Even the Lasso wanted to get going as fast as possible Thompson convinced him to stay. So he could get the rest he's lacked for weeks and so Bones and Charlie could get some decent meals. Lasso hated sitting around waiting but he did it for Bones and Charlie. Bones liked the guys at the camp, they were nice to him even though he didn't talk much. Charlie on the other hand stayed as close to Lasso as possible, fearing them all. Bones often played cards with most of the men in the military uniforms and he occasionally played a few rounds of Gin Rummy with Thompson. Lasso on the other hand stayed far from the others, keeping close watch on Bones to make sure no one got hostile with him. The only one who really had the courage to approach Lasso other then Bones and Charlie was Thompson. Lasso had lashed out on the others already a few times from being crowded so they leave him be. The others have noticed him mumbling to himself and occasionally getting up and wandering off into the woods but come back later on. Charlie had mentioned that this was a new behavior when Thompson finally managed to get close enough to him. He gave up trying to get information out of Bones since he found out Bones doesn't like to talk.
A week passed and the clopping of hooves could be heard from the forest, approaching quickly. The for men that had left a week ago were finally back and for three of them there was someone else riding on the back of their horses. Lasso was asleep at the moment and Charlie quickly ran to him, hiding by him. Bones on the other hand just looked up from his card game with a man in an Air Force uniform and watched them ride into camp. "We found her!" One of the men exclaimed while tugging back on the reins so his horse would stop. He hopped down and behind him, still on the horse was Mama Williams. Bones quickly got up and sprinted to them, slowing down when he got close so he wouldn't scare the horse and helped her down before the man got a chance to. Mama Williams had a bright smile and wrapped her arms around his neck. "There's my baby" she giggled and held him. "This one's yours?-" the guy she rode with asked and Mama just smiled and nodded. She heard a thud and looked over Bones's shoulder to see Pippin now on the ground.
Pippin was lying on the ground looking defeated. The guy she rode with just awkwardly stared down at her and offered to help her up. "Just give me a sec big guy..." she sighed, tired of sitting on the horse and he just looked around awkwardly. Penny was helped off of the another horse by a man in an army uniform. She went over to Pippin and pulled her up. "Oh get up and go get your brother." She chuckled and motioned to sleeping Lasso. "He's asleep?-" Pippin saw him laying in the grass on the edge of the camp. She also noticed Charlie trying to use him to hide. Pippin chuckled softly and went over to them. Charlie sprung up and almost tackled Pippin. "Hey buddy-" she picked him up and let him cling to her. He was shaking and gripping to her tightly. "Hey hey hey what's wrong bud?..." Pippin rubbed his back but got no answer. "He's been skittish ever since he got here, doesn't talk much, tries to hide by the cowboy, etc etc" Thompson explained and she just rubbed Charlie's head.
"How did you get Lasso to sleep?" She asked, slowly sitting down next to the sleeping cowboy. "Oh that's his name?" He asked and Pippin nodded. "Good to know- he's been in and out of sleep for the past week or so" Thompson told her then held out his hand. "I'm Thompson by the way" he smiled and she took his hand. "Pippin." She shook his hand then let go. She sat Charlie in her lap and gently rubbed Lasso's back. He was startled awake and looked around confused and tired. When Lasso noticed Pippin sitting next to him he quickly sat up and wrapped his arms around her tightly. "Ah- I missed you to brother-" she said, gasping for air while patting his shoulder to let go of her. The moment he let go he started checking her for injuries. "Lasso- Lasso- I'm fine- hey!-" she frowned when Lasso moved her arm to get a better look at the splint she had on her arm. "What happened." He demanded to know but Pippin just shook her head. "I'm fine, just a broken arm. Ran into some deer monster thing a few weeks ago" she sighed and Lasso fixed the splint a little so it's more secure then patted her head.
While Pippin was handling Lasso, Mama decided to ask what has been going on with them. It was the first time the ex military men heard Bones speak as he explained everything. The tree situation, Lasso refusing to sleep for about a week or so before crashing, how they met Thompson and the others, everything. Including the new behaviors Bones had noticed from Lasso. "Talking to himself? Normally if he has the choice he just refuses to flat out talk." She mumbled and Bones nodded in agreement. Mama then hugged him again. "It's good to see you again baby" she smiled softly and Bones buried his face into her neck, just happy to see his mom again. Penny awkwardly stood off to the side and watched the little family reunion. Lasso hated her, Charlie was scared of her, and Bones didn't much care that she was there. Mama walked over to Lasso, waving to the other men in the camp as she walked by and sat down next to Lasso who was still trying to wake up. The first thing he noticed was the healing gash on her head and he quickly cupped her face in his hands to get a better look. "I'm fine, it happened a few weeks ago" She reassured and patted his hand to get him to let go.
Lasso clung to her for awhile as she talked to Thompson. She apologized for Lasso's behavior when she was told he had fought a few of the guys in the camp and surprisingly won. Thompson brushed it off, saying that they should've taken his warning of giving Lasso his space and they decided not to listen. Thompson also expressed his concerns about the talking to himself and even mentioning Cypher a few times is what he heard from the cowboy. Mama nodded and listened and gently stroked Lasso's hair since he went back to sleep. They talked for awhile and caught up on what happened these past few weeks. Mama told Thompson about the mutated deers and where they were heading to go check up on an old friend. Thompson has heard of Dallas but never knew her name. All he knew her as was the Half Dead girl.
