Valley Down

It was a gloomy valley, with no trace of blood beneath the end of the valley, which was the site of several accidents. Feng Lin was shocked and believed that such a thing might also be possible, so he made an effort to exercise caution when searching in such a place.

Tracing the site of the crash, he found nothing at all. Tracing the positions where victims' blood or dead bodies could be found, eaten by some predator, was unsuccessful.

Not only that, but there wasn't even a single living thing there.

All that was left was a constant cry for help that seemed to be coming from everywhere in the area.

"Where is it coming from?" "There isn't a single living thing's sound anywhere except for the wind howling in the hills and valleys."

As he strolled through the forest, admiring the scenery, he caught a whiff of the medicinal herbs that scented the air around him, and was dictated at dectorian of the spirit chef.

"Something like this is also used in the area." After following the scent to the end of the valley, Feng Lin discovered a strange, entrance-like hole in the cliff that had gone unnoticed due to the abundance of other, similar entrances and the valley's inherent allure.

"A cultivator, or someone not quite like them but in a similar field, is responsible for it." Feng Lin started to take precautions in that direction when he realized that any cultivator in this world would have to have reached Grandmaster level first.

Consequently, he required care and strategy to determine how he can prevent the other party from becoming aware of their presence here.

Entering the cave.

Feng looked around and discovered several pools with dead bodies dipping inside the mucus-like green solution that was preventing the bodies of the living from rotting due to death.

Feng Lin was so disgusted by the sight of it all that he felt like throwing up.

Still, he found a huge pool with a shadow-like being drowning in it in the middle of the structure that looked like an array.

The pool was full of dead bodies.

Maybe it was because of the thick fluid, but the shadow inside seemed to disappear and then reappear in front of his eyes.

'Help me.' When Feng Lin was thinking of looking at the midpool, he found the sound of the same voice calling to him.

Given that the liquid was actually herbal potent and the person drowning inside it might still be alive, Feng Lin made the decision to jump in.

Then, without even giving it a second's thought, he jumped in and yanked out the frail limb that looked like it would snap in two at the pinch of his finger.

'Sia.' Looking at the sick girl, Feng Lin was stunned as he took her out and felt her faint breathing rhythm. In addition to the fact that the girl was still alive, her mental state was also beginning to rapidly decline. But her mind was still ringing with a single tone, as she muttered, 'Help me.'

"Sia." Feng Lin mumbled something to himself as he comforted the young girl, whose body was trembling from the pain and convulsions.

Her physical condition was at its peak, but there seemed to be an internal breakdown that was hard to detect with either physical or plain vision.

"It may be impossible to be cured in the mortal world, but if I use my spirit's culinary skills, I may be able to help." In the past, eating was used for more than just fueling the body; it was also a means of treating a variety of illnesses with medicinal herbs.

Normally, those chefs tend to raise the taste of their dishes at all costs on the global scene.

But, with the advent of herb cooking, they were all beaten in their field, as they all realized how important the health of the eaters was as well.

Feng Lin, who had mastered the art of Spirit Cooking, was familiar with a variety of dishes that can aid in the recovery of humans from fatigue and recovery-related illnesses.

Feng Lin figured that, since the girl's body was so weak, she must be having a number of problems, each of which is slowly killing her. However, she was still forced to stay alive through the use of human sacrifice and various herbs.

Given that the girl's body was reacting to the cold of the surrounding forest, he gently drew her out in his arm and wrapped her in his jacket.

After being covered with a jacket, the girl shivered and held on to Feng's clothes. She opened her tired eyes and smiled brightly at Feng.

'Thank you.' She opened her mouth and spoke to him. Sia's voice was barely audible to the human ear, but Feng Ling picked up every word. Feng Ling felt a rush of pain when he looked at her silly smile as she thanked her.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine now; we just need to get you healthy again and get out of here before he can find you." Carrying her little body, Feng used the trails and ran away from the place. He eventually located his vehicle and drove it while making contact with Lan.

"Feng." It took less than a minute for Lan to answer the call, during which she greeted Feng by name in a playful tone.

"I'm sorry, Lan, but I hope you can inform others that I won't be able to find them in a week due to certain issues." Looking back to where Sia was seated, Feng got right to the point, seeing that the little girl was sound asleep.

"Feng, are you going to be okay?" Given that this was the first time he had ever been in such a hurry, Lan was a little concerned for his safety. When Feng only said two words, she was disappointed because she wanted to know what he was going through. "Believe me." She hesitated but she still ended up agreeing with him.

In the next morning.

In the morning, when Sia awoke, she found herself in a very lavish-looking but otherwise empty room.

A terrifying feeling of emptiness hit her chest, crushing her, and tears began to flow from her eyes.

The little girl's mind sensed the future to be filled with emptiness and darkness, and she broke out in cold sweat and tears without saying a word.

"Anyone, help me." The girl tried to wriggle her way to the foot of the bed, but she ended up falling down and hitting her head, making a tremendous noise.

"Sia." Feng Lin ran in and saw the little girl crying and shaking. Her tears and fear were showing on her face and body.

He rushed up to her side, putting her on the bed and sitting by her side. He patted the little girl's head and wiped her tears as he consoled her.

"Shh, I'm here; don't cry, little girl; I work for an investigation bureau, and I've been sent here to keep you safe from him."

The little girl's grip on the shirt was so tight, as if she were afraid he would disappear the moment she let go, that he couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

"Look, I brought you some food from the kitchen that I cooked myself; it's delicious, and it contains a lot of herbs that will get you in shape in a week." Feng wanted to get up and take the food from the table beside him, but Sia was tightly clutching him, not wanting to let go of him.

After some convincing, Feng was finally free to go where he wanted, but she still needed him to be with her the rest of the episode.

Even though working this way wasn't hard, it was getting harder for him to keep going when Sia fell asleep again and he had to go to the bathroom.

That's why, as soon as little Sia nodded off, he bolted outside to find some solace.

The next challenge, on the other hand, came quickly and left Feng a little speechless as he waited outside the bathroom where Sia went to relieve herself and asked for him every few seconds.

When Feng returned from the herbalist the following morning, he discovered little Sia awake but this time she was less frightened and more relaxed. Still, the stifle quiver from her body could be seen from time to time.
