Chapter 6: A new (old) friend.

— Could you explain to me how storage works? Sophie asked.

---------------------------------------------------------------

THE STORAGE IS A SPACE OF 99 CUBIC METERS WHERE TIME DOES NOT PASS, SO YOU CAN STORE FOOD WITHOUT WORRIES.

THE BOXES ARE THE CATEGORIES IN WHICH STORED THINGS CAN BE DIVIDED TO FACILITATE THE MANUAL SEARCH, SUCH AS CLOTHING, FOOD, WEAPONS, EQUIPMENT, ETC…

BUT, IT IS MORE EFFICIENT IF YOU ONLY ASK THE SYSTEM FOR WHAT YOU NEED.

---------------------------------------------------------------

I nodded to show that I understood.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I ALSO INFORM YOU THAT IT IS ENOUGH TO THINK ABOUT THE ORDERS TO EXECUTE THEM.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I won't look schizophrenic in front of others, that's good, so they won't see me coming.

--------------------------------------------------------------

DID YOU JUST ADMIT THAT YOU ARE CRAZY?

--------------------------------------------------------------

But crazy fun.

--------------------------------------------------------------

ACCORDING TO WHOM?

--------------------------------------------------------------

According to your boss.

--------------------------------------------------------------

…..... RIGHT.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Satisfied with the conclusion, I went to where I had left a basket of cookies for Agatha yesterday, lifted the cloth that covered them and found 100% calorie free rye cookies.

I threw them out the window.

Perhaps some birds were about to starve and would risk eating them.

Not that they were bad, but that would hardly pass for food, at least not for human food.

I went down to the kitchen and put on the advance ready to work.

Her father looked at her from across the table as if she had grown a second head.

She supposed she couldn't understand what she was doing in a dress so "undeserving" of her "status" as the original Sophie would have called it.

He seemed to relax when he saw her take out the oatmeal, guessing she was expecting another breakfast hardly worth the name.

The poor guy took a sip of coffee, when he saw how he reached for the container with the chocolate chips and added a generous amount to the mixture that he was preparing, he almost choked.

He didn't fully recover until I had the cookies in the oven and started on the fruit pancakes.

I was watching the whole preparation process.

— at least watch the oven, since it insists on watching me work with owl eyes—I comment rolling my eyes without leaving the pan, since I had a second one with eggs and bacon.

Stefan shook off his surprise and, not knowing where to look after being scolded by his own daughter for the second time, he kept an eye on the oven as he requested.

She still looked at her daughter sometimes, wondering if she should call the doctor, the psychiatrist or the exorcist, but she soon forgot all about it when the smell of a real breakfast that she hadn't smelled in her house for 3 years began to reach her.

With a new and improved snack, Sophie struggled up Grave's Hill, it was 2 kilometers and that hill to get to Agatha's house, feeling the burning in her thighs and the pain in her side.

She had to raise her stamina, yes or yes, or was it strength? She didn't think it was dexterity.

"Alex?"-She called in her mind.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RESISTS FOR SIDE PAIN AND TO REGULATE YOUR BREATHING.

STRENGTH FOR LEG PAIN.

CHARISMA FOR YOU TO BE A CURVILINEAR BEAUTY OR MORE RESISTANCE FOR A BODYBUILDER. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-…

As he ranted about his states, he reached the cemetery gate, crossed it and arrived in front of the dilapidated cabin that had all the appearance of being about to collapse at any moment, and knocked on the door, being careful not to be the cause.

- Go away - answered a harsh voice.

- That's no way to talk to your best friend - Sophie objected humbly.

- You're not my best friend.

- So who is your best friend?

- She is none of your business.

Sophie took a deep breath.

- We had a great time yesterday, Agatha; I thought you might want to repeat it.

- You dyed my hair orange.

- But we fixed it, right?

- You're always testing your creams and potions on me, just to see how they work.

-It was just a beauty session gone wrong - Sophie replied - It's not that big a deal, is it?

- I'll never be as pretty as you.

- Agi, you are beautiful, you just have to accept it so that everyone can see it too.

After saying that, only silence was heard inside the cabin.

Sophie looked through a hole in the door, as she feared she would, the poor girl was in shock.

- Cookie outfit! ~-I said with a singsong and mellow voice to fix her friend's brain a little.

Function.

Agatha thawed at the mention of free candy, but almost immediately narrowed her eyes suspiciously.

- Are they real cookies or did you make them?

Sophie perceived the movement out of the corner of her eye and out of nowhere she came face to face with the character responsible for moving the plot of this world, for preventing the protagonists from dying mid-story, the true hero of that book and the best ruler of forest.

The cat Reaper.

- Soft and buttery, just the way you like them!

The cat snorted as she crept closer, ready to see blood.

-Agi! ~ - I sing in panic - they have chocolate chips!

Another snort, it is clear that the cat does not believe that the blonde mini model is carrying a basket of empty carbohydrates, and to top it off I add more fat.

- You'll say I have a bad smell.

- You don't have a bad smell.

- Then why did you say it last time?

- Because last time you had a bad smell! Agatha, your cat wants blood and I don't want to give mine...

- Perhaps you will perceive your ulterior motives.

-or the bacon that now I regret having included her - she said more to herself.

The cat showed its paws.

- Agatha, open the door!

The animal lunged at her face.

Sophie screamed.

A hand came between them and knocked the cat down.

Sophie looked up.

- Death ran out of birds - Agatha explained.

Her ugly shock of black hair seemed to be drenched in oil. The hulking black dress, shapeless, like a sack of potatoes, failed to hide the strangely pale skin and prominent bones. Googly eyes protruded from her sunken face.

- I thought we were going for a walk - Sophie said.

Agatha leaned against the door.

- I'm still trying to understand why you're my friend.

- Because you're sweet and funny - Sophie suggested.

- My mother says I'm resentful and moody - objected Agatha - So one of the two is lying.

She reached out to take Sophie's basket and pull the napkin out of it.

Agatha's eyes nearly popped out of her head, and Sophie could see her mouth forming a perfect "O".

She reached out to close the poor girl's jaw, after seeing that she lost the ability to do it herself.

Agatha came to her senses and looked at her like her father when he saw her making those same cookies this morning.

-no lie-she continued the previous conversation - you are also resentful and moody - she shrugged - but the defects do not overshadow the virtues, they only highlight them.

She concluded with her hands behind her back and a poetic tone.

Agatha rolled her eyes, but Sophie managed to see a smile.

- So we can't go for a walk?

Sofia asked.

Agatha saw the rueful face of her friend.

As if Sophie wanted this walk as much as she did.

- A short walk - Agatha walked ahead of her - But if you say something petulant, stuffy or frivolous, I'll have Death follow you home.

Sophie ran after her friend.

- Then I won't be able to talk about anything!
