Chapter 267: Ring (4)

Ruka POV

"Hmm, your rings really are different in color." Lilah said

We're currently just watching Perseus fighting that dragon, who is now cursing him out for his earlier proclamation, some words that I will make sure to blur out due to how horrible they are, and while fighting, I'm on standby with the ring on due to the clause of us being strong if we're both in close proximity.

Lilith and Maple couldn't care less about the existence of the ring, but Leilah...well, she's been staring at it.

"Do you want one or something?"

"Of course I do." she replied "I've known him for so long, we've been on so many dates and have done so many things together, but he's never given me a ring or any other accessories."

"Then, do you want to break up with him?"

"What?! No!" she denied "He just doesn't believe in that kind of thing, and I respect it, but if he were to give one out, I'd thought that I'd be the first to receive, not you."

"Well, blame Dad, the ring just flew into our fingers."

"Don't worry, I'll make sure to break his hands permanently, so such things can never be created again."

Perseus POV

"Try and flirt with my other daughters now!" the dragon said while spewing flames and shooting out tentacles made from shadows and whipping them around.

Before I was being toyed with, I didn't even stand a chance, I got severely hurt just by a graze even in my demon form, I tried everything, and even with the help of Buddy, a 10-star caliber living weapon, the dragon took no damage, but now I can cause cuts every here and there.

This armor gave me great resistance, so I know that I at least can end this dragon as long as I can last till the end.

"Hey, I heard that Amethyst has 2 husbands."

"2!? I'll kill you and go after those 2 right after!" he then roared "Without that set, no one can defeat me!"

My blade gleamed with a dark blue hue thanks to the merging of 2 roses. I raised my shield, feeling its weight steady my arm. The dragon lunged forward, its jaws snapping with lethal intent. I met the beast head-on, my shield blocking its razor-sharp teeth.

Sparks flew as metal clashed against metal, the dragon's strength pushing against my shield. Gathering my strength, I then turned to my demon form for maximum strength, I pushed back, my armor is now protecting me from the internal heat emitting from inside its body. The dragon recoiled, its mechanical limbs screeching against the ground.

Seizing the opportunity, Buddy unleashed another powerful spell. Jerah, in his rage, targeted only me.

The air crackled with energy as bolts of icy blue lightning shot, striking the dragon's mechanical body. The dragon shuddered under the onslaught, The strong blunt impact of it stunned it for a bit, Buddy then shroud me in the same magic, which I used to crash against its armor plates, denting and cracking it.

With a quick motion, I nocked several other arrows, I then shot them into its open mouth and some to stick into the open cracks between its metal scales and all of it exploded in a magnificent display of vibrant colors.

The dragon's scales ignited, flames dancing along its body. The automaton writhed in pain, its wings flapping frantically as it tried to shake off the fire.

Seizing the moment, I charged forward, my sword swinging in a quick graceful arc. The blade bit into the dragon's exposed underbelly sparks flying as I carved a deep gash. The dragon let out a metallic screech, its fire-filled breath dissipating into thin air.

Buddy leaped into the air, its paws glowing with an arcane light. It unleashed a torrent of icy shards that pummeled the dragon's weakened body. The shards exploded upon impact, causing the automaton to stagger, smoke billowing from its damaged frame.

With one final strike, I plunged my sword into its chest, right above the orb, the metal screeching in response, I can hear the loud grinding gear underneath its scales. The automaton convulsed. It then used its magic to fix itself all over again.

The fight continued for hours, and after I exhausted most of my stamina and Jerah ran out of insults, the dragon collapsed.

"Before you take out the orb, would you like to know why I made the demon blood weaker with the exception of your people?" Jerah asked

"Is this an excuse for you to save enough mana to fix yourself again?"

"The answer is simple, the demons were evolving too fast and growing too strong, if I had left them to continue growing, they would have taken over the world, ruining our dream for a united world, it would have affected your people as well, but your chief at the time volunteered himself and several of his comrades to be my servant for eternity.

"I have brought him with me to the other side, but he also made another promise to me right about I was about to leave this world, it's that his people would serve as the enforcers of this world, the people who will eliminate the need of heroes by killing the demon lord to restore balance.

"And when that happens, your people are to make sure that no race will take over the other. Though I do not know whether your people upheld the promise, at the very least...try, try not to let the 2 races eliminate the other, unite them, eliminate the need for heroes, eliminate the demon lord."

With the orb in my hand, I walked further and further into the depths of this cave, a door opened up after I eliminated the dragon, and I am to walk to the center of the moon.

The gravity felt as if it decreased, and the temperature felt hotter, but the armor protected me from everything, and once I reached the moon's core, I see this hallowed-out surface that seems to be in the shape of an orb, and I then placed the orb in that hallowed out space.

The moment I insert it, I can see these lines in a grid-like pattern that wasn't there before lit up.
