Chapter 20: Closet
Perseus POV
"Ok, so my mind has recovered." Reiner said as he sat down
"I don't see why it's shocking, what's shocking is that some people sleep with socks on during the summer or that the purity of heroin sold on the streets are usually around 15%-20%, cuz you want to be on the borderline of both death and enjoyment, and that's usually the sweet spot for-What?"
Why is everyone looking at me weird?
For the record, don't put weird theories on me, all my knowledge came from the author, put it on him, but if you haven't heard from him the next few days, it's cuz the government got to him due to his search history.
"Well, are you here to try and get an early scholarship?" Reiner asked "I can just write you a letter of recommendation, heck I don't you even need one."
"At first, I just wanted to meet you, I have no interest in becoming a student of the so called top schools nor getting adopted by strangers, but have none of y'all realize how creepy this is?"
"What's creepy?"
"Forcing engagement upon underaged kids without their consent? No one here finds that creepy? Seriously? Anyway, that aside, I was just curious at who the red rose was, I'm pretty much satisfied, where's the biggest library you got?"
3rd Person POV
The group talk a bit more before they went on their separate ways, Perseus got to see the red rose and vice versa. The new lord of the blue rose is an 8 year old who's not really giving a care about anything.
When they talked, they tried to edge him on and try to slowly convince him to leave their future to them and side with their side of the war, but it seems he's smart enough to know that he reject it all entirely.
'The only winners are the ones who stay the heck out of it, so no thank you.'
"The demon lord have gotten himself 3 of the roses, one of which is the white rose." Reiner discussed with his brother and Rowan "And those 3 made themselves clear when they declared their allegiance, Tehios got 1, now we found our 3rd, but it's basically still 1 since they've both are neutral, we are going to lose."
"That's why we got the heroes." Rowan chimed in
"Sir Rowan, are you sure you can't convince your siblings?" Edward asked
"Our goal is to be the balancer of the world." Rowan replied "If we exclude Ruka, even if the others are mostly passive, if push come to shove, they will come on our side, so it's 3 on 3, perfect balance, and the demon lords is balanced out by the future heroes, it's better if Perseus just stay loyal and stay out of everything.
"My role is to support Reiner and that's it, if he choose to side with the demon lord, then I will too, though Leilah is still missing, it might be for the best, though since I am on your side, I suggest you take it slow."
"I'll try to keep a friendly relationship with him." Edward said "It's a long shot, but it's the best we've got."
"I'll try to reach out to the schools." Reiner chimed in "They need to entice him, it could be wealth, status...everything has a price."

"Moms, do you think we can rearrange the attic and make it into my new room instead of putting a new bed and sleeping in the same room with Ruka, even if she doesn't mind." Perseus asked
"Why would you want to sleep in the attic? It's small." Nyra asked
"It's bigger than where you both used to live, a closet, pssh." he replied as they were left speechless and slightly impressed with that joke.
They got to the theatre, where both Nyra and Rylee wants Perseus to learn to be more happy and not as he is, Ruka has never heard of it before, and was looking forward to it.
Perseus POV
They are overcharging me at the snack bar, it seems that they recognized that I am not from here, I tried negotiating the price down, but it's starting to seriously piss me off, my moms and Ruka went first into the theater since they went to find our seats, so I was left alone with some money to buy something.
I mean, they're usually overcharged anyway, but you know, more than usual, and it's pissing me off even more when I see the guy hide the price list behind his back.
"Y'all wanna know why you work for tips?! It's cuz no one wants to put the whole thing in!"
Yes, I said that as I left to go inside and watch the sad romantic cartoon thing.

Everyone was crying, even the kids, when the girl died and left the guy alone, I mean, it's a decent story, but yeah...it seems like my parents weren't expecting me to just watch it without experiencing any emotions.
"How can you not cry? That was so emotional." Ruka said between tears
"Yes, I'm very sad when the animators stopped drawing the character."
For the rest of the day, I was just bombarded with the 3 women talking about the cartoon. I am just looking forward for tomorrow evening when the noble adoption ceremony. Why am I looking forward to it?
Apparently they brought along the 10 unobtainable flowers, I know, I've heard 100 fictional stories with girls of that title, I don't wanna get engaged, just wanna know who I can flirt with in the future if they're still single in 10 years when I'm of age.
In the morning, of course, I journeyed to the library, sure enough, I see many potential targets, and people I need to get to know or people who I can get information from. nobles, royals, scholars, I don't care, I just need to know who to avoid and who to approach in the future.
