Chapter 171 "Fighting Each Other"

For a minute, Peter Parker wished he were dead. He thought his life had completely lost its appeal at this point.

"Tony, please delete the video." Peter clung to Tony's arm, wishing he could delete video that was projected from his armor.

"I must save this video and use it as the foundation for determining whether you are 100% Peter Parker or you have been influenced by the Symbiote. Since only the genuine Peter would feel humiliated upon viewing this video. In addition, don't you recall? Your teacher recorded this video."

Peter's request was denied by Tony with a justification.

"Tony is correct, we need a reliable way to determine whether you are 100% Peter Parker." Peter turned to gaze at Rorschach with a resentful expression. Rorschach shrugged.

Peter didn't give up though, saying, "We still need to have other testing methods, like asking some questions that only we know the answers to."

"Like last night in the room, you spent the entire night watching paid adult channel?" Rorschach asked.

Peter was shocked. He was very aware of this. Venom, after all, has no interest in adult human interactions.

"Venom won't interfere your memory when it affects your sanity. But Venom will read your memory, making it hard to determine whether you are 100% Peter by asking about something that only we know." Rorschach kept going.

Peter was enraged by Venom's continued chattering from the side, grabbing the area of his neck where the Venom was sticking out and attempting to rip it off and said, "Get out of here, I never want to see you again."

"No!"

Venom refused to leave Peter's body, "Don't you think we are perfect for each other? You can increase your quickness and strength, and I can increase my strength. We are a strong ally when we work together!"

"I'd rather be useless than being your ally." Venom's skin was being torn off by Peter.

Rorschach and Tony unconsciously reached for their phones once more and began secretly filming priceless footage of Peter subduing Venom.

Venom had no alternative but to use the sympathy trick, "Peter, after leaving the host, Symbiote will become extremely vulnerable and may even perish. Have you got the heart to let me die?"

Venom was being torn apart by Peter's hand as he said, "You can find another as the host!"

"Nobody can compete with us in this way, Peter. If I prey on someone else, I might get their greed and bad traits and turn into a ruthless killer and criminal. We are supposed to be good individuals like you, only in this way can we prevent going the wrong way." He seems to have become irritated with Venom, which communicates differently.

"You have been parasitic on me, didn't you see back then?" Peter ripped even harder.

"What about it?"

"Venom, how about I locate you a new host, one that will satisfy you?" Rorschach said with a small cough.

Peter and Venom were shocked to hear this, and Tony rubbed his chin, asking, "Rorschach, do you want Venom to parasitize Steve?"

Because in Tony's opinion, aside from Peter. Steve Rogers, the current president, is the only person he can think of.

"Of course not, I ought to be able to locate a different capable host. Let's try this. Peter, can you be patient with Venom for a while till you locate a suitable host?" said Rorschach.

"Mr. Rorschach, please find the suitable applicant as quickly as possible. I'm so sick of this slime monster." Peter pleaded.

When Venom learned that, he was quite sad. "Peter, hearing you say that genuinely hurts my heart."

Venom and Peter's argument caused Rorschach to release the mirror dimension.

Everyone entered the Osborn Group laboratory's dimension once more. Outside, Pepper Potts noticed that Rorschach and the others had vanished, only to reappear in the lab, and she quickly inquired as to what had transpired.

Pepper unlocked the door and went into the room as well after knowing that Peter was okay.

She was still shocked by Venom, though. Pepper eventually learned about Venom and the Symbiote after some explanations.

"Let's get started, Ms. Potts. Please assist me in getting in touch with Eddie Brock, a reporter for the Daily Bugle, and request that he see me." Rorschach made an order.

Pepper looked at Tony. She gave a subtle nod, indicating that she would follow Rorschach's orders.

Peter's countenance changed once more when Eddie Brock's name was mentioned, "Eddie Brock? Why are you looking for him, Mr. Rorschach? Is this the qualified host you mentioned?"

"You've heard of him?"

"This individual obviously has a rotten heart. He made several attempts to stole my news. The Spider-Man news, specifically. He truly intended to take my spot as the sole reporter covering Spider-Man." Peter was ranting about Eddie Brock.

"He didn't know Peter Parker was Spider-Man, that's why. Have you ever considered working with Eddie?" Tony asked again.

"Working together? He was stealing my job from me. I was successful in landing a position as a part-time reporter at the Daily Bugle by using a photo of Spider-Man." Peter explained.

"You must not be aware of that. A single photo in the Daily Bugle costs twice as much for a part-time reporter as it does for a full-time reporter." Tony gave a direct answer.

This time, Peter was speechless. He quickly figured exactly why Eddie Brock wanted to steal his job.

Not because Spider-Man is more well-known, but rather because the Osborn Group, a significant shareholder in the Daily Bugle, is the reason Peter's photo of Spider-Man allows him to earn twice as much compared to an official reporter.

If you really think about it, every major news outlet and publicly traded firm today is more or less inexorably related to the Osborn Group, unless you go to a little diner to order food.
