Heroes And Villains

The scarlet lionizing sun had settled in the sky. It could be called around mid-day as of now.

Impalpable yet luminous rays of sunlight burst upon the city below.

A colossal figure stomped and barged its way through the crowded colored centers of New York.

A strong and vibrant multitude of colors flashed and roared from flat cinema-sized screens that had been littered around the square.

Shrarld's huge oily hair waved due to its abhorrently long length as Shrarld himself looked around with a grudge. He was tired, hot, and bothered. Since he was wearing jeans, his legs felt like they were being choked constantly and had grown to an intense red. His leather jacket seemed like it was at breaking point and sweat streamed down his rusted skin.

He was one bad move away from wreaking havoc on New York.

Had it not been for his dazed barren-forest eyes glancing upon a notification from his iPad that looked like a phone in his humongous hands, then he might have fallen to sleep then and there. Right in the heart of New York.

{Shrarld, two heroes are coming for your location. Take care of them then head for the plane we've booked out for you.}

Shrarld chucked his iPad behind him. It was half cracked from his throwing force and fully shattered upon impact with the ground. A scream rang out but Shrarld's bulky figure just shifted from side to side uneasily as he made his way to the airport.

America had been awful in the last few months.

There weren't many heroes who could demolish Shrarld in a one-on-one but since all the heroes in America loved to work in 7-man teams, Shrarld had ended up having to hide his appearance and act like a coward for months.

True torture for a blood-thirsty maniac like Shrarld.

Shrarld remembered scarcely of the contents of the meeting from yesterday. He only remembered that he held heavy discontent for the newest member of Red 0, Pueris. A chance to battle who could be called his rival, Herculainz had vanished in a snap. But it wouldn't be too bad.

Shrarld was roaring to challenge some Suzhou fighters and to participate in some sumo with his superior build that had been unfair since birth to all that faced him. He imagined the scenes as he overpowered his opponents through their duel of pure strength and as the crowds roared and the adrenaline seeped through his veins...

Shrarld woke up from his dream feeling heavy and annoyed.

Horns blared from cars and trucks as he found himself in the middle of a street.

"Get outta the way you big fuck."

A bald head hung out of a green truck, whilst a hand rapidly blasted into a horn button. A horn came with a 2-second delay each time.

"People got days to get through, retard." A middle-aged lady polluted with wrinkles hung her head out a half-drawn window. Her silver Volkswagen was peeling off at the edges.

Shrarld decided he needed to make a decision. Shrarld decided to kick in the front of the silver Volkswagen and to punch the glass window of the green truck, Shrarld then carried on with his day.

As the front of the silver Volkswagen became the site of a minuscule earthquake and the glass of the truck was smashed into a million pieces upon the simplest of contact... A chorus of shouts rang out as shattered glass smeared the floor. Ignorant of the angry and stubborn shouts of the world that felt like mere flies buzzing to his iron ears, Shrarld walked on.

Or rather stormed on.

Whilst Shrarld stormed on, another storm occurred within the limits of the sky.

"How close are we to getting there, Jack?"

Two silhouettes rode on a sword of thunder. A trail of spiralling thunder folded and spat out behind in their path. Just below them was a golden-lit snow-haven of clouds that formed a heavenly floor. They were riding just above the clouds and the sky around them was a beautiful sun-set scene.

There was a girl with bunned blue hair and an eked face. Her hands covered her eyes. She hadn't asked for any role in this thunder-sword-flight-jig. Jack or better known as upcoming -A- Rank Hero Thunder-split was currently controlling his esteemed red-ruby blade to head straight towards an -S- Rank Villain sighting.

He had a long ponytail of dark-red hair and blood-red eyes. His body was well-toned and a healthy pallor was present. He wore brown-leather clothes.

"We're getting... closer. I feel strong, working with you Talia. I feel like I can win any fight, even if the opponent is an -S- Rank Villain."

Jack recalled the profile of the target he had been told to hold off.

