“You have?” I ask as it is the only thing I can think to say. Lucas smiles lovingly at me and nods.
“I have,” Lucas pulls my chair closer to him and places his hand on my face. “Tell me,” he says. His voice lowers, filling with desire.
“I love you,” I tell him, tilting my head to lean against his hand. His smile grows and he leans in to kiss me deeply.

My Summer Affair

“This is so exciting! I’ve never been to a royal wedding before!” Isabela squeals when Lucas announces the engagement. 


“That’s because the last wedding was mine and your father’s. That was long before you were born, Isabela,” Mrs. de Leon smiles fondly and pulls Isabela closer to her. She still looks concerned but her love for her son is strong and I see her smiling at his happy reaction.


“Not too long before I was born though,” Lucas teases. He has had a huge smile on his face ever since I said yes. 


“Lucas!” Mrs. de Leon scolds Lucas, giving him a disapproving look. King Fernando on the other hand begins laughing. His laughter soon turns into a cough. Mrs. de Leon assists him and when his breathing returns to normal he smiles at Lucas and me.


“I am so happy for the two of you,” King Fernando says and his eyes well up. “I was so worried I wouldn’t see my son find love. But he has and thank god it’s you, Mandy.” King Fernando’s words make me tear up as well.
