Chapter 2

"Is she the woman you wanted me to meet?"

Marcus' voice is cold and threatening, yet seductive.

"Shelina Aston, my lover, and future wife," Andrew replied firmly.

Marcus made a sarcastic grin.

Staring at Shelina with sharp eyes that quickly turned arrogant and dismissive, making Shelina uncomfortable.

Shelina has forgotten about it after five years.

But why did his contemptuous looks make Shelina's heartache?

Was it because he was a former acquaintance of Shelina's?

Was it because he used to have faith in Shelina?

"You're insane! You intend to marry her. Is that woman better suited to be your daughter?"

His pointed disapproval was directed at Shelina.

"Watch what you say, Marcus."

Andrew warned Marcus of his words in a low, threatening voice.

"Watch my word?"

Marcus raised an eyebrow at Andrew.

"I don't mind if you marry a b*tch. However, I do not want a stepmother who is younger than me."

Marcus yelled angrily.

"You, too!

How low can you go to marry an old man who is more deserving of being your father?!"

Marcus's voice was low, full of thorns in every word, and Shelina's eyes were filled with contempt and condescension.

It's like looking at a filthy and disgusting homeless person who has just emerged from a dump.

Shelina realized why her heart ached so much when Marcus said those fiery, piercing words.

Shelina had never forgotten Marcus, even though he had been missing for five years.

Marcus is still in Shelina's heart, despite the fact that he broke his promise.

Even though Andrew was by her side, Shelina couldn't forget the first man who taught her love, sex, and pain.

Shelina's heart is in a lot of pain.

Marcus insulted her; Shelina can put up with it when everyone does, but not Marcus.

Shelina's body began to shake even more violently.

Her eyes were filled with tears that were ready to fall at any time.

Marcus fixed his hateful gaze on Shelina.

Shelina was the most despicable foe he had ever encountered.

The man then stood up and exited the room.

Shelina's tears fell when the door was closed tightly.

Marcus had never previously snapped, gotten angry, or insulted Shelina. This is the first time and it hurts so much.

~~~ Flashback March 2010 ~~~
Shelina took a deep breath and placed the novel she was reading on the table.
In this library, she was the only one. Quiet and silent. Shelina's watch indicated that it was five o'clock in the afternoon.
Shelina exhaled another tired sigh.
Tired of waiting for someone who never appears.
Shelina had been waiting for Marcus in the campus library for more than two hours.
Shelina, too, has finished the novel she started earlier.
What happened to that guy? He said his class would end at four o'clock in the afternoon, but there was no sign of him by five o'clock.
Marcus should have said something or not asked Shelina to wait if he couldn't go home with her.
You're a jerk! Marcus is a jerk!
From behind, two hands suddenly covered Shelina's eyes. Her vision instantly darkened.
Shelina remained silent, attempting to calm down despite the fact that she was scared given the library's quiet state.
There wasn't a single student at this long table.
What if the person behind Shelina is evil?
What if he's planning to kidnap or rape her?
Shelina gripped both hands tightly and tried to pull them apart, but she couldn't.
The man's grip was too strong for her to close her eyes.
Shelina remained silent, a gust of warm breath hit behind her ear, and her body shook slightly from the sudden stimulus.
The scent of cinnamon and mint awoke her.
Shelina softly smiled as she realized who was behind her.
"Marcus!"
Shelina was irritated.
"Yes, how did you find out?"
Marcus is speechless.
Her eyes were opened by his hands.
"Hei! Don't try to change the subject. Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting for you here?"
Shelina yelled angrily, looking back.
Marcus smiled at Shelina with innocence.
Irritating!
Shelina wanted to strangle him until he was out of breath, but she loved Marcus too much to ever hurt him.
His arms were now around her shoulders.
He even leaned his chin against it.
His brow furrowed slightly.
His warm breath caressed the back of her neck.
"I apologize for keeping you waiting any longer."
His soft voice rendered her speechless.
What's the matter with him?
He appeared to be having difficulties and problems until Shelina forgot her rage and annoyance.
"What's the matter, hmm?"
Shelina lifted her hand to stroke his silky hair.
Marcus remained silent, his tired eyes closed.
Shelina waited for an answer.
Marcus raised his head to look at Shelina with sad eyes. His eyes brightened a split second later.
"I miss you," Marcus said softly, with a big smile that was always contagious, making women snort in disbelief.
Shelina had thought he was in trouble....
Shelina smiled broadly, unable to hold her rage against him for long.
It was as if all her rage and irritation had vanished in the breeze. Shelina turned to face him and hugged him right away.
"I miss you too."
Shelina wrapped her arms around his waist.
Marcus's hugs were usually warm.
Shelina dozed off and closed her eyes, content.
Marcus' aroma is so enticing that it floods her nostrils and recharges her vitality.
Marcus gradually relaxed his grip. But the man did not move. Marcus locked his gaze on Shelina.
Shelina drifted away in the darkness, his pitch-black eyes leaving the girl lost and unsure of her way home.
Marcus's face gradually approached.
With his gaze fixed on Shelina's lips, caused Shelina to stare at his thick lips. His breath hit her in the face. As he got closer, it got warmer.
Shelina immediately closed her eyes, waiting for the softness of his thick lips.
Soft as cotton and chewy as jelly, Shelina's lips were perfectly matched.
Thousands of flowers are being delivered to the heart.
