Justice 7 stood frozen, his fist clenched tightly and thrust into the air.
His lantern-like eyes had dimmed considerably and now looked at the fallen figure of Pueris in hatred.
The aureate yellow sky lit up the right half of his figure, revealing a concerning distortion of protruding veins through his smooth pink skin.
His cloak flapped slowly and eerily, it seemed to be fighting strange forces.
Right in front of him, about 3 feet, was the slumped and half-decimated figure of Pueris.
Justice 7 was stuck in place, or rather he was moving extremely slowly to the point he appeared frozen from the outside.
"That same old-time ability." His voice came out distorted and restrained through the time-field.
Justice 7 swallowed his frustration, the time-field could only be kept up for so long.
He was so close to crushing Pueris' skull yet he felt himself moving so slowly that it might be night by the time he finally reached Pueris.
Pueris looked up at Justice 7 innocently. Their eyes connected eerily fast.
"I wouldn't do this if I were you." Pueris spoke in a strained manner, it was clear he was burning through energy fast and inefficiently in order to maintain the time-field.
Justice 7's figure took a while to respond due to the time influx. But Pueris could make something out. Something sickening and illogical. Although no laughter could be heard, Justice 7 was laughing bluntly through his expression.
A sliver of words waded through the slowed time and into Pueris' ears. Dangerously flat and dead compared to the apparently cheery laughs being produced.
"Watch me." For a split-moment the time field broke, and Justice 7's voice was perfectly clear.
Pueris' eyes disclaimed and shook as he instantly restored it, but his control was being tested. The space around Justice 7 was intensely reverberating and bending to his will. It seemed that at any moment he would be able to break through the time constraints.
Justice 7 was finally showing some signs of getting serious.
The space was moments from snapping into two. Reta was nowhere to be seen. Left in a seemingly distant and unreachable part of the battlefield. If he didn't get here soon then Pueris would be left to fend for himself with only his bare hands.
An event that would most likely end with his imprisonment, death, or puppet deformation*)
As the force from Justice 7 got more blatant and unavoidable, Pueris pushed his two pale arms out as far as he could. Soon, the space refined itself once more in a hope to defend Pueris.
"Pointless."
Bang.
Time seemed to burst apart in one singular movement from Justice 7.
Justice 7's figure had seemingly apparated behind Pueris in one fluid blur.
Pueris' entire figure shook as if he had just been dunked into a pool of ice.
"Y-you were holding back this entire time?" He had never felt so exhausted, so overwhelmed but most of all so powerless.
Justice 7 clicked his tongue in disdain.
"Hero Code N.311 Help the weak. And here I am, you brought London to the ground, so it'd only be reasonable if you experienced a similar fate."
Pueris looked at him in disfigurement.
"Just doing my job." Justice 7 shrugged.
All the tension seemed to have... dropped suddenly?
Pueris looked up quietly.
"Please don't hurt me."
Justice 7 laughed heartily.
"Of course, I won't hurt you."
Pueris let out a long wave of relief through his breath. Jail, puppetry, whatever came next was inevitable, at least he would keep his life.
"You see..."
"I don't enjoy disrespecting the dead."
A long wave of relief that was cut abruptly.
A thin and coarse squelching sound sounded from under Pueris. Justice 7 had blitzed him, and from an outsider perspective, one could assume Chrono-Eye had been exhausted, so he had seen it through the lens of an ordinary human, a second too late.
Looking down freakishly, Pueris' entire figure froze and seemed to straightened in a terrifying lapse.
His heart. His heart had been crushed, on camera, in front of the world.
A red glove had blended in with the glooming fountain of blood sputtering out from his core. What about Hero Rule N.1? To never kill unless necessary?
The World became a beehive at that moment.
Drakoboysz: Did Justice 7 just kill?
Bni231: Heroes aren't allowed to kill it doesn't make sense, the guy could've been cuffed!
Brominebr: Justice 7 just killed that guy.
Casdaysbirdmn: Deserved. VENGENCE FOR BURLA!!!
Monseiguro: Justice for Burla.
