Chapter Forty Five:

Maya gasped as soon as her body hit the water. Thankfully, she had left her purse in the car else her would have been ruined. As she swam out, she felt a sharp pain on her forehead and her shaky fingers quickly moved to touch it. Her fingers were covered in blood when they returned to her sight. She looked up at Maddie, who stood frozen with her hands over her lips and eyes bulging out of their sockets.

"Lemme get the first aid," Maddie finally spoke up after coming out of her daze. Maya sat at the edge of the pool drenched and waiting for Maddie. Seconds later, she appeared with a red box and blue towel in her hands. She wrapped the towel around Maya and opened the first aid box.

"You're so stubborn, you know," she scolded Maya as she cleaned the wound.

"You know how hot my temper is, yet....*sigh*.....you still go ahead and provoke me," Maya smiled as Maddie kept scolding her. She missed her best friend so much.
