The Brok lives

The news of the good health of Brok reaches the Harakans. They celebrate in joy , there was cheers and happiness all around. This made the soldiers to ease their posture and take an easier approach to the situation. Alguran raised his axe and commanded the men to stand guard. " We still have an enemy to defeat" he said. The cheers of the Harakans seem to be short lived. The mood turned somber, as the children and the women went back to their homes. The Harakan men had their spear out. They were lesser in number as a lot of them were injured and some even dead. They stood side by side the soldier and the most skilled of the men stood beside Alguran. Hello, he said to Alguran. The green eyes of Alguran looked at him. He was scared for a second there, the Harakan and took a few steps behind. Alguran thumped his axe on the ground and there was a tremble on the ground.

"The punching continued in the caves of Mordin" and it became terribly tough for the people of Arakanese to withstand the trembles anymore. It is in our best interests to head back to our home, said one of them. Where has Arakanese gone? asked another. It does not matter, he has turned into a madman, replied the man. Yes, yes agreed the others. Arakanese has lost his mind. Let us go back to our homes, they said. So there went one of the people atop the caves and asked Mordin's permission to leave the caves. Mordin did not respond, he continued to puch the caves. Can we leave the cave, asked the people as he raised his voice. This disturbed the flow of Mordin. He turned around and punched the man so hard his neck twisted. He fell into the underground, back to his people a dead man. They again retreated to silence. " The tremors continued".

At the kings court

Arakanese without his right arm and Kurkin wholly intact stood before the king and his counsel. Yondrin was too seated there much to the dismay of Philippe. You are both to hang for treason against the king , said Philippe. They did not speak and their heads hung in shame. Arakanese with his head down spoke up " But King Darticus, I did not come for your head. I merely went for Brok's" he argued. Philippe spoke up "But did you not conspire against the king"? he then further raised his tone " Did you not plan to siege an attack on the king"? he asked him. " Where is the proof of that "? lead counsel he asked back. Philippe did not speak any further. He stood there pondering for a while.

He finally spoke. We shall have a further intensive trial for Arakanese, he said. Kurkin will hang on the day after, the lead counsel adjourned the court. Both Kurkin and Arakanese were taken to the prison block but were locked up in different cells.

"Arakanese sat there in his prison cell , contemplating about the choices of his life" The moon was white again signaling that the Brok was ready to fly again. I should not have rushed for power so soon. Look at these walls that bind me, my missing arm, Arakanese hit the walls in pain from his missing hands. They did not even bandage my arm, it still bleeds. It bled in the courtroom and they did not care. Why would they care ? asked Mirnir. Who is that? asked back a distraught Arakanese. It is Mirnir, replied the voice. Mirnir, the man who stood by the General Marcus in many a fights. Yes, said the voice and appeared in Physical form before Arakanese. There he stood before him in his armor and suit, shining under the light. Arakanese was a little taken aback by the presence of the man. He radiated a sense of bravery and privilege, that comes with decades of fighting and masterminding many a battles. Arakanese, he said. You are a fool and your father was right. " He said to me that you were young and brash" that he was afraid that you would do stupid things after his time. You knew my father ? asked the helpless Arakanese. Yes , I knew your father, he said to him "I knew him well enough to keep an eye out for you". Mirnir looked down on the ground, and I have clearly failed. Let your father down. He had the keys on him and he opened the doors to the cell and let him free. Arakanese was surprised. Why are you doing this? Will you not hang for this offence ? he asked Mirnir. I do not mind losing my head, said Mirnir. " I do not mind losing my head so the kingdom keeps it " he said to him. Arakanese he said. My guards will take you back to safety. Thank you, he said and ran. Next time I will not be there to save you, he said to him. But it was not in earshot of Arakanese!

So there ran Arakanese with the help of the guards under the bright moonlight away from the palace , away from the kingdom. And atop the palace watched the Darticus as he saw the clueless Arakanese run away. Why do you let a criminal run away? asked Hana. I'm not letting him run away dear, he said to his wife ." I want to see where he runs to". A fool such as this cannot operate on his own , he must have someone whispering things to his ear. Someone powerful and wise, said Darticus. Beirod the stealthy Harakan emerged from the shadows which scared Hana. "Find out who his allies are" said Darticus. Beirod simply nodded and vanished back into the shadows" Hana questioned everything she knew about Darticus now. " Who was he really" she looked at him and wondered.