{Name: Shrarld}

{Rank : (S-RANK) 13th V-Rankings Global}

{Power(s): Extreme physicality, shadow control}

Truthfully Jack had no clue how close they were. He wasn't very used to this method of travel.

"Great input." A whiff of sarcasm trailed from Talia's mouth as she covered her face with a look of doubt.

She was truly irritated. She had been taken away against her will essentially and had now learned they were to head off against Shrarld, a notoriously formidable and monstrous villain, until reinforcements arrived.

"You still worried?" Jack looked back in concern.

Talia pouted. "D'you think I shouldn't be?"

Jack laughed highly.

"C'mon. We won't lose in a minute. With your amps and my sheer brilliance, we'll give any -S- rank a run for their money."

A loose smile fitted on Talia's face.

"Yeah..."

Jack's face instantly tensed.

"New York Square sighted."

Passing through one last cloud, they held in puffs as their figures instantly became soggy and dripping wet.

"Dry me off fast."

Talia reluctantly used her healing to cleanse both of their bodies fast. This way Jack would be in top condition when the time to fight came. Healing was merely her force control that she had learned from a foreign master, amping was her true speciality.

The city of New York revealed itself to them as the last rings of cloud rose to the hemisphere.

A world of glass panes and white tiles unveiled itself. But none of this was of wonder.

"Target... found."

A green circle enclosed on Shrarld's haunting figure from above.

Talia spoke with a new level of professionalism.

"Cut him off."

Jack chortled lightly.

"I was planning to already. He's a goner in 10 minutes."

The thunder rumbling and it's sound instantly strengthened, causing the sword to blast straight down in an instant.

The force caused the sword to tilt. Using the momentum, Jack turned the sword in a smooth curve arriving right before Shrarld's disaster-wrought figure.

The nearby civilians watched in glee, a few had recognised the -S- Rank villain despite his recent inactivity, but far more recognized Thunder-Split, or Jack, who had just arrived with a grin.

As the ruby-red sword balanced itself out and Jack made sure the ground was the four feet below it thunder continued crackling, Jack cleared his mind and faced Shrarld's vile and abominous figure fearlessly.

Jack's pure red eyes met with two barren forestlands. He was encapsulated, but not before Talia tapped his shoulder.

"Ah... right."

Talia hopped off as Jack spun his sword in his hand before pointing it towards Shrarld, as he leapt down to the ground his legs felt heavy, nevertheless he stood bravely before the -S- Rank Villain.

"Today is your end, Shrarld. Even if it is through no hands of my own."

Thunder blossomed from his blade evermore as his eyes stayed stuck to his target, the ruby sword became a conduit of lightning energy. A small blue aura soon emanated from jack's skin. He felt his muscles grow and tighten as his energy levels soared.

His lightning now had heavy traces of blue, causing it to grow in power decently.

The eyes of Jack had become a heavy blue, like the sky on a regular day, the golden sky on this day sat pretty in the background of the cameras of the recording civillians.

"Alright. I think we're pretty even now. Eh?" Jack noticed Shrarld's grimace and his mind froze.

Shrarld merely looked down sullenly and spoke in a textureless tone.

"I'm going to decimate you in one punch, child."

Jack chuckled. His personality thrived in situations like these but his laugh was cut short as Shrarld spoke once more.

"So I'll let you leave out of the kindness of my heart, you can try to stop me, but far stronger men have died under these hands. "

A few measly seconds passed.

Shrarld shrugged his heavy shoulders. A move he recalled from a certain somebody from earlier. As he gradually noticed Jack's unwillingness to change stance or even speak, he decided the boy's fate swiftly.

"I don't usually murder the weak, but it seems you are murdering yourself here."

His voice boomed out deeply.

Jack truly wouldn't stand a chance.

Or so he thought.

In the flash of an instinct, Jack tossed his red-ruby blade outwards, it missed Shrarld by a hair and ended up airborne one meter behind him. Spinning eerily within the air, it's movement empowered by blue and yellow thunder.

"You are weak-." Shrarld did not speak slowly, but his sentences were cut short in the moment.

