He Despised Liars

What was she going to do?

Zoe sat at the edge of the bed, tapping her feet repeatedly against the floor. She couldn't tell that man or Gabriel - she finally knew his name - that she pawned his phone to support her living expenses. He was going to skin her alive.

She needed to buy time and convince him to be patient enough until a week later. But how? The fact she was unable to produce his phone if he asked for it - and he was going to ask for it - was suspicious enough. She has met her waterloo.

Zoe sat up straight when both men came into the room and their eyes rested on her, making her tense.

"What's his name?" Zoe referred to the other man beside him. And did she forget to add this was a ploy to distract him from the issue at hand?

"Jackson. And don't change the topic again," Gabriel said, "You know why I am, Zoe Clark."
