Chapter 30: Dose Of Reality

3rd Person POV

"I'm curious, does it really hurt that bad?" Maple asked as she watched the fight.

|Yes.|

"Aren't they overexaggerating it a bit? she questioned "Why did all the men make a face once they saw the result?"

|Bruh, overexaggerating?|

She then watched as Perseus' opposing group are now huddling together and decided that they should challenge him as one last try so that their reputation would have something to salvaged, even if it's little and risky.

But she then noticed another thing that's strange and caught her eye indefinitely...Perseus' eyes started glowing and a grin was plastered on his face.

That's not magic nor is it the power of a rose...what is it? And why can't she put her hand on it, she wondered in silence.

Perseus POV

"You've made him temporarily impotent, kid, go easy next time." Beek lectured

"Nah, his mistake for pissing me off. He was a bit entitled and needed a a dose of reality to really learn his place."

"Yeah, and so you went for the most painful part possible, he's healed, but he's still feeling some side effects, well you do you and prepare for your next one."

My parents are nervous now, we overheard that they're discussing about bringing the same guy in after he got proper rest and proper equipments to protect the spot again.

Why are they nervous? The guy is rightfully furious and is now purposefully talking out loud about how he's going take time to make sure by the time I forfeit, i will be humiliated like he has.

Which really doesn't make sense, even if you win the second bout, you still lost the first bout to an 8 year old, that shame will haunt you for he rest of your life. Either way, even the people who join in the bet are not escaping from this shame, the 2nd bout is nothing but trying to salvage what little they have.

Same thing for me if I've lost, I would've shamed every rose lords in existence if I lost that and for making a bet to not fight all out and be restricted heavily.

Even with the power of the rose, I haven't mastered it yet, Ruka said I'll have less than a 5% chance of victory if I don't have anything up my sleeve.

Well I wasn't ranked Apocalypse for nothing, I knew of the record that they tried to hide from me back then, of course, it was because my therapist took pity and shared it with me.

3rd Person View

The junior scientist has now properly join the team and integrated himself well among his colleagues. As since he is the newest member, he still is getting help from his team whenever he made minor mistakes.

"Why is he practicing dancing?" the junior asked "Several of them as well, is it for flexibility?"

"Yep." a person nodded "Simply flexibility, improved coordination, strength, footwork and a lot more. We allow these things so they will try to think of escape less, but he studied them just for the sole purpose of escape...we can't stop him once he's in there now, because he does relax a bit when he dance."

"I can see that from the brainwaves..." the junior scientist replied "And he practice voice acting as well?"

"Talented in both as well." another one replied

"Lemme guess, the voice acting is so that he can somehow bypass voice activated devices?"

"Exactly, usually we would have known, but it seems that we overestimated ourselves and never thought of the smaller things, though his ability to change his voice or the range of it doesn't really impact his ability in anyway.

Perseus POV

My moms kept telling me to give up now but I refused, so they just said to stop and surrender once I see that I can't win, or else they will jump in. They know I'd rather die than endanger my parents.

See what I mean, give me the cliché bad parents so people can sympathize for me, damn it. Give me a tsundere childhood friend who I will reject later in life...ok wait, that's my fault cuz I haven't befriend anyone due to the fact that I can't see myself befriending people my physical age.

"It might be cuz of what you did earlier, cuz I can see your eyes glowing." Bobby then gave off an arrogant grin "Go on, use your power of the rose, you're still too young to beat me."

He's about in his late 40s, the fact that he has no shame fighting me is astounding...but I don't think I'll need the power of the blue rose yet, just need it to finish the fight.

Bobby POV

As the whistle was heard, and I charged in with my sword, the arrogant twerp stared at me into my soul with a grin. And my surroundings then changed in a swift moment.

I now standing a windy grass field, I stopped in my tracks immediately. I can sense it, it's not magic, and I wasn't teleported away either...what happened? Why am I here?

"Well maybe I should've chosen a much more violent scene...hahaha" the familiar young voice echoed around me.

I can't pinpoint where it's from, it's coming from every direction. As I was looking around, I can feel a sharp instant pain in my chest. I looked down and see that a sword has pierced me from the back with the little shit being the culprit.

"Well, we can work our way up." he said before disappearing and appearing a good distance in front of me "How do you feel? It's my first time using it again, i want to see if it's still good."

"Where the hell am I?!"

"Now now, let's not rush, to escape here, all you need is a dose of reality. Oh man, I been using that term a lot lately, though you might need a literal one this time." he then chuckled at his own joke "Well what pain would you like to suffer? Death of a family member? Splashed with acid? Swimming in lava? I can do it all, my goal here is to simply break you."
