Waking Up

Mama woke up hours after arriving. She was laying on her side with what felt like cold metal around her wrists that were behind her back. Everything was spinning so she closed her eyes once again. What got her attention was the soft whimper of what sounded like a child. Her child. Her eyes shot open again and she lifted her head. She looked at the ground and saw a pool of blood was where her head was. She felt drying blood caked on her cheek and she groaned quietly. Her head ached and the world spun but she still looked around. Mama saw Bones curled up in a corner with his hands behind his back and his head between his knees. She heard his soft cries but couldn't see clearly enough to see if he was hurt or not. To her left she heard a soft groan next to her and she tried to sit up but laid back down immediately due to the pain in her head. Mama tried her best to look to her other side and but she couldn't make out who she saw. Everything was blurry but all she could make out was a black man in a white t shirt and black leather pants.

"Mama?..." she recognized it was Shiny's voice. He was starting to sit up and look around. "I'm right here..." she groaned in pain. Any noise hurt her head at the moment. They were in an empty room with some old wires in the ceiling where the old fan used to be. There were two big guards standing by the door, neither were recognizable to her. "Bones you hurt kid?..." Shiny asked and Bones quickly shook his head. He was shaking badly and Shiny could see his  hands were chained to a metal ring behind him. "Good...good..." Shiny tried to smile at the panicking boy but Bones didn't raise his head. Mama laid there for a few moments longer, trying to clear her vision. She could hear the two guards quietly talking to each other but couldn't focus enough on what they were saying.

"Are you boys ok?..." she finally asked Shiny answered her. "Bones said he ain't hurt...my head is killin me but I'll survive.." he told her and she slowly nodded but quickly stopped when the pain became too much. "Mama..." she heard Bones whimper and heard the rattle of chains. "Quit that." One of the guards snapped at the kid but Bones didn't. He kept trying to get to his mama. "I said stop that." One of the guards stormed to him and grabbed the kid's face and held his gun to Bones's head. "Aye Brutus. Boss said don't hurt the kid-" the other guard warned and she heard the first guard scoff. Then heavy footsteps could be heard and the first guard was now back at the door. "Stay there ok baby..." Mama told Bones and the rattle of chains stopped.

Pippin woke to the feeling of someone gently kicking her leg. "Pip" she heard X's voice and she slowly opened her eyes. They were in another empty room with two guards at the door. Pippin tried to pull her hands in front of her but just heard a chain rattle and her hands not move. She realized that they were chained behind her back and she slowly sat up. The room spun a little but she sat up anyway. Next to her was X who also had his hands chained behind him. "You ok Pip?" He asked. There was a large gash above his eyebrow but he seemed for the most part ok. She slowly nodded and leaned back against the wall. Pippin felt drowsy and there was a dull ache in her head. She slowly closed her eyes again and went back to sleep. X tried to nudge her awake again with his foot but she kept her eyes closed. "You gotta wake up" he told her but she quietly groaned. She eventually opened her eyes again and studied the guards. She recognized one but couldn't remember how. Was he the one who hit her or the one who distracted her, she couldn't fully remember. All she knew is that she recognized that man.

Lasso had been awake from the beginning but in too much pain to do anything. He was alone other then the two guards at the door. He just laid there, curled up on his side with his hands chained behind his back. An uncomfortable pain in his liver is what kept him from moving. All his weapons were gone and so was his hat and jacket. Lasso silently listened to the guard's conversation. "I think you hit him a little to hard" one of the guards said and the other respond in a nonchalant tone. "He shouldn't have turned that much, I was aiming for his stomach" the other guy told his buddy and they both chuckled. Finally Lasso decided he needed to get moving. So he groaned and slowly got to his knees, struggling due to his hands being behind his back. Both the guards went quiet and watched the man struggle, quietly chuckling to each other. When Lasso finally got to his knees he moved his legs in front of him so he could sit back against the wall. He leaned back against the metal ring that the chains were welded to. He still was having some struggles to breathe but for the most part it was just the pain in his liver that bothered him.

The silence was broken by the cowboy's voice. "You boys do me a favor..." he looked up at them with tired eyes. "Depends what it is." The first guard chuckled and leaned against the wall. Lasso just grinned faintly with glaring eyes. "Tell your boss an old friend of hers wants to talk..."
