Chapter 186: A Familiar Phrase (3)

|Author's note: Just know that his name isn't Robert. It's only a nickname Perseus gave him. Just so y'all won't get confused.|

Robert POV

"Sir, you you need a 10 minute break?" the referee asked "I can grant you that, but if you aren't feeling well, I suggest you forfeit, it'll be a cowardly move, but your reputation will be worse if a 9-star holy knight like you got beaten one-sidedly."

"No, I'm good to go."

I steeled myself for the last fight, f it resets, so be it. So far, it's only me who has ever killed anyone, even in the very few cases of the boy winning, Perseus never actually came close to a killing blow. What if killing myself is the key to all this? I can't get close to him killing me since it would reset right before I can, so what if I do it myself.

But by the time my blade reach my neck, the scene reset itself again as I screamed in frustration, I want this to end, this is taking a lot out of me and if this keeps going, I will pass out from mental exhaustion.

And out of thin air, the crowd went silent, I looked up to see everyone standing still like as if time freezes over. Did my god abandon me in this world? Has he given up on me?

"Man, you're no fun." Perseus said with an exasperated sigh "Aren't ya a holy knight? Your mental state and especially your dedication should be stronger, come on now, you disappoint me and your god."

"You..."

It must be, there's only one explanation...he either has received the blessing of the demon god or he's the demon god in disguise. That's the only explanation, this was made to discourage me from ever trying to win in the events I escape this world.

"Don't worry, if you think I can do some sort of unbreakable spell, it's not." he chuckled "And I got no god helping me win this either."

"I know what you are, you the stupid god of those vile beings in disguise, hah, to think you would go out of your way to win against a mortal of my level with all this effort. To think that your own people are so ashamed of you that they hid your gender as a goddess while you go around as a child."

"What the hell are you talking about?" he asked in a questioning tone while giving me an arrogant expression "Me, little old me, a god? That's funny, I would pay a lot of money to read what you're thinking right now. Well enjoy the show."

Perseus POV

I can't hold it for any longer as it's also taking a lot out of me to hold a guy of his level, his dedication and will is super strong, so it's stressful and exhausting on my end, but at least he will suffer more brain damage than me. Currently, I brought him back to the real world and I dash towards him releasing the same sequence of attacks as the first time he experienced it and it earned a burst of roar from the crowd.

I had him experience hundreds of fight scenarios when I told him I was the one behind the whole thing, the fucker is convinced that I'm the god of demons though, which I'll just take as a compliment.

I went all out on the offensive end, I summoned storms and storms of blue rose petals and blast them at him with my full strength, physically he's strong enough to defend himself, but he was too exhausted mentally to think properly of what I'm going to do next.

He's smart enough to shoot up several bright balls of light to the sky and let it float up there, it's located from different angles and it's bright enough that the moment a single tiny speck of shadows is formed, it'll get covered by the light instantly.

He only limits a portion of what I can do though. I surround him the blue rose petals like a swarm of bees and attack him from every angle, but he then created a barrier of light to protect himself and I approach closer and use the tip of my sword to absorb all the light.

The equipment I have on me is made from the asteroid that is actually blessed by the sun goddess after she summoned it to send a message to a person of the time who angered her, it can conduct light and heat at a really high level while also being able to emit them at around a similar level.

And once the barrier is removed, the storm of the blue rose crashed on him all at once and it left dents all over his armor, he flew up to the air and used all his mana to expand the balls of light in hopes of causing an explosion strong enough to kill me.

It's a reckless move that might just cause us to end in a tie and it'll be humiliating for him on his end, but I can tell he isn't thinking a lot, all he can think about right now is to eliminate me.

Unfortunately for him, he can't do it fast enough, earlier, I got come rose petals to force their way into his armor, like through small openings and his sleeves and just right about he's about to cause the largest and brightest explosion, I made the petals self-destruct into minuscule explosions that hurt him from inside his armor.

And the unstable orbs of light still exploded but it did more damage to him than it did to me, I sort of lover my self and cover my unprotected head by turning the other way and my armor absorbed all the damage.

Emerging from the smoke of the explosion was the highly injured holy knight who I nicknamed Robert. he healed himself and charged at me, but I parried all of his attacks. He is just swinging recklessly, and at any moment he seems to be recover, I used my powers to give him the 'vision' again.
