It was supposed to be a day for Maralin to spend the day with both of her parents at the same time. But because of my pride, it ended up being a day with too many people bundled up together in a place catered for children. 


As happy as I was for Maralin, seeing Valerie with Drayce drained so much from me. 


I initially invited Jeremy so I can distract myself because I honestly thought that Drayce had Valerie in mind when he initiated this day out. 


Why didn’t I just let Drayce manage everything? 


Why did I have to make things more complicated for myself? 


Looking at them so close and holding each other all the time reminded me of the times when he wouldn't leave my side. 


Maybe I have a knack for torturing myself. 


I can feel Jeremy studying me. I doubt that he didn’t notice, knowing that I am incapable of suppressing my emotions through my face.
