“Isabela?”I say and she slinks out from behind a potted plant. “What are you doing back there?”
“We are now headed to the waterfront, would you like to join us, Princess?” Liam asks and Isabela giggles when he bows to her. I guess the bowing works on most girls. Liam stands up and winks at me.
“Thank you, my knight, I would love to accompany you to the waterfront,” Isabela takes on a proper tone and bows back to Liam. She takes his free arm and all three of us walk arm-in-arm down the path to the beach.
“You’re a knight?” I ask Liam. He smiles but shakes his head, no.
“No, unfortunately, Ojuelo no longer has knights. But one can always dream,” Liam sighs, jokingly and I laugh.
“That would be pretty cool,” I admit and he nods.
“Right? I’d make a great knight,” Liam says and it makes me laugh.
Once our feet hit the sand, Isabela kicks off her shoes and goes running toward the water. I smile, watching her run but Lucas gets a panicked look on his face.
