Chapter 249 "The Daily Planet"

Hearing that the Joker said that he had a way to get rid of Carmine and Batman, Maroni looked at him suspiciously and asked, "Tell me, what can you do?"

The Joker let out a laugh, and he said, "Carmine's men are strong. You just need a large number of weapons to deal with him. As for Batman, he is just a man who dares not show his true colors. I heard that his suit is bulletproof, but can one missile kill him? If not, then maybe two?"

"You mean, you have a lot of weapons?"

The Joker spread his hands and said, "I don't have a large number of arms, but I have contacted an arms dealer who can provide me with a large number of arms, even bombs, missiles, and other weapons of mass destruction. But only if you can afford the price."

Maroni knew that the price must be a lot. He is a criminal, so he would naturally have a certain understanding of arms and weapons.

He gradually lost his patience, "The price is too high. You might as well rob a bank to afford one."

"How did you know I was going to rob a bank next time? Maroni, I thought we could work together." Joker said in surprise.

Maroni glanced at the lead wire of the grenade in his hand and said, "Are you crazy? In Gotham City, as long as you dare to rob a bank, Batman will appear within three minutes."

"I didn't say I was robbing a bank in Gotham City. Metropolis is very close to Gotham City, and there are no vigilantes in Metropolis. I just so have a friend who works at Metropolis Bank. Before he died, he gave me a piece of information about the amount of money in there and a road map for the patrols of the guards."

He endlessly about his plan to rob the Metropolitan Bank, and Maroni went from initial disdain to shock.

"So, you want me to cooperate with you?" Maroni seemed to understand his intention.

He happily jumped up from his seat and clapped his hands. The bundle of grenades on his body was shaking up and down. Everyone was afraid because he could accidentally detonate the grenades and blow them all to death here.

Fortunately, the grenade did not explode.

"I admire you very much. I really want to cooperate with you. I can serve as your consultant in robbing banks, assist you in robbing banks, and then we will share the money we robbed. How about it?"

Joker gestured with his hands and said, "Even if you split half of me, it's enough to buy a lot of equipment. We can kill Carmine and Batman, and then Gotham will be in your pocket."

He thought for a while, then stretched out his hand, "Alright, deal."

"Okay, I'll give you a communicator. When you're fully prepared, you can use this to contact me." Joker left a communicator behind and walked out of the room swaggeringly.

A group of men looked at each other, and the other waited for Joker to walk away. One of them approached Maroni and asked, "Boss, do you really want to cooperate with him and share half of his money?"

Maroni sneered, "How is it possible? I won't give him a penny. After we rob the bank, we will kill this clown."

As he said that, he thought about it for a while and then said, "But I don't think this clown seems to be a good person. Maybe he is also plotting something against us. Go Investigate this clown and be fully prepared."

"Yes, boss!"

----

A few days later, in Metropolis.

Lois has been investigating the man since she met the man on the glacier on Ellesmere Island, Canada, two weeks ago.

But nothing was found.

Recalling that on the spacecraft, Lois was pierced through the abdomen by a metal tentacle. The man used some hot light in the eyes and seared the wound on her stomach.

At that time, Lois fainted from the pain. When she woke up, she found that she had returned to the military camp.

Later, she learned from the military that something rushed out of the glacier in the middle of the night and disappeared from the radar. Even satellites could not capture the location of that thing inside the glacier.

When Lois woke up, she checked the photos on her digital camera.

The most annoying thing is that she found that all the photos in her camera had been erased. Whether it was the photo of the man or the photos of the alien spacecraft inside the glacier, all of them were deleted.

If it weren't for the scorched wound on Louise's stomach, she feel that she had a bizarre dream that night.

"I must find this guy."

Lois couldn't tell whether she was motivated by the pursuit of the truth, or something else. However, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet did not allow Lois to continue to pursue on the alien topic.

"Lois, please give up your fantasy. There are no aliens in this world. Instead of chasing down the man on the glacier here, you might as well go to Gotham City to interview the Dark Knight." Perry White, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, said to Lois.

After listening to his words, Lois said with surprise in her eyes, "The Dark Knight is willing to accept our interview?"

"I'm just giving you an example so you don't have nothing to do all day long." Perry gave her a blank look.

Lois was a little helpless. Although she really wanted to argue that she had taken photos of the spacecraft and the man he met. Lois could only let it aside because there was not enough evidence to prove that she was correct.

Perry lectured her for about ten minutes, and finally, he took out a letter, "This is the invitation letter for the football game at the Metropolis High School. You can follow up and report it in the afternoon. It's for the second section of the Planet Daily and will be published tomorrow."

"I don't want to report any football. You should let Jimmy Olsen go. He really likes football." Lois tried to shirk the task assigned by Perry.

"Jimmy has other tasks, Lois. If you don't go, you won't get a bonus this month." Perry threatened her.
