Chapter 278: It's Time (5)

|Author's note: Sorry, as you've noticed, my updates have been slow and sometimes no longer daily, I've just been really busy, and I've also been brewing another novel that will start once this ends, don't know its title yet, but I got the blueprints, something along the lines of "the author's" origin, but I'll start on it once this novel ends, should be quite a long while.|

Perseus POV

"You okay there, bud?"

"Yeah, I'm no longer seeing anything." Vince replied.

I woke up in the morning early to do my training, once I got back, I can see healer Beek heading to the guest room to sleep while Vince is in the living room preparing a jam sandwich as his breakfast.

"Want some eggs?"

"Can I have just some bacon and hash browns?" he requested

"Sure..."

I then made myself some breakfast and cooked some extra food for Vince as well, took a while since magic doesn't speed up how fast your food can cook. But after that, I joined him and talked t him about his visions a bit.

"Now that I think about it, the boy really resembled you a lot." he said while trying his best to remember, "Except that he had this grumpier look to him as if he's angry at the world."

"It does sound like me, I hate the world."

"You just hate people, but in a more funny way, but he was sad? I don't know..."

"It's alright, no need to describe it, and I doubt your vocabulary bank is big enough, the author doesn't get that many in his head, some he chooses to deposit in our heads, and some don't even come anywhere close. Apparently, he got a list of words he wants to incorporate in the story and has yet to manage to find any way to."

|Don't expose me, follow your script.|

Shut the hell up, I make my own rules, I'm the protagonist.

As we talked, I found that by making him sleep, he only witness more visions, the realm of dreams just made him more vulnerable, so that's out of the window, maybe I can have Leilah invade his mind...nah, that might hurt him, I'll let her do it in case of emergencies, having another presence around should help him get over it.

After breakfast, I let him stay home I then meet up with Leilah to discuss what I can do to minimize Vince's visions, I tried discussing it with Lilith, but she said that she's making time for Orion in the morning, Ruka is also making time for Asher while Leilah is watching over them.

So all that's left is Buddy and Maple, both of whom know of my true identity and most of my secrets.

"Your fox said that death is a permanent solution." Maple translated.

"That's not happening."

"He said that he's joking."

"Don't worry, I get it, I also have my moments with dark humor..."

Currently, we're all sitting on my bed in a circle while attempting to think of ideas, maybe an anti-mind invasion headband? To block these rays of vision from going into his brain and projecting it into his head?

But no one got enough knowledge for that...

"Well, it seems like I'll just have to ease his pain while he's experiencing it." Maple said.

"The process last over 24 hours."

"It can't hurt that bad, right?"

"You're a goddess and I'm a guy who've experienced hours of mental torture, your point?"

"I stand corrected."

"Well at this point, I'll just have you relieve his pain while I charge that thing up, afterward, the children will go home and I can start my thing, I've heard that the Urgess family has officially supported Russo, it's kind of a done deal in Tehios, the heroes have voiced their official support as well.

"And there's also that Cain invasion or whatever, I plan to stop him before I can fight the demon lord, but time is ticking even if we got some to spare, and in our universe, time actually moves, so doing things take a lot of time, unlike a certain series where a character is like the same age for several decades."

"You talk weird, and I can't wait to go with you and learn what the other side offered that made you like this." Maple shook her head in this pitiful manner.

3rd Person POV

"Man, these guns are awesome, I don't have to do a thing." Trevor boasts.

Even when a few of the heroes separated, the main group still progressed smoothly, though it's strange that Terrence and Mark no longer wanted to join their group.

Rolan suggests brainwashing or manipulation, even the uses of forbidden dark arts, but their investigation did not prove fruitful, if anything, the opposite, the 2 seems to have received stronger blessings after they returned, dark arts would've had a hard time working on them.

"Using these...guns are not the honorable way." Rolan said, "What's the point of training if you're going to use a low-effort weapon?"

"I saved your ass is what." Trevor replied, "Anyway, let's just start adventuring in the demon continents now, we're all 6 stars at least, and you got to the 9 stars."

"You know we can't do that." Rolan scratched his head, "Why am I the only responsible one here...? I can get us permission to help in the fight against the anti-magic cult, victory would boost our morale, and we'll finally help the South regain all their territory again."

"That does sound good." Sarah chimed in, "They really are annoying with their stupid prophecy and all, but Phineas is a really powerful being, and there are several 9-stars within their top fighters, we need all the help we can get."

"But if we win, the god of spring promises to turn those strong fighters into loyal obedient soldiers that will fight or us. We just need to present them in one of his temples or shrines."

"Well, get the perms then, you're currently the oldest and strongest here."

Rolan thought,
