Chapter 239: The Strongest Rose (2)
Lilith POV
I don't know what Perseus is planning, but he got this stupid crazy smile on his face, which means that he got something crazy planned. I don't think I remember the last time someone contacted the referee association to set up a proper stage for their fight, usually, it results in the match getting delayed by half a day.
So there are some exhibition fights and some performances carried out by some hired circus group to entertain the mass in the meanwhile. He then requested me to mark the fox and teleport it to the desert in the southern continent and back when he requests it.
He just got home and sleep on my shoulder as soon as we got on the couch, he even has this unusual mumbling where he's happy for once, he does talk in his sleep, and sometimes he mumbles out very funny things, while some other time, he freaks out and twists and turn while crying out about something.
The latter is rare, but even when it does happen, sometimes he goes dead silent and just tensed up as if he's bracing for something.
His mother, Rylee then arrived in the living room, the others are probably still out shopping and exploring the nearby shops, Leilah is on the search for the chief and help him with what he's doing once she finds him.
"Well, that's a strange sight." she commented and sat down "He used to take quite a while before he can sleep comfortably with anyone, and that also goes for us, he was very adamant about not wanting to sleep with me and my wife."
That's because he's reincarnated, sleeping with 2 women who were basically strangers to him at the time...it's understandable.
"At least you're no longer freaking out about the fact that I'm a goddess."
"Any parent would find it hard to accept once they learn that their son is dating someone who's old enough to be his own parent's grandparent, much less that person also being a divine being." she countered
"It IS weird." I replied in agreement
"So, how is it going between you 3? How are you sharing my son?"
"Oh it's quite fun, despite his complaints, he's not normal either, to keep us with us both-"
"I did not mean it like that." she stopped me "I think I can know where you're heading, your nature leaves you quite open and predictable."
"But even our physical intimate moments are an aspect of our relationship, no?"
"Yes, but I do not want to know what my son does in his free time." she responded firmly "Are you not jealous of each other?"
"Oh, we are." I replied quickly "But competition is fun, especially if it's against your older sister."
"So you're using my son as competition to one-up the other?"
"Yes, with good intentions, of course, even if I win, I still don't mind sharing him. I'm not the most affectionate person in the world, I don't wish for too much attention, so I have my sister occupy his attention while I don't want it."
Rylee POV
I don't know if my son knows this but her eyes are quite scary, I have spent time with both these sisters at the same time, and their competition is more intense than he thinks, luckily he's not around all the time, and definitely lucky that they calm down when he's around, I remember them trying to pick out gifts to impress us just so we favor one more than the other so they when it comes to it, Perseus' family will back them up.
I don't think I've ever feared for my life like that, I think the ground was shaking as well.

*Day of the match*
Phineas POV
I don't know what's happening, today's the day of the match and it's getting delayed as the referee is setting the arena up to do something. Apparently, it is to ensure the safety of the audience, so I came early for nothing.
What's strange is that Perseus is nowhere found near the arena, like me, he usually comes early, he's one of the more punctual people in the world, so how come?

After a couple of hours, when the performances were coming to an end, Perseus is reported to only just left the hotel and buying some snacks from some nearby stalls. He is also taking a leisurely walk towards the arena instead of rushing, his family is found in the stand, but the chief and that black-haired woman are nowhere to be found though.
Lilith, the demon general, is found to be among her comrades too, all of his allies are in their proper position, and in one of the most important moments of his life, he doesn't even care to be punctual.
A staff member came to tell me that they can delay it for about half an hour more and it'll be my victory by default, I had my spies check in again, and he was found to be drinking a mango milkshake.
Just when I can't get any angrier, someone rushed to tell me that our base in the desert is being attacked, the power level is being evaluated as around the 9-star or 10-star level, but we can't say for sure.
"Why is that man taking so long?!" I yelled aloud in my waiting room
I need to rush back to stop the attacker, they can't seem to know who the attacker is as no one is strong enough to tell other others about the sight of the attacker before being mowed down by a large-scale spell being shot out randomly within the base.
Is Perseus behind this? But all of his allies are here...the attack, could it be why that chief and that black-haired woman disappeared? But...no...the chief fighting's style isn't shooting out large-scale spells like this, his type would be to slowly eliminate my comrades one by one.
I either need to finish this match quick or rush back.
