Something Wrong

The river is in the north of the Alden house. It is very close. There were no houses or people living here.

So this place is always peaceful and good for taking a walk.

The guards always keep a watch over this area. So, it is unnecessary to bring extra people to keep protecting them.

So, there were a total of five people there.

Olen, Chlera, Petra, Jully, and Jon.

Jon just tagged along as there wasn't anything else to do at the mansion.

When he heard that the kids were going out, Jon just thought of tagging along.

His original assignment was to be a bodyguard for the kids. But now…

"Get the ball quickly."

"Through it to me."

"Hit him quickly."

"Ow, he dodged again."

He was thinking of taking it easy and relaxing.

But how could it be possible for him with the 'devil kin' like Chlera and Petra there?

They were thinking about what they should play.

Jully said she was fine with anything. So did Olen.

Then Chlera said they should play something that all of them could enjoy. Thus, she got Jon involved as well.

Then the issue came. Jon is older and stronger. What could they all play together?

And the solution came from Petra this time.

They would play dodgeball with the rules all twisted.

By the rules, it would be only Jon who will be dodging. And the others will team up and throw the ball to hit him.

And to limit his movements, they were playing it in water.

Jon was sure; these two brats just hated the idea of him resting. So, they came up with the idea of harassing him.

He would have refused if it wasn't for his sister.

Those brats convinced Olen that it was a good idea. And Olen used her weakness for him to get Jully to persuade him.

He couldn't say 'no' when his dear sister when she's the one telling him, could he?

So, the situation now is this.

"Ha ha ha, kid, you are a hundred years too young to be able to hit me. Ha ha ha." -He said when he perfectly dodged the incoming ball.

Jully, Chlera, and Petra were getting the ball to Olen. And he was tasked to throw the ball with all his might to hit Jon.

Even though Olen did his best, in the end, he was unable to produce any results either.

Even with his big body and being surrounded by water, Jon was still quite agile. He would dodge all the balls thrown at him with ease.

"Oh, this isn't working." –Chlera said.

"All right, time for plan B." –Petra.

It is time to bring their secret weapon.

Petra went to Jully and whispered something to her.

"All right." –Jully agreed with fighting spirit burning in her eyes.

"Hahaha. You miss me again. You are no match for me, boy." –said Jon, still laughing haughtily. He didn't have any idea about the nasty plan those two had come up with.

"Bad brother, take this." -This time the ball came from another direction.

At the same time, he heard her sister shouting at him.

Jon turned and saw the round thing coming at him. Even though he had been dodging throws like this all the time, this time however he failed to do so.

As for the reason... He saw it was his cute sister who was in her swimsuit and was swinging her arm to throw the 'round thingy' with all her might. This, in turn, caused all of her still-developing assets to swing wildly. On top of that, she was shouting 'bad brother' with an embarrassed face...

Jon's processor isn't powerful enough to handle all of it together.

The said ball hit his face, but he felt it was his heart that got hit by a cannonball directly.

"Bam..."

Jon fell into the flowing river while bleeding from his nose.

He was K.O-ed.

"Brother? Brother, are you all right?" –is the last thing he heard before passing out.

Jully quickly went to Jon to see if he was 'OK'.

"Yey, we did it." –Chlera and Petra gave high five in their victory.

Olen, on the other hand, felt dejected. He wasn't able to do as well as Jully after all his training.

"I should train harder when I get back." -He determined.

So, the game ended with Jon's losing.

They ate the lunch that Jully had brought for them.

"Oooh, the food tastes so good. I didn't know our chef was so good." –Olen said.

"You're wrong, brother. The chef didn't cook the food." –Petra said.

"Yeah, Sister Jully did. We both watched her make it." –Chlera said.

"Wow, Jully. When did you learn to cook like this." –Olen said.

"Oh, it's nothing. You like it because you are hungry." –Jully said shyly.

"No. You definitely did a good job in making this dish." –Olen praised.

"Jon sure is missing out on this one." -He was feeling a bit regretful for Jon who was currently lying under the shade of a tree nearby.

"Oh, young master, don't say it like that." –Jully said shyly. She is the one who made Jon to go sleep. So, she felt ashamed.

"This is so relaxing. I want to enjoy a relaxing day like this every day." –Olen said.

"We can go another day if you want to, young master." –Jully said.

