Chapter 47: They're Rich

Perseus POV

Fucking hell...I'm jealous of her home, bruh this marquis got several hectares of land for both his large mansion and several guest homes for visitors who stay over.

Homes in colder places cost much more expensive than one in warmer climates, but this is just ridiculous, that bitch got all this and couldn't give out money that would be than 1% of her wealth. It was harder to investigate on a different continent since the cost is a bit much and I got info here...due to the fact that she was granted the title of an unobtainable flower, men would grant her free gifts and treasure for her affection, raising their wealth even more.

Must feel kinda shit once you hear that she married a member of the royal family, they never stood a chance.

Anyway, I just turned my group invisible and easily bypassed security, as torturous as the project was, they managed to train me to be able to use my abilities well, not necessarily a good thing for em since I attempted to escape a lot.

My abilities are are just mentally draining and really makes me hungry the more I go on, so that explains my gluttony, so once we're out of range of these projection crystals.

Projection crystals is this world's equivalent of a video camera to record scenes and would project a 3D colored hologram of what it recorded.

But now, we just need directions to where the treasury is. I don't think the guards outside would know where it is. So we sneaked inside the biggest one and went to find any members of the march. I then used my ability while invisible to get directions.

"Hey you, tell me the direction of the treasury."

"Get out of the main entrance, go straight, it's the 2nd building on the right, it's not an actual guest house." the person said "I've never been in there, so I won't know anymore."

"Alright, forget this interaction."

"I feel useless." Leilah pouted

"Not your fault that most of your abilities are either for assassinating someone or basically use in a fight, and some of which like hiding in shadows is just slightly inferior to invisibility."

"Don't worry, when I run of of brain juice, we'll use yours, let's go, I still have about an hour left."

We got to the house and even with invisibility, we don't want the crystals to record the door opening since they put sensors on it, so we snuck through the window since they don't put sensors every time it opens and some of it are left open. The other hard thing is that Leilah preferring to wear dresses making her slower than expected.

And she's also not used to the gravity of the planet, so that's a thing that will slow our progress for a while.

Inside, I asked a guard on how the security work before going down further.

We got inside and head to their basement which is guarded by row of guards, so we won't be able to tell someone to open the door and activate the sensors without being stopped by their fellow guards.

Ruka and Leilah can use magic to deactivate the sensors, it will take about 2 minutes till someone come to fix it, and they already sensed 0 inside the treasury, so we just need to get past these guards during those 2 minutes, we can also deactivate the door sensors, but someone will have to go inside and do about a 20 minute patrol the moment the know the sensor is deactivated.

I just walk by the guards and placed my hand on the gate of the treasury, it should look close to the others even when I open it, but the sensors will activate, this would mean a more thorough 1 hour check, faulty sensors is a more dangerous threat than a short deactivation for them since apparently a deactivated one is easier to fix and more likely to happen.

I don't know how the tech in this world works, but hey.

Well it just means that we'll use Leilah's ability...man, I was just quietly hoping I can summon the undead like 80% of protagonists in my own genre, but that's not going to happen, her ability can just be as deadly though.

Once we got inside, the thorough checkup happened within seconds, Leilah used her abilities to make us sink into the shadows and hide in the shadow of this mountain of gold bars.

"It feels weird, it's like floating in a dream." Ruka described the experience

We're basically sitting is a room of nothingness, we can either float around or sit, there's a floor in here somehow. It was a bit over an hour before we hear their gate shut, I put on invisibility again and we got out, we did a quick run and the rose guardians sensed no one.

As long as we don't use magic and activate the magic sensor, we're basically having a free 2 hours to loot whatever we want. This marquis belong to one of the oldest family, so they got a lot of precious thing that I can sell on the black market.

Don't worry guys, I'll only take 50% of their possessions because only Sheela pissed me off, sell it on the black market for profit. We explored a bit and took an hour to determine which ones are the more important ones and which we can sell and keep, we then shared it between our storage spell and left the rest.

Now people will question our motives, why not take all of it? And how did we get in undetected? Time to make our escape.

I ate a couple food bars, clean up the crumbs and activated the invisibility. Leilah destroyed wall on the other side while Ruka destroyed the door of the treasury from the inside and definitely killed some of the guards on the other side from the blast, we then make a run to the one where Leilah destroyed and left through there to make our escape.

When we get back to our inn, no one will be able to make the connection that it's us, and we'll be leaving in several days, we won't be the culprit, they'll be chasing nothing but air. My grudge can last years, and they can just think that me stealing more than what I was owed as interest.