But the overwhelming and intoxicating fanbase of the former-hero Burla soon took over any discrimination against Justice.
Burla was a popular -S- Rank who had been defeated in two moves by Pueris. He was Pueris' first -S- Rank takedown and the one who had 20-1 odds of beating Pueris in the illegal betting sites.
Burla's long-lost fans returned, screaming their plea.
(Burla+vengeance.)
Burgulango: #Burgeance
Bluelight: #Burgeance
Burlaoverworld: #Burgeance
Burlagods: #Burgeance
Burlabreaker: #Burgeance
A fanbase that was soon silenced.
Boom.
As Justice 7 began cackling in the sweetness of success, he noticed something off, the Villain whom he had just killed began smirking with him. Cracks of energy formed all over the body of Pueris, before his entire figure lit up and self-destructed.
An overwhelming and deafening sound erupted in sync with a monstrous geyser of grey that pierced the golden clouds.
Time-energy raged and engulfed the land, it's sparks spread out like snakes and snapped at all the surroundings.
The geyser was visible from all around.
The energy geyser had erupted from the figure of Pueris. Besmirching and roughening the space around Pueris.
Justice 7's figure was flung backward from the force, straight into a metal mound.
His face was squashed backward grotesquely as he looked like all the air in his lungs had been blasted out consequently.
A wavering strand of air showed his path that seemingly struck straight down the middle of a particularly large metal mound. After the grey blast diminished, the corpse of Pueris was gone. Leaving only invisible grey energy sparking in the air and contaminating the ground. It could not be seen, but heard like vibrant insects.
The camera on the helicopter extended outwards creepily, it swooped straight into the scene within the metal mound.
A once hill-like metal mound had been caved in, creating a new area within the mess.
As if Moses himself had split the sea, there was a clear path toward Justice 7's slumped figure. The ceiling stood strong, making it seem like a rusty cavern. Light wept from the sky and plummeted into the carved out space of the metal mound, where sound slowly crept out.
Croaky coughs emitted from Justice 7's slumped figure at the end of the cavern. Some metal pronged around his figure. His clothes were still fully intact and his face was masked in shadows.
"A Force-Clone eh?" A dark and translucent laugh echoed from within the metallic cavern.
Pueris' actual figure appeared in a blink, both arms attached and perfectly healthy.
Pueris pulled out his arms and pointed a white gun directly at the brow of Justice 7.
The grip was steady and firm, but the pointed gun did not seem to faze Justice 7 or his demeanor.
"I never expected such power inside that technique. Did you not consider that perhaps you should be saving that energy? I can tell your reserves are being exhausted rather rapidly. Or have you already accepted that your graves have been dug."
Pueris ignored Justice 7 and his ramblings.
Pueris fired the pistol in rapid succession.
Coils were pulled as dark shots lit the inside of the metal mound cavern with a wild yellow hue that briefly appeared before dimming down, time and time again.
Bang.
"When did he get to that level?"
Bang.
"Do you know?"
Bang.
"I guess you don't."
Justice 7's head swung from side to side inhumanely, dodging the bullets each time that wedged themselves into the metal wall behind him.
"Do you really-."
Bang.
"Think-."
Bang.
"That these-."
Bang.
"Bullets-."
Bang.
"Will reach me?"
Swoosh.
Justice 7's figure appeared right next to Pueris'.
The white gun had been stolen in an instant.
There was no blur as he stood before Pueris, just the dimmed red eyes of a god of death.
Justice 7 rose his eyebrows humouredly.
As his eyes met with Pueris' he slowly crushed the white gun inside his hand.
Pueris' real figure shook lightly despite his efforts to stay strong and keep an image up.
The only thing that could've evened the playing field between the heroes and villains.
Armament Gungnir.
A disgustingly beautiful name for an ordinary white pistol.
The special project was less so the gun, but the bullets.
Bullets that could permanently remove abilities, if not weaken them in cases like Justice 7.
Amazingly, even Justice 7 had to be wary. This was why he dodged the bullets rather than taking them head-on. Even small contact such as flesh wounds could weaken major abilities and render the strongest heroes powerless.
