Pathetic

There,in the middle of the once lively street, stood the souless body of the one known as Germany's Reaper. His reign has finnaly come to an end with his defeat at the hands of the dark archangel Key.

She stood there, looking at him with pain and disgust in her pupils, before opening her mouth "How does it feel? For an arrogant bastard like you to end up just like your victims?". Her tone seemed different than any other time as she was emarged in the persona of the winner of their game, but yet her disgust was not of an arrogant kind, because she didn't feel like she was better than him, it was simply caused by the sarrow she felt for his victims.

"Hagh...Hagh..." tried to gasp for air, the man, before rolling his eyes back in and exhaling with all his might. His breathing steadied, even if he was unable to move, but he could still speak. He looked up in fear at the woman galzing at him. This was a new sight for him. He opened his mouth as if to inhale once more, but he decided to respond to her question.

"It feels... bad. I have never felt like this before..." said Meyer as confusing toughts were baring in his head.

"This is how they felt at your hands. You left them the same way, before killing them."

"I KNOW." screamed the man in agony.

"Yet you didn't show mercy and continued further than me.You ended their lives, but you continued yours! " screamed Key while tears were forming in her eyes.

"Mercy... You are not going to kill me..."

"Of course you would only think about yourself in the matter." afirmed Key a fact she thought was obvious after their fight. After a long exhale and some thought, Key made her statement "Yes,I won't kill you and neither have I ever wished to be in this position."

Even with the rush of pain and emotions created by the battle, she still had a decision that will never leave her mind. The resolve to not kill a person ever again was submerged in her mind as she couldn't even take the blame for the deaths of others, killing someone with her own hands was like a last straw for her.Between her humanity she wished to protect and the monstruosity of her fate at the hand spirit living in her body, the decision not to kill stood among others as a beacon of hope. She simply didn't want to become the monster she is called and wanted to prove wrong anyone that believed she was one.Lost in her toughts she gave an automatic affirmation "I am not like you..." in a frail voice, stating that she is different than the killer beside her.

"HA NOT LIKE ME! Of course, because you are the monster, you are the one who is a danger to all mankind! " screamed Meyer, still believing in his own point, that he is the human and she is monster.

Key looked even more dissapointed with every word he said.

"You still stand by that. I am not the one that has killed hundreds. Do you think your parents saw you as a human in their last moments, if you like to brag about that so much to the point of showing me."

"It was... just survival of the fittest" said Meyer as he coughed up some blood.

"This battle has been the same, but yet I had the choice to kill you or not and I have made my own decision not to. What was in your way of doing the same?!" screamed Key as she got more agitated by his reponse.

"I guess there is no reason to lie now. The organisation made me do it, so it was just survival..."

"But you had the chance not to kill them... How the hell did you get with this "organisation" then!"

"...Alright,I wanted to join them.I wanted to be strong, even at that age, I already had big ambitions. I WAS LIKE A PRODOGY! IT NEEDED TO HAPPEN! "

"So you had the choice... yet you only lie to yourself to mask the truth. They probably saw something worse than a mosnter as they drew their last breath."

"...Agh...You little..." shrieked Meyer getting furious to the point of using his last strenght to clench his teeth. He tried to grab Key as his arms started being functional once more, but to no avail as she took a step back and he feel on the ground, powerless.

Faced with the ground he mumbled "How dare you... I had the choice, but I chose to be stronger and I continued based on that. I am no monster, I am a survivor, a hero!"

"A person that kills incocents is no hero. Continuing was also your choice, you drowned yourself with the blood of others and now you get mad at me for trying to understand you. "

"You and your stupid mercy...I don't need you to understand me and point out what I have done. I won't take comments from a half assed creature that I can't even call human!"

"You truly are just patethic."

"No... You don't get to say that to me!"

"Patethic. Killed so many, yet feels no remorse to it."

"SHUT UP! You know nothing, You don't get to judge, you are inferior to me."

"And once more patethic and not because you lost, but because you can't seem to understand that this is the exact feeling they felt. The emotion you are feeling right now is fear. "

Meyer turned his view upwards to the lady talking to him. He saw her once more in a whole other view.It wasn't like she was looking from above at him, as a winner she should have mocked him, but she only tried to understand his reasoning. There was really nothing more to it than the stupid dream of a broken human to kill what he believes is weak.

"They were all just weak, just like her, so then why I am in this situation." tought Meyer to himself, failing to understand where he went wrong. Just the fact that he is alive is a miracle, but he couldn't feel relief. He only felt pain as her words echoed through his mind. It was all too much for him to bear as he screamed once more " JUST GET AWAY FROM ME,YOU FREAK!"

"Alright, but once again you chose this.I only... tried to help you now, after surviving just like you said. This was my choice and now you chose for yourself and I shall accept it, but just so you know you tried to scare me with those pictures, but it only made you look more pitiful now. I'm sorry" said Key as she gave him one more dissapointed look and decided to turn around and walk away from the problem. Tears were running down her face, but she didn't try to stop them, she accepted them. Maybe she were weak after all, but that made her Key.

She tried to help, but if it wasn't her call to make, the choice to merely leave him in his misery and get away from him seemed better, even if it saddened her.

She started to walk, barely standing on her feet, still thinking about everything that just happend, but she did not look back once. With each step she tought to herself "Did I really spare him so I could help him or was it just for the approval I seek from myself."

One more step "Did I really not want to kill him or did I just feel bad for his victims which made me want to understand him."

One more step "Did I really just ran away and left the problem floating in the air. Maybe I just wanted to prove something then. I wanted to maybe make myself feel better..."

