Chapter 318: It Will End Today (2)

Perseus POV

It now charged itself with the lightning bolts and clad itself with thick layers of mana as armor before charging at me. My injuries are healing slower than before, but I guess that it's from its ability to slower the regenerative abilities of those with demon blood.

My being as a half-demon came back to bite me in the face, or should I say came back to claw me across the face...I'll stop now.

The homunculus let out a guttural growl, its maw filled with razor-sharp teeth, and lunged at me with startling speed. Instinct took over, and I leaped backward, narrowly avoiding its attack.

The ground shook from the impact of its strike, and I could feel the air whooshing past me.

He's definitely much quicker than before, well, I can use the power of light to travel as fast as light, or so I say, but I can't travel that fast without damaging myself, my body can't handle that kind of force.

Not wasting any time, I followed up with a flurry of punches aimed at its midsection. But to my surprise, the homunculus' skin was tougher as time went on, and my blows didn't have the impact I had hoped for. It roared in anger, retaliating with a backhanded strike that sent me sprawling to the ground.

Buddy sent some flurries of spells, but they barely budged, Buddy resorted to charging his spells while dodging the spells that the homunculus sent in his direction and shot more powerful ones, they did damage him, but this guy's regeneration is even better than before.

Buddy did it several more times and took the monster's attention off of me, the homunculus got its arm or body part blown off many times, and yet it still remains standing, it was a quite scary sight to see it just firm every hit.

|I should have substituted the term 'homunculus' with monster or creature more, it's so much easier to type.|

Gotta end this quickly, it's already been 7 minutes. And I rather not see my fox getting hurt, he's a bit too selfless for his own good when it comes to fighting for me, a kind of loyalty that I appreciate a lot.

How should I finish this thing...? With my fist or my sword?

Sword...it sounds cooler.

Lachlan POV

As I was enjoying my dinner earlier, I couldn't help but be mesmerized by the full moon tonight, a sight to truly behold, I let my family go to rest first as I went to finish my work in the office.

But as I stared back at the moon...the moon's appearance underwent a dramatic transformation, turning it into a mesmerizing spectacle that held both beauty and a hint of impending danger.

Lines of light lit up the moon, as described by what happened a while ago, some interpret it as the sign of the moon God, Jerah, being angry.

At first, the moon seemed to shiver and pulsate with an otherworldly luminance, there was this faint silver glow still remained and emanated from its surface, gradually intensifying into a radiant, silvery brilliance that illuminated the night sky like a celestial beacon like a second silver sun.

"Beautiful...but..."

What's happening? What did the humans do this time?

Perseus POV

I can't believe that I have to say this aloud for this to work, fuck Jerah, but whatever.

"Blade of Divine Radiance."

Ruka POV

"Oh how far we've fallen."

"What makes you say that?" Lilith asked

We're currently watching the whole operation from a nearby hill, Perseus is engaging with that...well...thing. His human form was quite good-looking, but that form really turned me off, and he's a bit too emotionless for my liking, just when I thought I found my guy.

Anywho, we used our enhanced sense of hearing to hear everything that's going on

Leilah's currently in charge of maintaining the barrier and making sure to delay anyone who comes close, I'm more of the backup and watching the whole fight with Lilith who's waiting for Perseus' signal.

"Our lives now revolve around a guy with height insecurities."

"He's taller than us." Lilith replied, "And he's statistically average in height."

"Maybe so, but I remember him complaining a lot about his inability to grow taller and a beard."

"What? Why a beard specifically?"

"Apparently, to look more manly. He thinks that he lacks a mature look. Luckily no one ever uses his inability to grow a beard as a starter for their trash talk, he would really react terribly."

"He sells cosmetic products, can't he use that?"

"He doesn't want to use anything to alter his natural looks...and he tried it before, it has 0% effectiveness on his face."

"Why don't I know that?"

"I guess that he prefers me and Leilah over you."

"You're supposed to be my older sister."

"And you're supposed to be a mature goddess."

"...Blade of Divine Radiance." Perseus said as he used the power of the 2 roses to form a blade in his hand and charge it with a silver light.

What kind of idiot says the name of a move as he's fighting? Heck, why name it at all?! And what sort of name is that? Sounds like something out of a teenager's delusion.

*****

Ok, I will take that back. Perseus' blade created a sliver arc flying at his opponent and cut through the enemy with a devastating force. It sliced through armor and flesh alike as if they were mere illusions, cleaving the opponent in half.

The sound of the impact echoed through the battlefield, and it sent shivers down my spine, everything was cut in half as a silver arc lit up the sky.

The unleashed power rippled through the battlefield like a shockwave, causing the very earth to tremble beneath our feet. The ground cracked and shattered, sending debris flying in all directions. A power that doesn't normally come from a mortal.

Beyond the immediate impact zone, the devastation spread like ripples in an ocean. Buildings crumbled under the force of the shockwave, and the once orderly battlefield now lay in chaos.

It was now eerily silent as Perseus then did a hand pistol signal to let Lilith shoot her arrow at the only thing that remained, the 2 halves of the now once homunculus in front of him...it wasn't even proper halves as most of it got completely erased.