The world seemed to wait for Jack.

Jack smirked.

"Too slow, big guy."

Thunder apparated as Jack's figure became an after-image that had only half faded by the time an image of descending lightning appeared next to the eery spinning blade behind Shrarld.

Jack reclaimed his blade in the air and prepared an offensive stance in one fluid movement.

Before Shrarld could even turn his head, thunder pierced through his figure and Jack was back in his starting position, facing off against Shrarld oncemore. A trail of thunder crackled and snapped in the aftermath of Jack's attack.

The world turned black and white for a moment as time caught up.

Chrt-zz.

No blood spilled, but the sound of scorching lightning seethed in the air.

The attack had landed.

Jack cheered himself up.

"Well that's one tactic down. Since I haven't damaged you yet, It's time to get serious."

Shrarld hadn't been harmed at all, but he was intrigued.

"This thunder-." Shrarld's mind flipped backwards in time, he knew this thunder by it's volatility alone.

Jack's blade became a beacon of thunder that rose to the height of half a skyscraper. It was volatile and destructive as its pure form of crackling yellow burst out. He had summoned it swiftly and he did not wait a second longer to utilize it.

"It's his."

The beacon of thunder drove down in one fluid movement.

Boom. Thunder struck straight into Shrarld from the head-down.

"Herculainz's..." A deep voice rumbled through the shrewd lukewarm air. "So you are his student, boy? Herculainz, the hero of thunder who stands beside Justice?"

A small cloud of smoke rose from the right of Shrarld's bulked neck.

Two lively green eyes shone through the smoke. Blinking eerily and at irregular intervals.

In the last moment, Shrarld had twisted his head out of the way and received only a minor burn on his neck. He didn't want to wreck his hair, after all.

"Careful boy, this is the hair of a Greek God, damage it and I might accidently spill your guts on the floor."

Shrarld was in a trance-like slate having realized that his Rival's disciple, or at least one of them, was before him. This would be a chance to measure Herculainz's power as well.

He felt as if he was in a pleasant and soothing dreamland now.

Jack sighed as he saw the blank reaction from Shrarld.

"That's not enough either?"

"Then how about..."

Jack rose his blade once again. This time thunder gathered as it had last time and to the exact same height too. It possessed the exact same factors as his last crackling yellow beacon of thunder.

But then, Talia started panting hard. Her hands pushed outwards.

And then the beacon of crackling yellow received blue. And the blue engulfed it and erupted alongside it. The lightning turned to a shade of neon blue and rose to a height that seemed to challenge the nearby skyscrapers. It crackled at a much higher pitch, and it was brighter and clearly more voltatile. Every person who had dared to watch the fight took another 100 steps back.

"This-. This should be enough. Right?" Jack laughed heartily.

He had rarely got to hold levels of power like this, thankfully Talia was supporting him.

The thunder no longer cackled but rushed around like waves in a fragrant ocean. The right arm of Jack was bustling with tenacious muscles. They were sore from over-use and had turned a sorrowful red.

"I've never tried this move, but I can tell it's going to hurt. This is over Shrarld, repent in Hell."

His hand lowered at lightning speed. Striking straight down flawlessly and the neon-blade followed.

Boom.

Blue thunder crashed down, and an influx of yellow broke out too from the breakout and explosion.

Brown smoke clouds emerge in large polluted by toxic blue.

And all that remained was a huge slit across New York. It formed a small ravine that parted the ground into two.

The nearby civilians had all evacuated so that risk factor was gone but most, unfortunately...

"You aren't the first to think they could kill me. Unfortunately, like all of them, you are too weak."

Shrarld's figure bustled from the depths of the smog. The surroundings trembled as his feet made debris jump from the floor with each step he took forwards.

His figure charged forwards in a blur. In under a second, he was before the still partially exhausted Jack. He had gone from 0-100 before Jack's mind could even understand how he had survived the attack. And his fist drove through the heart of said Jack. In a similar blur-like fashion.
