Missing Again

          Lasso saw the pool of blood and quickly tried to get up but fell again due to dizziness. "Woah- Lasso slow your roll-" Mama grabbed him and just helped him sit up. "She was right there...if she had died and turned into a zom she would've just came for me, Shiny, and Tiger..." he mumbled to himself while attempting to get up again but Mama held him down. "Lasso hold on." Mama demanded and he finally gave up and just laid there in her arms. Ret went over to where Cypher had been lying and noticed that there was a trail of blood that led into the trees. He began walking, the man that had an x scar on his face who was known as X-man followed.

      "Where you goin big guy." He demanded to know but Ret shrugged. "Seeing if I can find a close friend of mine alive." He answered and kept walking. They followed the trail of blood for about 30 minutes when Ret froze. "What." Xman nudged Ret and then he looked up. There was a small wood cabin that was reinforced with old rusted metal plates. The windows were barred and the door was also reinforced with rusty metal plates that were drilled on. Surrounding the house were bird picked human and animal heads on stakes. A clear sign that there is a loner here who doesn't like people. "Well-" Xman started and Ret looked at the ground. "The blood leads to that house-" he mumbled and Xman looks back at the cabin. "They could uh- possibly be cannibals- your friend could very well be dinner-" he told Ret and he just stayed quiet with a puzzled look.

       Inside the cabin there was an old couple. They looked to be about in their 70's but still going strong. "You should've let her die out there!" The man snapped at his wife who was bent over an unconscious woman. "There's already so much death in this world Gerald. If we have a chance to save somebody then I'm going to." She argued back while cleaning the areas around the arrows wounds. She had cut off most of the girl's shirt that covered her stomach so she could clean the wounds easier. She hadn't yet taken the arrows out since they were stopping some of the bleeding. "Gerald put a blade on the fire." The lady told her husband and he sighed and did what he was told. "The one girl has killed thousands and yet you want to save her." He tried to argue but his wife simply nodded.

         Cypher winced a little as the old woman dabbed a cloth with alcohol around the wounds. She thought she heard the woman say something but she couldn't understand what it was. Everything sounded like her head was underwater. When she felt the lady clean the wound a little more she hissed softly in pain this time. "I'm sorry baby...I know it hurts..." the old woman mumbled to Cypher and gently rubbed her shoulder with one hand. "We're gonna take out those arrows very soon ok?..." the old lady reassured her but Cypher couldn't understand a single word she said. She tried to open her eyes but the world was spinning so she simple closed them again. "Where am I?...." Cypher tried to ask but all that came out of her mouth was a groan. Gerald quickly turned his head and grabbed his rifle off the wall. "Is she turning?!" He yelled and his wife glared at him. "No. She isn't idiot. She's just in a lot of pain." She snapped at him and he put his rifle down next to him just in case.

      "Edna do we have to save her" the old man groaned and she glared at him. "If I hear one more complaint out of you I'm going to stab you with that hot knife. Do you hear me." She snapped at him and he nodded. "It's uh- red-" Gerald tried to change the subject and Edna held her hand out. "Bring it to me, you're gonna have to help me sit her up" Edna explained and Gerald grabbed the red hot knife and brought it to her. He handed Edna the knife then very gently helped Cypher sit up. "This is gonna hurt baby I'm sorry...." Edna mumbled while grabbing the shaft of one of the arrows. Without any warning what's so ever Cypher felt one of the arrows get ripped out of her stomach then followed by a icy hot feeling on her stomach as the hot knife was pressed against the wound. She screamed out in pain and tried to get away but Gerald held her still. The smell of burning flesh filled the air as the wound was seared closed.

        The sound of Ret's best friend screaming is what got him moving again. Without a second thought he sprinted towards the shed. "Hey!-" Xman yelled as he ran after him. The ran to the nearest window of the cabin and saw what was happening. Xman gripped the bars but then Ret smacked his hands off. "Hold on." He whispered and ducked down a bit, pulling X with him. They watched through the window as Gerald went to heat the knife up again. Edna was bandaging the first burn and Cypher was laying there crying from the pain. Ret could see Edna's mouth moving as if she was talking but couldn't hear what she was saying. "What are we waiting for." X whispered and Ret looked at him. "Their helping her. We're not just gonna barge in and take her out. What could we do out here in the middle of the damn forest. She could get an infection." He explained and X simply nodded and watched.

        Edna carefully bandaged the burn while Cypher was laying down crying. "I know I know..." Edna mumbled and gently rubbed her head. "We have one more to do then we'll be done...we're almost done ok?..." she gently coaxed and Cypher just mumbled nonsense. She was trying to mumble no more but it just came out as gibberish. Gerald came back with the knife glowing red again and handed it to Edna then sat Cypher back up gently. "Last one ok honey..." she coaxed while gripping the shaft again. She pulled it out and pressed the the hot blade to the wound to sear it closed again. This earned another round of screams from Cypher and Ret had to look away for a moment.  Once they were done Edna tossed the knife off to the side and bandaged the burn.

       "Ok ok we're all done baby...all done" she gently coaxed and moved Cypher to be leaning on her instead of Gerald. Cypher leaned her head on the old lady's chest and cried. Her breathing was ragged and tears were streaming down her cheeks. Edna wrapped her arms around the girl and rubbed her head. She gently hummed and eventually Cypher fell asleep.

         Ret walked to the front of the cabin with Xman and knocked on the door. "Your gonna get us killed-" X whispered and Ret shrugged. "You didn't have to come ya know" Ret replied and waited for someone to open the door.

       Gerald quickly grabbed his rifle. "Who's there?!" He yelled and Ret yelled through the door. "A friend of the girl you got in there!" Gerald frowned. He was very skeptical of this. "How did you find us?!" He asked and Ret chuckled quietly. "The trail of blood!" He answered and Gerald remained quiet. He looked at Edna and she merely shrugged. He sighed and started towards the door, keeping his rifle with him and he began to unlock it.