So many questions, but left with no answear as she dissapeared in the mist and that was the last Meyer saw of her.

On the ground, he started to push himself with his elbows to get away to atleast recover a little bit. Moving slowly like a worm, he was barely clinging on to life. From his legs to the lower body being paralyzed, it was impossible for him to even stand up.

He finnaly got to a wall in a dark alley and placed himself against it. Trying to catch his breath, he was thinking about everything the dark angel pointed out. Even if lost in his toughts, he felt a presence watching him.

It was even sinister than the one who defeated him, like a bloodlusted wolf ready to devour his prey. He was hearing only the slow footsteps of a man with black, short hair, an oversized chef jacket and red, dark eyes like the ones of a dragon. There was no need for formalities, because he already unserstood who the person was by the marks on his face and by the way he smiled. It was another dark archangel and specifically, the one he wanted to kill, after he got done with Key.

Throught the dark alley, only his steps echoed, Takada's steps. He finnaly got close to Meyer and for a split second the both of them linked eyes.

"Still alive huh." said Takada with a smirk on his face.

"Are you mocking me?!"

"No, not really. I am just impressed how strong she was in that fight. So majestic and beutiful, wouldn't you agree?"

"What the hell? Why are you here?"

"It's simple really. I witnessed the whole fight and was quite interested in you. I sure loved the dillema you made for her. You were truly a great first oponent."

"You saw the whole thing... You think this is a game?! I could have killed your little precious pet, you know!"

"You could have, but now you only crawl like a pathetic worm. You are not even able to look at me without being scared, haha!" laughed Takada at the person he considered a mere worm. His glaze pierced through Meyer's heart differently than Key's, because this man truly was looking at him like an arogant monster, ready to feast.

"You dare... laugh at me. You don't know who I am?!"

"Who you were, what you were. It doesn't matter anymore, because in my eyes you only look like a bug I could squeeze any second now. " said Takada while his expression changed to an uninterested one. Looking down on him he affirmed " You compared Key to a monster and yet she showed mercy to you. That is only, because she got a precious heart, but me on the other hand... well, I am what you would really call a monster." as he expressed his true nature.

"So you are all devils, I knew it!"

"You are no better than us, fool. Don't get high and mighty. It is only that you think you got a higher position here, because you are what is considered normal, but no. You are only weak. I can't even call you out how Key did as I have done far worse and can't say I am any better as a person, but I am stronger in any other way. "

Meyer watched in horror as the angel before him was speaking of his own weakness as if to mock him. Normally he would have gotten angry now, but he finnaly understood his place. The charsimatic way the man was speaking, the calmness in his eyes and the subtle use of expressions screamed that he had no interest to play with him anymore. The end of their talk was predetermined as he spoke once more "You will soon meet them. Those kills you were so pround of. You see, that is just another difference between us, You still care about them, you remember them when I have already forgotten every single one of my kills and that's how even Key touched your heart. For an assassin, it is quite dissapointing."

"I don't care about them. They were only tools for my succes!"

"Sure, sure. Keep lying to yourself, little man. You should be glad I am here to put you out of your misery." said Takada as he crouched to get more on the man's eye level.

"Hagh... hagh... You don't know what you are talking about... " tired to gasp for air after hearing his words.

"You are only human after all. Maybe after them, you truly became this arrogant version of yourself, but you could have never been fully realised as they kept you down, but no worries. You will soon meet them... in hell."

"It's fair to say you are going to kill me now... " said Meyer as his final realisation.

"Yeah,as if that wasn't already clear, but it's been fun, you know, but you tried to kill my Key and that is something I can't forgive. You also made her grow so I will make it painless for once. "

"Ha... ha... ha..." tried Meyer to laugh while Takada took out a small knife from his pocket.

He stood up and looked at the knife for a second. A horrific smile appeared on his face. The one of a person that enjoys killing, a person that doesn't see it as the means to be strong or for money, fame like Meyer. He is simply just a homicidial maniac. He approached Meyer with delicasy to make the moment last longer. Yet the time of death came sooner to Meyer than he expected as in a mere second his throat was slit. Takada's eyes breached his pupils once more as blood flew on the ground and his body fell with no movement left in it. A pool of blood was created where his head stood.

In the seconds he took his last breath he thought to himself " Finnaly joining you all in hell, huh... How ironic... the great me... meeting such an end." . The light in his eyes stopped burning, the fury in his heart and the fear all evaporated with his last thoughts. His body was now fully a husk with no soul. The once arogant Reaper of Germany was dead. Takada has taken another life, but his heart remained the same, even tho this time the man deserved it, it was no different to him who was killed. A death stood on the same ground to him, no matter the person.

Key, on the other hand, was way different than both, she was like a pure cup of water compared to the two. She feared death, she didn't want to see more of it and even if that was considered weak given her environment, she didn't care, because she still had a pure heart and even if there are people that died because of her, she never once thought of mudering someone and she stood by it. Even if weak, she still won the fight as it seemed the body possesed by an dark angel was enhanced in every way including durability, but the injuries still affected her. Walking on the path of victory, she thought " I did it Takada. I became strong like you wanted me to. I can finnaly... go back to being with you again." as she felt a sharp pain in her whole body. She fell on the ground, bearing the pain, sweat rolling down her forehead until she saw him. Takada approached her slowly with a broad smile on his face. It was a welcoming smile, the one she needed right at that moment. He took her in his arms. Her dark hair was left stranded and flowing with the wind as he started to walk with her in his arms. His view was fixated on the road while her's was on his face. It was like she saw a saint with pale skin, the Hikoboshi to her Orihime.

"It's alright Key. I am here."