"Really? Then let's go again tomorrow. I have a vacation the whole week." –Olen.

"Mmm, that won't be possible. Madam wouldn't allow it." –Jully.

"Brother, you can play with us. Let's out again." –Petra said. Chlera was nodding her head at the side.

"All right." –Olen nodded. Though it is regretful that Jully won't be there, Olen intends to fully enjoy his leave.

.

"Jully, I wanna get on that tree." –Petra said after lunch.

"You shouldn't, young miss. What would happen if you were to fall? I won't be able to explain this to your mother." –Jully.

"That's why I'm telling you. Let's go climb together." –Petra said. "What the worst could happen? That Jon is sleeping there. So, if I fall there, at most Jon will break a few bones of his face is all." -Petra revealed her evil intentions.

"You absolutely can't do that." –Jully said.

"All right. I won't get on that tree. Let's go to the next tree. I want to look down at everyone." –Petra.

"... Okay." –Jully was relieved that she could get Petra to stop doing anything more horrible to her brother. But then she realized.

"You tricked me." –Petra sure knew how to negotiate.

She knew Jully wouldn't agree to let her climb on a tree. So, she gave her a bad choice and a worse one.

Petra revealed a victorious smile.

"Chlera, you coming?" -Petra asked.

"No, I'm fine. I'll just pick some flowers near the river." –Chlera.

Even if they are always together, doing one thing or another, they also have different preferences.

Jully felt grateful. Having one trouble is better than two. Now she only needs to to accompany Petra.

The girls went their own way. Olen sat in the shade and relaxed. It is such a wonderful afternoon.

Sunset still needed some time. But the intensity of the sun has dimmed down quite a bit.

Being at the side of the river the wind that hit his face felt cool.

The birds were chirping, leaves were falling.

Olen was enjoying the scenery a lot.

He felt he was looking at the whole world in a different light than before.

That is true enough. After cultivating with enhanced senses, he was looking at the surroundings in a different light.

He saw Petra struggling to climb and Jully beneath her, keeping a close watch on her.

Jully won't let Petra get hurt. Olen is sure of that.

He looked at Chlera, who was walking on the river bank. There were some white flowers.

Olen didn't know what they were called.

Jon is lying under the tree.

Actually, he is fully awake. He just wanted to relax. If he got up, who knew what those two would do next?

So, he kept lying there.

Those two have already made them aware of their abilities. He doesn't want to give them any more chances.

He was hungry as he hadn't eaten anything. Still, he chose to stay put.

He kept his senses sharp. If there were any enemies nearby, he would know through smell. He has a very good nose for that.

But troubles always come unexpectedly.

"Jon..." –came Olen's loud voice.

There was a panic in the voice.

That is the voice that someone lets out of instinct.

When one knows there is trouble.

When one doesn't have a way to describe the situation.

When one calls the name of the only reliable that can save you.

Jon didn't think twice after hearing the shout. He knew there was a problem. He knew it was urgent. He just didn't know what it was.

He looked at Olen, who quickly got a kitchen knife in hand and threw it.

Looking at the thrown knife, Jon now knew where the enemy was.

He didn't think anything else and directly transformed.

His ears grew, and so did his nails and the canine teeth.

A black tail grew from his back. His muscles doubled in size.

This all happened in an instant.

The direction Olen threw the knife, Chlera was there.

At first, Jon didn't see anything there. But he still leaped.

Chlera is the one in trouble.

Finally, he noticed.

There was a black snake opposite of Chlera launching at her.

The snake moved silently, and as it just came out of the water, Jon couldn't even detect its smell.

Now, it is endangering Chlera's life.

Jon sprinted as fast as he could, but the reptile was much closer.

The good thing is the knife Olen threw is faster than him and is on target.

But how could a kitchen knife damage a spirit beast?

Yes, though a low-grade one, it isn't an ordinary snake but a spirit beast.

At most, it could distract it.

Jon has to make it in this short time.

Jon's integrated beast is a king-tier beast named the shadow demon beast.

He used his 'Shadow Dive' skill. His destination is Chlera's shadow.

"Boom..." –There was a sound when Jon rose from Chlera's shadow.

But he didn't have the time to care.

He caught the snake's head with his palm.

There's no way a low-level spirit beast could bite into his iron-hard trained palm.

But there's something wrong.

What he is holding is only the head of the snake.

Where's the rest?
