think of that Megan." She said exasperated "I know what you think, believe me, I know it better than anyone, but I also know you talked to Hugo about it." I said, "If you really wanted me to convince you, you are wrong."
"I know it's difficult to convince you of it, but I can assure you after talking about it you feel better." Alexandra frowned and crossed her arms. "Are you going to tell me you're going to therapy?" She said without fully believing what she was hearing "Well yes, since you told me Fabio was different from the others we had, he's helping me."
"And in what exactly?" she asked, and even though she was trying to hide her curiosity, she wasn't going to be able to "At all. He doesn't make me talk about what happened in there if that's what you're worried about, and I'm not saying it to convince you, I mean it. Nightmares don't scare me as much anymore." I said shrugging. It was great to be able to sleep several nights in a row without being frightened by nightmares. "What?" She whispers.
"Yes, I can't tell you why, but they don't scare me like before. Before terminating the therapy, he makes me say I'm healthy and safe, you will all worry about me in case I disappear out of nowhere." I said, "And does it really help you?"
"I don't know if it's what makes me say or not, but it helps me. What's more, it's helping Jennifer a lot. She seems to be able to talk about what happened in there." That was something surprised me a lot, and more what she says. I still couldn't believe how different our experiences were in there. "Tell me at least it wasn't as bad as we had to go through."
"No, they practically only forced them to have sex, no torture. Apparently, a man was helping them. It gives me the feeling I know who he is." I said with a shrug, and it didn't take long for shock to creep onto her face, and then disbelief, which I knew she was going to do, "What are you talking about, Megan?" She asked.
"I never told you about the guy, but when we were in there, a guy I was supposed to sleep with just wanted to talk. And then there was another, one of the Russians was pointing it at his head so he would rape me, but despite, he refused. Oddly enough, they didn't kill him, and then he would occasionally come at night when we should be asleep. I said like it was nothing, but it had been important to me, even today. "Just talk? And they didn't kill him?" she asked in disbelief "Yes, I know it sounds strange, but he was a nice guy and sometimes he healed the wounds he saw on me. I'd like to find him one day and thank him for what he did in there. And the other man was nicer than this one. Do you remember there were times when I gave you chocolate or something else?" I asked her and she nodded "Well, the man brought it to me at night."
"Do you know the name of any of them?" she asked crossing her arms. "The first was called Carlos, and the second was David." I said, "And the one who visited you at night, did he go very often?" She kept asking "Not at first, but when you made the deal with the Russians, he came practically every night. He always told me he would find time in the night to come and see me, and one day he would get both you and me out of there.
"The two of us?" she asked incredulously "Yes, let's say I told him about you, and he set out to get us out of there. David was a great guy." It was so true, sometimes I dreamed of him, and Alexandra didn't need to know we were a couple in a way. "Did you hear from him once we got out of there?" she asked, and I could see she was starting to put together a plan in her head for I don't know what "No, but sometimes I dream he keeps coming to see me at night."
"That's impossible and you know it." She said, focusing on me again "I know, but I like to think he does." I said with a shrug, "And the other one?" she asked. "That one in the last few months we were there, didn't come again."
"Do you think the Russians did something to him?" she asked and I denied, because I had no idea. "I hope not, but I really don't know." I said "We can look for them once we get to land, I would also like to thank them for taking care of you and not forcing you to sleep with him." She said with a real smile "Are we really going to look for them?" I asked now, not believing what she was saying "Sure, it's the first time when you name someone your eyes light up like they are doing right now. Above all, with David."
"What are you taking about?" I asked confused and hoping she wasn't referring to whatever she was doing. "Did you have feelings for that boy Megan?" she asked straight to the point "Who? I? How am I going to feel anything for someone I don't know?"
"I felt something for Hugo without giving me the slightest idea from the beginning and I didn't have the slightest idea. The same thing could have happened to you because of that boy." She said as if nothing had happened, but with a big smile on her face when naming her boyfriend "I don't know Ale, but let's stop talking about it and better answer me if you'll at least think about the therapy."
"Okay, I don't lose anything by trying." She said with a shrug, "Really?" I asked with a smile beginning to appear on my face "Seriously, but I don't do it alone, I'll tell you that in advance."
