Chapter 23: Top Recruiters
3rd Person POV
*Just right before the adoption ceremony*
"Well goddess, if you can hear me, I'm accusing you of theft, if you want to prove yourself innocent, please make a proper appointment." Perseus said as he prayed and then left.
The fall goddess heard his prayer alright, it was the weirdest prayer ever that is addressed to her.
Maple Autumn, the goddess of autumn(fall), she is a young adult woman around 173cm tall, has brown hair and bright blue eyes. She can then see...that the boy is accompanied by Ruka, the blue rose.
The seasonal gods and the rose guardians are essentially siblings since they share one common parent, the moon god, though for the rose guardians, they are later adopted by the sun goddesses, so they basically are siblings who share the same parents.
Perseus definitely got her attention, and since he's living in the continent that worships her, she can watch over him easily.
*During the adoption ceremony*
The king of Zoris is sitting perch up at his box seat and is visited by his 2 sons, Edward and Reiner, who then reported to hm about their day and have some small talk with their father.
"It seems that we have adopted 3 of our own and hired a fresh few dozens for our forces." the king said "Amongst the 3 adopted, 2 are from the Paradis Tree, and the other, an orphan who came from one of our southern towns, we got the bests of the bests, yet you 2 are claiming there is another?"
Edward then gave him a small scope and pointed to the direction of Perseus, he had people locate the boy and his family earlier, he's accompanied by 3 beautiful women, one of which is the legendary blue rose who made an appearance for the first time, she is currently unknown, so they can still walk around without being swamped.
"I see, the blue rose is indeed beautiful, more beautiful than I thought." the king commented "If this is me in my heyday, I would have gotten executed since I would attempt sway her, no wonder mother didn't pass me the red rose..."
The ceremony were dominate by children of the Paradis tree, even though there's no tournament or anything, and all the competitions were made to be impossible, those kids are just tenacious.
They were always on the grasp of victory, barely any other children are equal or even able to hold on their own.
The summoned heroes will be arriving in a few years, why this particular year is important is because those children are going to not only carry their names, but those children are to join in the army that will be backing the heroes up.
They are to invest a lot of resources into those kids, the royals of Zoris, as host, even if they don't want to, have to adopt and recruit so the others can follow. But the royals plan to anyway, they got the 3 of the best children who are talented enough to be a minor substitutes if one of the heroes were to die.
Climbing, swimming, 1 on 1 fighting, mana testing...the fighting, each kids have 5 chances to fight and their goals are not to win, but to impress, so even if they could have won using a few dirty techniques in a real fight, they can't like they usually do and fight longer than usual to show off everything they got.
The children of the Paradis Tree were fighting in weird, unorthodox techniques, spins, jumping, acrobatics...they dominated and made everything look easy. And the mana testing were not only to test how much stars they got, which most were in their 2nd including the older ones, their mana quality proved to be much superior.
Unlike the other years, this is more intense than before, they want kids who can really carry their names and have their house known as ones of those who join in the elimination of the demon lord if the heroes can finally do so unlike some of the previous ones who died by the demon lord's hand or just were never strong enough.
Now instead of purely relying only on the heroes, they have an army to back them up, and their houses are to make their children, their newly recruited and the adopted children be the captains and generals.

The days go on, the children of the Paradis Tree were already guaranteed a future outside the tree, so their attention went on the other children, 4 children in particular are in the headlines, they're each from the 4 contain that only consist of human races, the Zoris royals want one of them, but they left it the the people of the other 4 main guests(South, north, east, and Tehios.).
Those 4 children arguably got more attention then the children of the Paradis Tree, they are incredibly great support mage/fighters, and they have the potential to read pope and reach the highest status, saints.
|Author's note: Just some foreshadowing, a pope in this world can be women, it's fiction and fantasy, alright.|
"He's sleeping again." the king of Zoris commented as he again spectated Perseus in secret
"He must be bored." Edward guessed
"We did know that they had a certain age limit to meet her, but we never expected one so young." the king then sighs "Should we have one of the unobtainable flower visit the tree, get his attention, and hopefully have him engaged."
"He despise forced engagement." Edward replied
"And I talked with his mothers, he also prefers older women." Reiner chimed in "And I don't mean those teenage girls who are less than a decade older than him, he's into those who are in their adulthood, his mothers say it's those who are in their 30s or 20s."
"So then just have one who fit the criteria visit there anyway accompanied by our school top recruiters." the king ordered "Make sure that we can put his knowledge to good use, and if we can, use his power as the lord of the blue rose. we need all the help we get, if your friends at Tehios are correct, the demons seems to be preparing for another all out war."
