Isin - Part Two

You try to escape, snarled the fish demon in a strange language. Isin and Kurkin lay in the corner under the wraps of a fish net. These people eat their own, said Kurkin. Isin was in no shape or form to laugh. The fish demon that caught them was too old to hunt , it looked like. It whimpered in pain and leaned against the rocks. What do we do now? asked Kurkin. Isin was irritated with himself for his stupidity. His own curiosity had trapped him in such a situation. He looked at his condition and he was angry. Then he looked at Kurkin and was sympathetic. The Sympathy turned into full blown anger." Why on earth would you follow me in to this darkness". I guess I was just excited, replied Kurkin. Isin sighed and tried to remove the fish nets. Kurkin too joined him in the endeavor. They tried their hardest to remove the nets, but were soon stopped in their tracks. The fish demon had stopped whimpering in pain and looked at them. "Do not make such noises" it again snarled. They were too shocked to speak. They stared into the darkness in utter shock. Isin, whispered Kurkin. What? asked Kurkin who seemed a bit irritated by Kurkin. Shhh! said the fish demon. Isin, I think they are blind, said Kurkin. What ? he whispered this time the fish demon could not hear it. Look, said Kurkin. The net was not covering their legs. "In their effort to remove the fish nets, they did half succeed". Isin looked at his legs, they were free. He looked at Kurkin and signed with his facial expressions that he might be right. There was a stone next to them, so Isin threw the stone as far as he could with his foot. It hit the walls of the cave and there was a small thumping sound. So the old fish demon went and picked up the stone and gave it back to Isin." You try to run away , I will eat you" it said again in its language. This time both Isin and Krukin understood what it meant. They covered their legs back with the net. Kurkin decided it was best he kept silent for as long as he could. He had no other choice, such was the stare that Isin had given him.

"Isin looked at the dark embers of the caves with no hope at all" We are going to die here, he said to Kurkin. Probably, replied Kurkin. Do you have no fear of death my friend, asked Isin. What is there to fear Isin, about death?. Do you not fear that you will not see your family again, breathe the freshness of air again? asked Isin. I will my miss my mom, said Kurkin. And she will miss me, said Kurkin. He looked at Isin, but what is life if not a passage to another world, said Kurkin. Our friendships, our families these are permeant. These walls, the air , these are all going to fade away one day. Isin was surprised by the wisdom of Kurkin. I have to disagree with you Kurkin. If my life ends here, i would not simply forgive myself. I will be indebted forever to your family and mine, said Isin. If that is your wish, my friend. Kurkin had a large blade with him. He started cutting the fish nets when the fish demon looked away. He was almost done when the fish demon saw their antics. He ran towards them and through his heart went in a blade. " The fish demon lay in pain" Kurkin removed the nets completely. " Let us run away from here" he said to Isin. Isin and Kurkin ran for thier life. What was all that thing about accepting death, asked Isin.

" It was a joke Isin, Isin" Does not a warrior carry a sword on him at all times and sing in merry at the sight of death". I'm no warrior, said Isin. I'm an adventurer. So be it, said Kurkin as they ran away from the caves and into the land of no danger. so de we tell the elders about what we saw? asked Isin. No, that would be foolish, said Kurkin. What happened in there stays with us , he said to him. What if they come in to our village and eat us, asked Isin. " Is it not better to be prepared?" We tell the elders and we ire the irk of our parents, do we not? asked Kurkin. Isin stopped on his tracks. You rather tell me that you would be willing to die along with everyone we know, than get a bit of scolding, asked Isin. Kurkin kept his blade back in his shirt. You are on your own then, he said to him. Isin was even more shocked " I took you for a warrior and a noble person" he remarked. Kurkin laughed at him and strode on. Isin caught up to him. I think it is better to keep it a secret, he said to him. Now you are getting smarter Isin, he said to him. Get a blade for yourself , we may need one for Tomorrow, said Kurkin. What again? back into the caves? asked Isin. Have you ever seen a warrior step back from an enemy? he asked Isin. No, but I have not seen one run away at such a rapid pace from one. Oh! my friend Isin, when the trumpet blows you run away from the danger.

Present day

" Kurkin grew up into a fine warrior, a very mysterious one adept at different strategies. He changed his persona according to the situation. He wore many skins and was a cunning leader. At the present day Kurkin is 25 years old and is building an army worthy of itself." We are worthy of more" he would say to his people. We are more than these islands, we are the Wilkins of Andora. So , there was Wilkin with his army of his people and the fish demons. Prepared to attack the kingdom at any given time. Their ships were getting ready, the soldiers were being boarded. The armory was getting heavier by the day! Isin chart the course for the kingdom! commanded Kurkin. Isin went to his house and began to chart the course. He was adept at evey star constellation in the galaxy by now. Isin could easily know where they were headed just by looking at the stars. But this time there were to be written instructions. Isin was not travelling with Kurkin. He had just had a child who slept peacefully in her mothers arms. I'rin came across the table where Isin was deep at work. He looked at her and then at the baby. He took the kids fingers and moved it across the map. " The first battalion moves in this direction entering through this part of the kingdom. The second moves in this direction and they land a few kilometers apart from the first ship" Isin took his kid and had him sit on his lap. The First ship is a complete distraction. The armies fight a losing cause. Most of them know it, but they have no choice. They rally to their king. The second ship is where Kurkin rides , he rides to the darkes part of the port. Where no one will know of his arrival. I'rin put her hands on the shoulders of Isin. Can you not stop your friend, so many lives are about to be lost, she said. Isin caressed the hand of I'rin. " I do not wish for our lives to end the same way dear" he said to her. She removed her hands from his shoulder. " So my child, he says. As our people lose their lives to a lost cause, Kurkin and the fish demons enter the kingdom and kidnap the king Darticus and bring him back" The child looked at him with his big open eyes. " Then we hold him to ransom". You see child, Kurkin is not interested in ruling any kingdom, he is not noble enough to. All he is interested is in the gold and fortune! But the army and our people believe all he says . Fools!