"You won't do it alone, I promise. If you want, Jennifer can be there too." I said "Yeah, I'd like to hear what the fuck all that changed after we ran away." I smiled, because I had achieved what I've been trying to get her to do with me for years, at least this time we had a real psychologist who could really help us. "Deal, I'll talk to Fabio. Do you want it to be this afternoon?"
"Not this afternoon, I have something to do." She said with a smile "Okay, tomorrow?" I asked matching her smile "Tomorrow would be great." She said nodding "Perfect, I'll talk to Fabio, I love you sister." I told her giving her a hug "I love you too, Megan." She responded by giving it back to me.
When we parted ways I went looking for Fabio. I had practically been all over the boat and there was no trace of Fabio, so I went to the place where the rudder was located, where it was not there either, but from there I could see Alexandra, who had Dimitri's hands on her neck. Not long after that, I hear a scream, and I know damn well it's Alison's. From the sound, I knew she was terrified, so I quickly got off the wheel to go to where Alison was to get her out of there and help Alexandra, this bastard would die today.
By the time I get to Alison, it doesn't take long for the rest to get to me, and from the look on my mom's face I know she's scared, so I tell her to take Alison somewhere else and try to calm her down a bit while we fix this.
"Dimitri, let go of Alexandra." Fabio said calmly "I DON'T INTEND TO RELEASE HER, SHE'S LYING THAT WE ARE FAMILY. THIS LIAR DESERVES TO DIE." The stupid Russian yelled "Dimitri stop saying stupid things." I told him through my teeth, because he couldn't be that stupid.
I looked to my side and I could see how angry Hugo was, and I'm sure if Diego didn't have a hold of him, he would go for that guy to kill him with his bare hands, but I know Diego also had the same desire to Hugo, only he should be holding on to see if Fabio would calm him down, after all, we needed him to kill his brother.
But, on the other hand, we had to get rid of him, because I know at any moment Alexnadra would pass out from lack of oxygen, and I was not going to allow her to pass in front of me, so I went up to Diego and took the weapon he had it in the waistband of his pants and I started to approach Dimitri pointing it directly between the eyebrows.
"Either you let go of my sister or you don't count another day in this world, Dimitri." I said and he laughed like the psychopath he was "KILL ME, I DON'T WANT TO BE IN THIS WORLD ANYMORE, BUT I WARN YOU ABOUT SOMETHING, IF YOU KILL ME, YOU KILL YOUR SISTER." He said, which made me not pull the trigger at that moment "And how do you intend to do it if you're dead?" I asked, "Megan, drop the gun. Don't make things more complicated." Fabio started, but I ignored him, things couldn't be worse than they already are "KILL HIM NOW, MEGAN." Hugh yelled.
I didn't look away for a single second from Alexandra, and the moment I see her nod to the last thing Hugo said, I shoot Dimitri between the eyebrows. What happened after that, was all in slow motion. Dimitri falls backwards taking Alexandra with him and they both fall into the water. Both Hugo and Diego don't take much longer to throw themselves behind them and I was going to do the same until Fabio stops me.
"LET ME GO FOR MY SISTER, FABIO." I yelled trying to get out of his grip "Diego and Hugo already went; I assure you nothing will happen to your sister. Let me tell you, you have good aim." He said, but at this moment I didn't care about anything other than Alexandra "I just hope that bullet cost my sister her life." I said in a whisper, but Fabio denied "You'll see it doesn't, but whatever happens, you did what she said."
We saw how a couple of times both Diego and Hugo came to the surface to get air and my hopes were losing until Hugo came out of nowhere with Alexandra and began to swim towards the stern. Fabio and I run away and as soon as Hugo arrives, we help him get Alexandra up who wasn't breathing.
Fabio begins to give her mouth-to-mouth and CPR, because apparently the heart wasn't pumping either, but Diego soon replaces him and sends Fabio to go get a few things, the truth is, I have no idea what he sent for, but after a few seconds that seemed like forever, Fabio appears with everything he asked for.
I don't know exactly how much time passed when Alison appears crying, and much more when she sees her mother on the ground, but before she can get to her, Hugo stops her and hugs her to try to calm her down, I could see he was saying things to her, but I couldn't hear any, and a few seconds later, my mother stands next to me with tears in her eyes and hugs me, which makes me cry. I am the culprit of Alexandra's death, that is the only thing that is clear in my mind.
