To be honest, I never gave any thought to the possibility that this may be used as a means of providing care for someone. Perhaps that's not the case in other contexts, but it sure does when it comes to David.

After we finish eating breakfast, he gives me another cup of coffee and tells me to get ready while he adds a splash of cream and a heaping spoonful of sugar. Making myself presentable allows me to mentally prepare for the day ahead. No use in crying for a guy who isn't even dead yet. It would mean giving up some of the joy that is yet ahead of me. As for the remainder of the day, you may count on my undivided attention.
