CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE

The situation with Anu had kept the introduction ceremony on stand-by but it had also enabled Vee and Zainab catch up. The latter was going to six months in her pregnancy and the matter with Anu was causing her so much worry, she had to pry something out of Adesua about how Anu was doing but there was no need to because the only thing that relieved Adesua about the whole situation apart from the fact that Anu had lost the pregnancy was that she was alive and well, anything else she left Tristan to handle. Vee was seated with Zainab in her room as they ran their eyes through a magazine for traditional attires for Yoruba brides when Zainab finally opened up about how she really felt.

“So I knew you would get married before me but I didn’t think it’d be this way” Vee smiled

Zainab was too deep in thoughts to catch Vee’s words, Vee raised her head up realizing she had been talking to herself all these while, she tapped Zainab

“Hey, is everything alright? You’re so lost”
