This surprised everyone. Not only would her safety come into question, but why was she the one giving the orders? Everyone else looked to Damien for approval. Safira expected it to happen, after all, they were under his command.
Damien walked up to Safira, dismissing everyone else so that they could speak in private.
"Are you sure about this, Sunshine?" He asked her sternly.
She could tell he wasn't joking around. The way he held her hands so tightly, it was as if he was afraid of losing her forever.
"I'm sure of it. Greyson won't hurt me. But he will be wary of all of you," she assured him.
Damien sighed, he understood the situation. In the end, he agreed to do as Safira asked. Everyone retreated further and she went ahead alone. It didn't take long for her to find the clearing her father was in.
She was still a distance away when she heard him call out.
"Stop," his voice cut through the silence in the forest.
She knew it was him.
"Safy, is that really you?"