Unfortunately, it seemed that Justice 7 had noticed something odd about the bullets. Many heroes' arrogance had cost them their world.
Bullets fit for villains due to Hero Code N.230- Never cripple someone unless absolutely necessary.
And this beautiful project was slowly being crushed and becoming obsolete due to Justice 7. Three years of work became a pile of white trash.
"Stop."
Pueris' voice was frail.
Justice 7 merely looked down on the child-like body in amusement.
"How about you make me-."
Boom.
Pueris could hardly see anything at that moment.
Because black chaos corrupted his vision.
All he saw was Justice 7's figure retreating into the darkness of the metal mound and a familiar figure standing before him. Justice 7 had been blown back, leaving a human-shaped hole in the metal mound, when he would return was hopefully never, but inevitably soon.
Enshrouded by tides of chaos, Reta's mask was cracked and close to being no more than shattered fragments.
His muscles tightened one more time as the Chaos around him boomed with flamboyancy.
"50% Chaos Manifestation."
His eyes became waves of red smears in the darkness.
Chaos danced in his wake like a riled-up pack of rabid hounds.
The impalpable darkness was soon invaded by flowing waves of red, they all became one. If Justice 7 was God, here came the devil.
Chaos had formed all around.
Molder225: Why do they keep using a gun?
Renmobc: Justice 7 still hasn't used his force control.
Denf: Couldn't this be bad for Justice 7?
Justice 7 was silent for the first time in a while.
Reta's dishaped manifestation of chaos momentarily warped as he looked at Pueris calmly.
"Plan F-2 is a fail."
"Going rogue."
Pueris attempted to hold onto Reta's shoulder but found his right arm sharply disfigured by the Chaos swarm.
Pueris shook his head. He didn't have time for this. The world didn't have time for this.
"Just follow the plan. If we follow the plan-."
Reta's figure was already roaring with chaos energy. To the level where the surroundings had begun to shake.
The sound of deafening rumbling ensued.
Far overshadowing Pueris' voice.
Pueris could only listen to Reta at this point. His words were essentially muted to Reta.
"Assist me again. It worked once, it'll work again."
Reta's figure still glistening with chaos-energy began striding down the makeshift cavern.
Justice 7 was still silent.
Pueris tried to shout over the chaos but it was futile.
"I'M ALMOST OUT OF ENERGY RETA."
He panted not from an act, but from reality.
"RETAA."
"RETA. YOU'LL DIE IF YOU FIGHT HIM NOW."
"I SWEAR, IF YOU DON'T-"
Pueris felt his efforts furl up into a tiny despicable ball.
His legs broke down very soon. Feeling his efforts gone he tried to reach Reta through hand-eye communication. But Reta was already nearing the end of the tunnel.
He was walking with ease despite the stakes at hand. Justice 7 was still nowhere seen. As Reta reached the end of the tunnel, Justice 7's figure was not there.
However there was bent mental on one side of the wall. Evidence of Justice 7's body being here before the current moment.
Reta could not see through the chaos engulfing him, but sunshine had broken down through the metal mound. Reta looked around briefly before investigating silently and stubbornly.
Something felt off.
Something felt eery.
But he couldn't grasp what.
The top of the metal mound had a small hole. Allowing a smooth and soothing light to flourish within the Chaos that surrounded Reta.
To Reta, it felt as though he was in a shallow pond of silence.
Justice 7 had still not been found. Reta was intoxicated by the Chaos, his senses were essentially blocked in certain areas.
Only Pueris could see the sunlight. Through the sunlight, he saw a bland and flashy figure standing directly behind Reta. His green cape flapped despite the absence of wind.
The green cape that flapped in the presence of 'Justice.'
He shouted as thoroughly and powerfully as he could. His eyes threatened to squeeze themselves out of their pockets from the stress.
"RETA. HE'S BEHIND-."
His voice became a whisper, a mutter and a curse as he saw the figure reach out for Reta.
"You."
*(Puppet deformation is when a Villain with optimal powers became a puppet, possessing no free will yet being forced to watch as they crushed all their former companions. Puppets commonly died within a year. Though there were a few exceptions.)
