Chapter 161: Gambler (2)
Perseus POV
I went over my plans several times over and there's one flaw, it's that the yellow rose will sense that I'm a lord no matter what, there's a way I can hide it, but I'm reserving a lot of my energy in case I get caught up in a fight, but luckily enough, I am actually formally invited to the event to go with Edward and several other representative of the western continent.
The chief and and grandpa Laker is invited too, but the chief doesn't like to come to these kind of events and have a history of ghosting every invites despite receiving them, grandpa Laker is refusing the invite since he no longer have a formal job in Zoris and he's busy teaching at the village.
Despite Ruka being formally invited also, Leilah was not, which is a strange thing, but Ruka is refusing to go as she is going along with Lilith and Leilah to the kraken enclosure to free them, all I gotta do is make sure to distract the yellow rose guardian and lord long enough. I will then definitely be banned from a major portion of the eastern continent afterwards.
Lilith can just teleport them all instantly away, but that will alert the yellow rose and they will come to confront me whether I'm at the village or not where I'll have to fight, but it will 4-5 hours if we want to do it without the yellow detecting it as long as they have a distraction.
They are both known to be very punctual to a fault, and so I know that if I go 6 hours early, they'll be there, early goers are mostly the participants of their on site casino or whatever. I can use that to distract them, I need to challenge them along with other gamblers on site, I just need to do it long enough till I can slip away when the ball starts and Leilah's team can do everything.
They'll put the guards there and all of them have to be put down, sleep, trances or death, but it's going to take a long time to do everything which is why it'll take 4-5 hours.
Luckily I'll be able to bring Buddy along as some nobles usually bring a pet along in order to show off their wealth or status, usually it's magic horses but there are going to be exotic pets as well like magic wolves, lions, tigers...etc. I got on site help at the very least.
This world has a lot of weird rules that only helps me do things easier.
"Maple, you sure you don't want to help?"
"No, I'm going to visit the cathedral just to compare it to mine and see what I can improve on." Maple replied "I also heard that there are a lot of good restaurants nearby, so I'm planning on experiencing the local cuisine there."
"Can't you just ask Mark to order someone to come here, buy some and gift them to you?"
"I want the atmosphere as well, I can't get that if I do it like what you just said, good luck though."
"By the way, I forgot to gift you anything for your birthday, want anything, i can use my future winnings to purchase anything."
"I want...you." Maple replied
"Did Leilah tell you of the method of a passive person like you going aggressive all of a sudden in order to get me flustered as revenge? because it doesn't work on me as I'm just a shameless degenerate who trained myself to not react shyly like the harem protagonists."
Leilah is now giggling as Maple was the one blushing since I hit the nail on the head.

"You are less intimidating than expected." the guy in front of me said
Well, good thing that I already found the 2 guys that I'm looking for even though I came early in the afternoon. The lord is a guy about 180cm tall who looks to be in his early 30s, he got brown hair and blue eyes while the rose guardian is a guy who looks to be in his late 20s, about 190cm tall, got blond hair, vibrant green eyes and looks a lot like the narcissist.
Drake, the guardian was the one that made that comment while the lord, Pike, is eyeing me suspiciously from the back.
"Why are you here alone?" Drake asked
"I like being early."
"You hate formal events, the invitation was only a formal gesture, no one expect you to actually come, early too, no less." Pike countered "You being on the suspect list of the recent events, albeit that you're removed now, is known public, so why did you not come together with the other public figures where it'll be safer for you?"
"I dislike social interactions."
"Then why are you here?" Drake asked
"I like money." I pointed at a super large tent "Y'all heard that rumor if you researched enough about me."

3rd Person POV
"Do you seriously think that he's here to only gamble?" Drake whispered as he sees Perseus headed inside the gambling tent.
"No." Pike shook his head "He has something planned, he always does, he isn't the most book smart nor street smart compared to actual academics or scholars, but he is the most cunning, he gave us a warning before, and I doubt he forgot about it."
"We don't have to worry too much but we should keep an eye out." Drake said "I'll call the guards at the enclosure to be alert since my 2 sisters can be there doing his deed while he's here to use it as an alibi ."
They then had a small but fierce discussion before they later agreed to go into the tent to and keep a close eye on Perseus since they don't know what's going on in his head.
