CHAPTER 038: The Lucky One

Guide-sama: "Are you going to buy another batch of books?"

"No, once I'm done with this civil law, I'm going to take a rest from studying. I need to pay more attention to my poison consumption and potion brewing. I'm gonna rampage at the library at the Terra Palace once I'm settled. There are too many rare books there, right?"

Guide-sama: "For how long do you intend to keep on reading books?"

"I don't know, I'm not sure," Yanarym answered. "Learning new things has no end."

She was so sick and tired of reading these books too. That was why she needed a break.

Once the rest was over, she needed to read countless books again.

She knew the reality; it would be impossible for her to become a ruler with her current disposition.

If she didn't know how to counter the law that would prevent her from the ruling. She could never rise to the place where she intended to be. One of the best ways she could do to have the power was to win a battle of wits.

Yanarym remembered, that there were various distinctions of people.

There was a category Yanarym liked the most.

The lucky, and the unlucky ones.

Some people were called lucky and could get anything they wanted just wishing it to the star. They were the people who worked hard to get where they were, and people just see the highlight of it.

Some people watch other people achieve their dreams and call those people lucky. When in reality they were the people who somehow do minimal at anything and blame the unfortunate life on something or somewhere.

If Yanarym had a label of who she might be in those two types. She was mostly the second type. She rather felt miserable for minutes than consistently maintain a life that she cannot bring to her grave at all.

But she made a decision.

In this world, she wanted to become the lucky one.

The incredibly lucky one.

To achieve that luck, she could not just wait for a miracle. A miracle that did not exist at all. So, she had to work so hard to the point of collapsing and doing things she did not even like.

She would make history in this world as that first King did. She had to use any means necessary.

Caius was the 41st Generation of the Seerian monarchy crowned in the year 2022, which was a millennium ago establishing the monarchy in this world which was the year 1022.

Caius went on an adventure of his own in the year 2019, the revolution of the first King started in 1019. He was well accepted and regarded with respect in the monarchy because of the historically inclined timeline.

Everyone thought he was the reincarnation of the first King— which could be the truth.

Yanarym could not guarantee the answer because it was never revealed.

They just made it look like it, but it was never stated or never shown that he was the first King.

There was no further story that tells what happened to Seerian or Vortrion, or any three countries.

This book had not published Its side story. It just ended when Caius became the King.

The end.

The fact that Caius benefitted from the legend of the first King. Yanarym was thinking that she could benefit from it too.

After all, the notion of reincarnation did not limit the gender of a soul.

She could be that first King, who knows?

Guide-sama: "I thought you were gonna fight it with wits on the court?"

"Let's be realistic, okay? People like the idea of romanticism. Being the reincarnation of the first King. Wow, right? Nothing could beat that."

The year she came into this world was in the year 2019. It was the year when she would be starting to make her move from Menotalis to Toliream, then Dytalic, and lastly the Vortrion. She would do everything Caius did in the book, just an improved and better version.

Guide-sama: "If you're gonna do that, why bother studying and consuming all this poison to your body? You always said you wanted the uncomplicated way; you can just do what Caius did and live an easy life. You have me. You could cheat your way to the top."

Yanarym stopped scanning the book she was holding after hearing Guide-sama's lecture on her.

Guide-sama: "You don't have to go through all this agonizing torture. You are convulsing every night and still, you have to read that kind of book you never really enjoy. You're not doing something fun at all. I rather see you fool around with many men and roll over the sheets than watch you doing this torture to yourself."

Guide-sama was deeply worried for her this time. She could sense it, if she cannot know that much after hearing this kind of speech, she was just stupid and dense. She somehow felt that she needed to console Guide-sama. Although it was disparaging of her characteristics… she should overlook that part.

"Guide-sama, first of all… I don't 'fool around with many men and roll over the sheets.' I was just… conveying my love for them. You know… you know what I mean, right?"

Guide-sama: "No, I do not know."

"What I'm trying to say is sex is not just for fun, especially for me! Anyways! Listen."

Guide-sama: "What?"

"You have to understand that even if I could copy Caius and even if I have you to cheat my way to the top, I'm not that powerful. There are things that you could do for me, thank you for those. But there are fights that I have to face by myself. Also, copying Caius' journey is just imitation… I'm not just imitating him. He was trying to become the king of Vortrion. I am gonna be the king of Seerian. That's a stark difference." Yanarym explained. "I have to build my empire."
