Chapter 18: Sassy Lost Child

*About 1 month later*

Perseus POV

"Ok, remind me again of why you not only personally came to pick me up but also in the same carriage?"

Edward legit just gave me his silver token for nothing, well not really, since I can use it later down the road, but he went out of his way to come personally as one of the escorts, there were about 3 dozens participants for this noble adoption ceremony thing, even though only less than 10 actually wants or consider getting adopted.

Because after getting adopted, if they still have guardians, they are still allowed to visit their previous guardians from time to time, so it's a win-win for both sides if the child gets a wealthy noble to adopt them and give them their name. But most of us here just wants the attention of the top academies/schools or whatever.

Since the Zoris kingdom(Sometimes referred to as the western kingdom, or by us, the main kingdom) by the Tartians are hosting it, so they are in charge of transporting, including the ones from other continents.

And some of our watchers(Ridiculous names for scout/fighters/hunters/whatever, right?) will come along just to give us a sense of security.

"Well you are a lord now and constantly accompanied by milady, the guardian of the blue rose, that makes you someone of even higher status than me." Edward explained "It would be rude if I didn't have someone of at least a count title surrounded by some of our best guards to escort you."

"So you're saying, I can walk into the kingdom and shout 'worship me, bitches', and they will?"

Yes, my parents does not tolerate swearing, but they can't really say anything as the prince is here, and if I am of higher status...I just needed to test whether I actually am and see the limits.

"Well, yes? I'm not sure, maybe once people know your name and they will." he shrugged

"Oh yeah, your brother is agreeing to meet me, right?"

"Of course, though it seems my previous guess was right, he only received news that I met a smart boy and stumble upon the new and first lord of the blue rose, he will be expecting 2 guests."

"Oh that's funny, you get along with him well? Joke around?"

"Yes, why?" he questioned

"When you introduce all of us, don't say who's who, his reaction will be funny once he realized the lord is a kid."

"Oh, that is funny."

"So I'm curious, if we were to rank all the roses, who's the strongest and weakest?" I turned to Ruka.

I haven't asked that question because I already knew that the black and white roses were the strongest.

"Isn't it a tie with the black and white rose, red rose being the 3rd, the rest than followed, no offense, milady." Edward apologized

"That's about right." Ruka nodded "Us guardians are essentially both the rose and its spiritual manifestation at the same time, we know each other and regard each other as siblings, the 3 eldest were the triplets, black, white and red. Rowan being the eldest. He's the one who was with the first hero or whatever.

"But in terms of strength, he's the 3rd best, the white and black are unique and strongest, but if I had to rank them both, Leilah, the black rose, will be last standing if they were to fight head on, but Alban is better at healing than her, so it depends on preference since my sister got a better fighting prowess." she explained

I see, but the white rose choose lords from the moment of birth, so their names must be already known, I better get to know about em soon, but it's not really important for now.

I sort of just needs to be a bit stronger and grow quickly till the heroes arrive, they're granted that title, even as heroes weaken throughout time, they'll be gifted the moment they arrive, and I can already see 2 or 3 of them being kicked out the party, a healer, a blacksmith, and an appraiser, one of the 3 at least will be kicked off for being useless.

They will either turn evil, get a harem, turn out to be the strongest hero...all 3 or 2 of the 3, I mean, usually it's high school kids, but we're young adults, so the party will be divided even further. Everyone got their own egos, can think somewhat more properly for themselves, and we're young adults, all of us are broke, they're gonna take certain sides.

Back to the people who gets kicked out, they will stumble upon a slave market somehow, buy some sort of strong woman with a sad background, take her heart, destroy every slave trade apart from the one where he first originally met her, it's textbook at this point.

"By the way, what are you guys doing about the heroes?"

"What do you mean?" Edward asked

"I mean, y'all are literally forcing unknown people to take on such a burdensome role of saving everyone or whatever, what if they get pressured into depression or something?"

"No heroes have ever refused, and our spy in the other world carefully selected the heroes, they all have redeeming quality." he argued

"Ya wanna know what's more scary than a demon lord? Expectations. Well there's marriage, reality, dying alone...but we're not going there."

There's social interactions, every time you readers look into the mirror, but we'll leave all those for another time.

He then just gave me the same repetitive answers, it was boring so I stopped, we got to the kingdom or whatever, it seems that this world has balloons which is weird, The kingdom were hosting a festival of sorts, and as we arrived at our place of stay, we spotted a child standing in front of the carriage's door.

The boy is about 120 cm tall, he's got red hair, and red eyes, plus red clothing, I know who this is, and it's confirmed with the change of expression of Ruka's and Edward's, but I plan to piss every rose guardian possible.

"Oi, who's the lost child?"

"No, don't say that." Edward stopped me

"Yeah, he's sensitive about that." Ruka chimed in

So a small character being insecure that he's small, textbook.

"The fuck did you say to me, you little shit?!" Rowan retorted

"Who's this sassy lost child?"
