Chapter Twenty:

Damian stood in front of the altar with his head bowed. He didn't know he would be this nervous on his wedding day. He didn't even plan to get married. His plan was to stay single forever until Maya came in way.

"Here comes the bride, here comes the the bride,"the pianist played the tune softly making Damian lift his head.

He almost choked on his breath when she saw the woman grandpa was bringing to him. Is that Maya? Why did she look like she just descended from Heaven? Audrey did a perfect job with her dress and Maya wore the dress perfectly. Every step she took was gracefully and her fair lucious right thigh peek through the lower part of the dress. Her hair has been adorned with beautiful blue orchids.

The gentle sea waves and breeze complimented her gracefully nature.

Since the theme of the wedding was blue, grandpa bought a small beach in Miami to match the theme and all.

"Good luck kiddo,"Grandpa smiles, patting Damian shoulder. Damian and Maya stood face to face with each other and the priest started the ceremony.

" We are gathered her today to witness the wedding ceremony of...."

Damian and Maya stared at each other, each lost in their own thoughts as the priest did said whatever he was supposed to.

"Is there anyone here who doesn't want this two to tie the knot. Speak now or forever hold your peace," the priest said a Maya felt a heavy knot in her stomach. Deep down she prayed nothing would interrupt their wedding. What was happening to her? Was she falling in love?

'No. I can't be in love. He doesn't even love me. Maybe the reason why I don't want this ceremony to end because of the money grandpa spent," Maya tried to convince herself.

"Now repeat after me... I, " the priest said when it was time for Damian to say his vows and Damian repeated after him.

"I, Damian....."

"Take you...."

"Take you, Maya....."

"To be my lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, till death do us apart."

Maya took the same vows as Damian and the priest pronounced them husband and wife.

"You May now kiss the bride," the priest announced and the newly wedded couple exchanged looks.

Maya took a step back as Damian stepped forward.

"I..."

Damian wrapped his arm around her waist before she could speak. Closing the gap between them, he watched Maya gulp and close her eyes slowly. Leaning forward, Damian tilted his head to the side as their lips met.

Maya gasped and he took that chance to slowly tug on her bottom lip, tasting the strawberry lip gloss she had applied. His free hand moved to caress her smooth and soft cheek, earning a low moan-like sound from her.

Maya's legs felt jelly as butterflies filled her stomach. Her hands moved into Damian's hair, tugging the soft hair, he pulled her closer as she returned the kiss. They were both breathing fast as they disappeared into their world, their tongues entwined and fought for dominance.

Maya felt the need in Damian kiss and she instantly realized how badly she wanted more.

Damian felt her deepen the kiss and he happily returned it. The kiss was long and it grew more passionate with every passing minute.

"Ok, I think that's enough," the priest said and all the guests laughed. Maya's face flushed as she struggled to catch her breath. She couldn't find the courage to look at Damian so she had her eyes fixed on the ground. After the priest said a short prayer to end the ceremony, the guests rushed over to congratulate the couple and present their gifts.

"Congratulations bestie," Maddie said pulling Maya into a tight hug.

"Congratulations to you too," Maddie smiled at Damian who nodded in response. Maddie saw Audrey talking to some of her workers and she decided to help them with whatever they were doing.

Soon it was time to take pictures and cut the cake. The first picture was taken as the couple cut their cake. Grandpa joined in the next picture and some important guests joined in the next. After spending an hour taking pictures. Damian and Maya were asked to go back inside to have enough rest because the diner party was two hours away.

Grandpa insisted he would stay behind and take care of the guests but Maya and Damian didn't agree so in conclusion, Audrey and Maddie were left in charge.

*************

Maya sighed tiredly as she fell backwards on the bed. She stared at the ring on her left ring finger and smiled before holding it close to her chest. Her mind slowly drifted back to the kiss she and Damian shared at the alter earlier.

She felt like the kiss held unknown words they both scared to tell each other. The heat and passion in the kiss was something else. Why did she want more? Why didn't she want it to stop?

"Hey there," Damian's voice startled her causing her to sit immediately.

"Oh it's you," she fit her lip and look down at her feet that still had the pair of silver heels she wore earlier. She was too shy and embarrassed to look at Damian after what happened at the alter.

"Yeah, Congratulations wife," Damian said moving to stand in front of her.

"Congratulations to you too," Maya replied shyly and she heard Damian chuckle. He moved to sit down beside her after hanging his suit on the chair in front of the dressing mirror.

"You haven't made eye contact since we kissed," Damian chuckled making Maya's face turn red. "You didn't like it, right? I'm sorry I...."

"No it's not....I liked it," Maya replied looking at him with innocent eyes. She immediately looked down after saying this and Damian shook his head.

"I'm a bit embarrassed and shy," Maya said turning red. Damian laughed slightly before cupping her face. Without a word, he started leaning forward until their lips were an inch apart.

"I've been yearning for this ever since I saw you," Damian said caressing her bottom lips with his thumb. Maya shook slightly as warm tingles traveled throughout her body.

"That night at the bar, when you sat on my laps..." Damian pauses and looked at Maya lips as his tongue moisturized his own bottom lip.

"I just wanted to take you right there and... I don't know.....make you mine," Damian said making Maya look away. All his words were making her blush hard.

"Goodness I was glad when you signed those papers. That meant you were mine and I was going to do anything to keep you next to me at all times. And thanks you grandpa the whole world now knows you're mine," Damian said and Maya slowly locked eyes with him.

"What do you mean?" Maya asked with a slight frown.

"I love you Maya," Damian said and Maya's heart stopped. Did he just confess his love to her? All this was happening to fast and the feeling was overwhelming. Here she was think she was the only one having these weird feelings.

"At first I thought it was just some silly mind games but I realized my heart is actually yearning for you. I love you Maya and I'm willing to go any length to prove it to you. I want to make you happy and spend the rest of my life you."

Maya gulped, after hearing those words from him. She could feel the sincerity behind those words and deep in her heart she knew he was speaking form his heart as well but some part of her was scared. What if things ended the way things ended between Alfred and her?

"I understand if you want us to take things slow. I'm willing to move at your own pace. I just couldn't keep my feelings to myself anymore," Damian smiled and stood up. "I'll leave you to change, you can call me if you need anything," he said and started walking towards the door.
